This was the perfect location for celebrating our daughters’ graduation from Appalachian. The house is beautifully decorated, clean and provided ample space for my extended family. We were impressed with how well the kitchen was stocked with cooking essentials as well as the seating areas in the kitchen and dining room that could accommodate large groups. I would definitely recommend this property to anyone who is planning a visit to Boone.

This was a great place to stay! It was so beautiful. Had so much room. It had everything you could ask for. Board games,Xbox,TV’s in every room. The kitchen is equipped with everything you need. Beds were very comfortable. I could say so much more. You won’t be disappointed. It’s huge and so beautiful

House was beautiful. Loft was open so it was great for the kids. Plenty of room. Well stocked. 15 mins to Boone, 35 mins to Blowing Rock. 50 mins to Lynnville. Clean and well decorated.

This place was amazing! Nine adults and two infants and we still had room for more. Prime location. I will definitely be staying here again and they host Kesha was awesome.!! 5 Star Place for sure.

Our group thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Mountainside Vilas. The cabin was very comfortable, spacious and well maintained; it had a very secluded feel despite being in close proximity to Boone for shopping / restaurants. Host communication was great - from reaching out to make sure we were able to find the cabin as we arrived a bit later than expected to quickly resolving and keeping us informed with updates when an unexpected issue with one of the air conditioner units occurred. The hot tub and pool table were nice additions to have. We’ll definitely look to stay here again when we next visit the area!

The house size was great! It offered everything we asked for. However it’s really a 4 bedroom-not a 5 bedroom house. The loft beds offer zero privacy! The hot tub- small but that’s ok- would have been great but was filthy when we checked in. Called the property manager and he did come and put chemicals in it- two days later! So we did enjoy the hot tub our last night’s stay. The house was somewhat clean upon arrival…. The cleaning crew was still there when we arrived so we didn’t get into the house until 4:25 or so. No problem there, really. But one of the guests found his TV remote control under the bed, along with a years worth of dust. Also many of the lights had burnt out bulbs. We mentioned this also to the property manager but we never received any bulbs for replacement. Then the trash…. The previous renters left all their trash! All of it! And even though it was in cans it wasn’t bagged, as requested! So we did the right thing with our own trash and bagged it all. But we had nowhere to place it as both cans were full! So we did what the previous people did and left the trash bags out front of the garage, next to the full bins!! Other than those complaints, the house was perfectly sized for our group, had all the kitchen appliances we needed, and really was beautiful! Perfect number of bathrooms as well! Really a nice place to stay!

This was a semi-last minute family trip in search of snow with a scenic cabin. This place delivered, 8 inches of snow our first night. Sleds on property, kids were in heaven. Cabin was beautiful and the perfect size for our family of 12. Well supplied kitchen for cooking big meals ever night. Centrally located for tubing, skiing, ice skating, and snowboarding. Hot tube was a great bonus, with great views. Was a great experience, would definitely come again!

The home was decorated beautiful for the Christmas holiday. It was very comfortable and we liked the main floor layout. Note- this is a 4 bedroom 4 1/2 bath home. It is advertised as a 5 bedroom 5 bath which is misleading. We had 5 couples and since there was only 4 bedrooms one of our couples has to sleep in the open loft.

We had a large group of 13 stay for Thanksgiving, and the layout and size of the cabin were perfect. There are two bedrooms upstairs, 1 bedroom on the main floor and two downstairs. Everyone had plenty of room to spread out, and we could spend time together without feeling like we were right on top of each other. The location was convenient to downtown Boone while still giving you the feel of being in the mountains. Cabin was very clean and the kitchen was extremely well stocked. Would definitely stay here again.

A Mountain View is beautiful! My group and I had an amazing time and could not have designed a better home! The home was exceptionally clean and had everything you need to have a magical mountain weekend! If you are looking for a cozy, spacious, centrally located home for your next trip to Boone please consider A Mountain View! We will definitely be coming back!

I loved the proximity to Boone

This place was wonderful. It was fully furnished with everything you need for a great get-away. Having two refrigerators was very convenient as we did all the cooking at the house. It was easy to get to and centrally located. We would definitely consider returning to this location again.

The pictures do not do the house justice! It was perfect for our group and the kids enjoyed the pool table and hot tub. The house is very well stocked. We would definitely stay here again!

This is a beautiful house with lots of space. We could not get the gas logs to work nor could we find the key to the hot tub. Other than that it was awesome!

Lovely hot tub, great views, and great hosts. Easy to communicate with when the fireplace didn’t work. Definitely a steep driveway and one really needs 4wd in the slow. It was an easy drive to the sights on the blue ridge parkway and to town.

It was a very lovely cabin, the driveway was the only issue with our stay. It ended up snowing so we had to get towed out of the driveway because we didn’t have any 4WD/ AWD vehicles.

The house was gorgeous and perfect for our 3 families! Great space to spread out and give the teenagers some room! We got snow on the last day and the kids were able to build snowmen and do some sledding! The owners were responsive and accommodating. We can’t wait to visit again next year! Beautiful home. Very clean and the location was great. The pool table in the basement provided hours of fun!

The cabin is large and spacious and great for multiple families. The hot tub was a bit old and small for the quality and size of this rental. Fits about 2 people comfortably. Also, when you are coming to this property, make sure to use Waze app. The apple map didn't work and our parents didn't know to use another app. They ended up driving around the mountain for 2 hours. I would highly recommend you update your listing to mention this; could avoid a bad start to a long awaited vacation. It's about 30 minutes from all the slopes. Hawksnest was amazing and we highly recommend the tubing for ages 6 and up. It's far too adventurous for younger kids; we traumatized our almost 3 year old by taking her on a hill with the tube. Also, if you get motion sick or car sick, this might not be the spot for you- The roads all around this area are really bad if you get motion sick. Overall, we would come back here. It was a beautiful lot and a beautiful cabin. They provide things like small toiletries that will last about 2-3 days. They also provided coffee pods for the Kerig.

Our family had a blast here and had plenty of room to spread out on 3 floors. I saw so many reviews about the driveway we were nervous but it was nothing. It’s gravel and not all of us had 4wd but made it up fine. Leaving was more tricky because we had 4-5 inches of snow. Several of us got to sled (on a neighboring property) as this yard is very steep. The house was cozy and decorated for Christmas which gave the feel we hoped for. We would rent again. My only complaint would be the hot tub was dirty (big pieces of debris on the bottom) so we didn’t get to use that but that seems like the cleaning crew being lazy. The family that stays downstairs should be hot blooded as it’s much cooler in the basement than the top two floors.

We had a great time and the house is beautiful. Close to downtown Boone with local shops, food, and beverages. Close to hiking, took the kids to see a beautiful waterfall in the mountains! Managers are easy to communicate with and very attentive. We will stay again when the opportunity arises.

Janet was a fabulous host! The home was absolutely beautiful and we could not have asked for a better location. It was so convenient to everywhere - Tweetsie, Blowing Rock, Grandfather Mountain - we didn’t have to travel too far for anything. The home is exactly as pictured and more. We went the weekend before Thanksgiving and we’re thrilled to already see the Christmas decorations were up. Everything was thought out so well. We had a family of 9 and had more then enough room for everyone to have their own beds, ample bathroom space, and room for our family to all sit together and watch our 2.5 year old play. The hot tub was an added bonus and while we went out each night the kitchen has more than what you’ll need for your stay. Janet and her husband have thought of everything. I promise you will not be disappointed if you stay here. Our family has already said we will be staying here again when we come back to Boone!

This house fit our needs perfectly. With bedrooms and bathrooms on all levels, we were able to spread out, and with the large living room, spacious kitchen and game room, we also had space to hang out together. The home was decorated for Christmas which added to the comfortable atmosphere. The only drawback was the steep gravel drive, which one of our party was not able to get up, and had to park at the bottom. Even with that the stay was wonderful!

We had a great time at this house. So many memories. Getting up there is a little hard but you can with a car and truck. Janet was very nice and anytime we called with questions she responded fast. The home has a lot of space for everyone. There is a workout going up and down the stairs LOL. Only issues it smells like a cat was living downstairs and the carpet needs cleaning. We found millions of candy wrappers in the couch a under one of the beds. Most likely kids eating at night. We loved the views from the deck. Would love to stay there again!

This property worked perfectly for our family. We enjoyed the two separate living areas and that each couple had their own bathroom. The gravel driveway was pretty difficult and made us second guessing leaving the property because we didn’t want to keep driving up the driveway. But overall, we really enjoyed this lovely home!

The house is gorgeous. More beautiful in person. The Vilas area is awesome. You have a private place in the woods but are still just 10 minutes from Boone or Valle Crusis. There were 4 private bedrooms for each couple. Also, a big kitchen with enough seating for 8. There were 4 1/2 baths so each couple had there own private bathroom. We enjoyed the downstairs den and pool table. We also spent alot of time outside on the large deck overlooking the trees. There are lots of rocking chairs and a picnic table. A Mountain Dream is the perfect place for a weekend getaway.

My family thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Vilas. A very beautiful and well furnished home. Lovely amenities and great scenic views. I would recommend using a four wheel drive in order to reach the home. Otherwise just park at the bottom of the driveway and walk the short distance to the home.

Really enjoyed our stay here. Loved how there were bedrooms on all 3 levels of the house - great for privacy! Short drive into downtown Boone - about 10 minutes. Cabin had a well stocked kitchen and was very clean. We really enjoyed the lower level game area with the pool table. Overall, a great place and would stay here again.
