The house is very clean and accommodating! The location is great, just a short walk to the beach. Our whole family had a great time.

Beautiful house with awesome amenities. Location was short walk to nice beach and wonderful community pool. On site pool was wonderful for the kids to take a quick dip. Minor hot tub issue that the owner responded immediately to remedy. Will plan to return.

We had a great experience at 2nd chance ! It was in an awesome little neighborhood nook and a super easy walk to the beach. We had 3 familes and no problem with space to play, park, or sleep. We all loved the pool and really had a great experience. Hong was super responsive to all of our questions and requests before and during our stay ! We have already started looking for next year !!

So close to EVERYTHING!!! Short walk to ocean, shopping not far. Take plenty of supplies with you, shopoing at food lion is the best! Bedrooms have access to all the decks, LOVED THAT! Andy was such a Great help!! Thanks so much for a Wonderful family vacation!!

Our stay at Big Bird (family's nickname for it) was truly awesome. The house is in a wonderful proximity to both the beach and the various activities/grocery stores in Corolla. Hong was very responsive with any questions leading up to the trip and Andy, the property manager treated us like kings when we got there...he's the best! Highly recommend booking this property!

As we drove up to the property and notice window AC units, a bit of apprehension spread over our group. However, we were met by the property manager Andy who explained that the central air unit needed repairs and the parts would not be available until midway through our stay. The owner had him install window units to increase our comfort but the units needed to be placed in the bedrooms, not the living room as we spent most of the daylight time outside. The good news is that the AC was repaired a day sooner than expected and sleeping comfort was restored. The place was clean and arranged as advertised. We had plenty of room for our party of 11, and we could all sit at the dining table for meals together. The hike over the dune was a bit of a challenge with beach paraphanalia but next time we will know. Would definitely stay here again.

The house is gorgeous, and it had absolutely everything you would want - easy walk to the beach, beautiful hot tub, and a pool that the kids loved. The owners and their manager could not have been more helpful. I highly, highly recommend this house.

The property was great except the AC wasn't working. The owner did what they could.: Service call on Sunday and had the manager bring window ACs. The tech couldn't remedy the problem. We were pretty hot until the AC could be replaced on Wednesday. We still had only the wall units upstairs until we left on Saturday. The lock didn't work so we couldn't lock up when we left. Again the owner did what they could. The manager put a new door knob with key on.

The property was very clean and well supplied. The location was great - several houses from the beach. Everyone in our group — ages 2 to 76 years old thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Highly recommend staying here.

Great stay for our extended family of 11 people. It was an easy three minute walk to the beach and three minutes in the other direction to the community pool. The house was as expected and everything was clean and comfortable. We cooked most nights and the kitchen was well stocked with supplies and plenty of plates/cups. Would recommend this house.

The owners quickly responded to any issues by messaging through VRBO. Location was equidistant between two grocery stores. Plenty to do….we went on a two hour wild horse tour…13 of us in total, ages 3-71 thoroughly enjoyed it. Plenty of shopping if that’s your interest. We also climbed to the top of the lighthouse which was fun. Beach was perfect for all ages. Never left Corolla….

The house was so much fun for our multi families, ages 17 - 75. Love every inch of the outside from the pool/kitchenette, hammock swing, hot tub, seating areas, top deck great for corn hole, and view from the crow's nest. Beds were comfortable. Found everything we needed in well stocked kitchen for our family meals. Easy walk to great beach area. Watched the sunrise every morning. Great location for day activities and close to grocery store and donuts! Appreciate the access to bikes and extra beach chairs. Easy and friendly check in, house ready on time!!

Our stay at Second Chance was fantastic! The house was very close to the beach and the kids loved the new pool. The kitchen was well stocked and there was plenty of seating on the decks. The beds were very comfortable, the AC worked as it should, and we all had hot water for showers. The owners were very quick to respond to questions. I would definitely stay here again!

We loved everything about our stay. We could easily walk to the beach, tennis courts & community pool, all only a few houses away. Family loved using the pool & hot tub at the house. House was very comfortable having a fully equipped kitchen. The 3 floors gave everyone room to spread out. Teenagers had their own personal space in the first floor bedroom with bunks, small kitchenette, & TV. I highly recommend this house and would definitely rebook.

What an AMAZING house with so many amenities. We booked the 2nd Chance Beach House for a family reunion of 4 brothers, their families and their Mom. We had all ages from infants to teens to adults and there was something for everyone. The beach was less than a block away so you can come home for lunch, run back to grab what you forgot or use the bathroom. The pool wasn’t in the description when we first booked but was a HUGE bonus esp since some members of our party sunburned at the beach the first day so they hung at the pool all week. There’s an outdoor kitchen, a hammock, a hot tub and the sunset from the top deck was beautiful. The best part was the owner answered all my silly questions in the month prior so we could make our vacation the best it could be. The beds were so comfy and since I had back surgery I dread sleeping in other beds, but they were perfect. There were so many bathrooms that nobody felt like they were invading someone’s shower time. We cooked at home every night and the kitchen was stocked with all the pots we needed. It truly is an outstanding house with great owners and we hope to book it again next year! You are literally just a stones throw from 2 grocery stores and shops. The pizza place was delish. The neighborhood was quiet and the lifeguards were amazing. I loved Corolla and the 2nd Chance Beach House!

Hong is a great host, reacts to issues, no minor, immediately. House was as shown in the pictures, no disappointments there. And just a short walk to the beach. We had a great time with our family ranging in age from 2 to 75! Would definitely stay there again.

We had a wonderful time on this vacation. The property was excellent, well stocked with everything we needed, clean and very functional. With the beach only a few houses away, the swimming pool, and the outdoor cooking area, we had the time of our lives with our family. Highly recommend this property.

We had a delightful stay at Second Chance! The house was spotlessly clean, check in was easy, and the house was well maintained. The neighborhood was friendly and quiet. The walk to the beach was easy. The huge dunes took a little getting used to but are part of the charm. Our only issues were very minor-missing bedroom remote that was later found in another room, main door stopped our code mid week but the property manager and host were very responsive to this inconvenience. Host storage under the beds might have caused a broken board in one of the queen bedrooms so that is something that should be addressed. We had plenty of other bedrooms for family to choose from so this didn't impact us at all. The property manager may want to look into this and repair that board though. I would definitely recommend this house for a wonderful vacation!

The “yellow house” was a big hit with our family! We had six adults and two toddlers and this house was the perfect size for our needs. The location was wonderful - a five minute walk to the beach - and the provided beach chairs were a nice touch. The house was clean and met all our expectations, the check-in process couldn’t be easier, and all of my communications with the host(s) were timely and helpful. Thank you!

We were a large family group ages 3 to 80 and everyone had a great time. The house is very well equipped and we did not find it lacking. It is close to the beach and the pool. One note: bring Melitta #4 cone coffee filters, not basket filters.

Our family enjoyed a fantastic week in Ocean Sands! The “Second Chance” beach house is in a great location and offered comfortable space and features for our group of 14. Thanks to the great room with its large dining table and the multiple decks we comfortably enjoyed dinner together every night. The beach is beautiful, and the waves offered lots of opportunities to use the surf board (rented in Corolla) and boogie boards. We took advantage of the pool and pickleball courts just across the street, as well as the hot tub on the middle deck. Weather was amazing too! We created cherished memories on this trip!

We had a family that ranged from 11 months to 90 years old. This house location was great to be able to access the beach or the pool/tennis courts. The property manager answered the many questions we had and the house was clean. We all enjoyed our stay.

We really enjoyed our stay! There was 11 of us ranging from 7 yrs old to 80! The kitchen was well stocked with pans, dishes, cups, mugs, silverware etc. They thought of everything you could possibly need. We took advantage of the great bike paths using the beach cruisers that were available. The house was so close to the beach that we came back each day for lunch , so we didn’t have to bring coolers each day. The owners answered all of my crazy questions before we got there and gave great advice on a local bakery that made a delicious birthday cake for us! I highly recommend this vacation home!

We really enjoyed our recent family vacation to the Outer Banks. The house was beautiful, spacious, and very clean and the hosts were friendly and responsive. We had a perfect location to the beach and the pool/tennis areas. The hosts have chairs, bikes, and beach toys which was very nice as well. The only thing we would suggest is a grill and some extra towels. All in all a wonderful vacation!

The house was exactly as described, close to the water, and with a great community pool and tennis courts. The neighborhood is quiet and offers lightly trafficked roads on which to walk/run and a bike/running trail along the main drag. There are two very well stocked grocery stores within a one mile drive of the house.The property was great--spacious, well-equipped with kitchen utensils, beautiful view from the spacious balconies. The host was supremely communicative throughout the whole stay. The only issue was with the provision of essential items--the house had no toilet paper, trash bags, hand soap, laundry or dishwasher detergent, or even hand towels for the bathrooms. Our party assumed that 'linens provided' included hand towels and had to go purchase these and other essential items after our arrival.
