Great stay, I needed to speak to the owner a couple times but she was very prompt in answering & helpful. Not keen on the narrow driveway though.

So clean and comfortable with everything we needed. Perfect with our Golden Retriever with the fully fenced yard. We walked to the cafes, the beach and the pub for dinner.

Host is non communicative, and not friendly. House is a unit joined with another, and it’s at the back, with a skinny driveway over 50 metres, with fencing on both sides and I did ask about room for our boat. If you can’t reverse every time you utilised the boat, don’t use this unit. It’s not boat friendly. Furniture is older than me, with stuffing falling out. We organised linen, but apparently she was let go, so we had no sheets or towels for two days, and there was no communication from the owner except to email me, a list the morning before we arrived ( not 24 hours before), of the rules, and how to open the key lock, so I noticed the linen lady had disappeared and had to contact a new person for problems, obviously no linen was my problem. We were woken early on our first day at 7am, solar panels being installed, and trades made a racket on the roof of the first unit, and blocked us getting out. Owners brief message was minimal disturbance, with no apology for organising the installation while we were here. No contact by the owner as a welcome, no how was your stay, instead I got another email with an attached schedule the day before we left, about a meter being installed by the energy company.I replied directly to the host, quite annoyed, only to be finally emailed that I was being rude. My comment was that it really has nothing to do with me, and did they realise we were leaving the next morning. So don’t bring a boat, it’s not a house, host definitely not friendly

It was very confortable, we prepared nice dinners and during the day we were at the beach with our blue dog. We had a nice relaxing time. Thank you very much 🙂

We had a lovely stay at Jack's Shack. This villa was well presented, spacious for our family of four, and located in close proximity to the river, and not far from the town's shopping precinct. We appreciated being able to park our car behind a gate. The kitchen was well equipped and we enjoyed using the barbeque too. It was great to know there was a washing machine available if we needed it. We just needed to bring sheets and towels - blankets were provided. Can highly recommend.

have stayed at jacks shack previously great for relaxation. Only have one issue the bathroom could be better set out with safety in mind. Glass shower screen, no grab rails and no shower slip mat . This is just an observation/ suggestion not a criticism . great that dogs can go with you yard is enclosed, car is parked within the fenced yard. overall great place clean and tidy

Property was well appointed with a large and secure backyard. The bedrooms are air-conditioned and fans throughout which was a bonus as we didn't see that in the advertisement. You need to supply your own linen or hire linen (phone number for linen hire provided in confirmation email). The outdoor shower in rear yard was great for washing off sand from the beaches -many of which are dog friendly. A great place to stay.

Jack’s Shack is a 2 bedroom unit with parking available at back. Short drive to the boat ramp.
Hair dryer, Washing Machine, iron and ironing board available.
Some board games supplied.
The unit had outdoor seating with bbq.
We needed to bring own sheets and pillows.
Good base to explore Burrum Heads and surrounds.

Great little place to stay in Burrum Heads. Clean and tidy, plenty of room for the 4 of us and our furry family member.

Could not ask for more, it felt like home with everything that you cold ask for. Clean tidy, great coffe machine with ground coffee available in the pantry. Close to the local tavern which is also very good.

Jacks shack is a lovely small unit. It had everything you need. It was clean and in a handy location. We enjoyed our stay and was grateful we could have our fur baby with us. We will be back.

Jacks shack is a short walk to the water front. It is very private and secure especially for pets. Enclose garden and parking. The house is very will appointed and comfortable.
We will come back if they will have us.

Very comfortable, quiet loved the use of dishwasher, lovely big fridge, all appliances were in working order. Apart from having to supply your own sheets there was good supply of other bed linen.
The large mat in front room showed signs of ingrained stains. We feel a heavy dry clean would improve its look and freshen up the lighter areas. And secondly a large vase for flowers would be a plus. We would love to return sometime.

Boating, fishing, site seeing, etc:
Not far from Hervey Bay and other towns.
Great shopping.
When staying at Jacks Shacks remember to take your own bed sheets and towels as they are not provided.
Unfortunately, the apartment was not clean.
Need to dispose of the kettle as it is very dirty and old. I had an appointment at Bundaberg Hospital afterward we went home to get our kettle.
The toaster was full of bread crumbs.
The 2 seater lounge under the cushions was full of food scraps. We cleaned it.
As we are paying for a cleaning fee this is not good enough.
One thing I will mention there were plenty of utilities etc:
We used the barbeque for cooking so that there were no cooking smells inside the apartment.
There were a few dead cockroaches found in the laundry and the washing machine filter was chock block. Looked like it had not been cleaned out for some time.
Watch out for cane toads in the garden.
All in all, we had a nice break away at Burrum Heads.

Lovely house with yard perfect for our dog. Well equipped generally although some items worn or broken. Comfy bed & aircon appreciated. Biggest disadvantage was lack of wi fi & no phone connection if not with Telstra. We still enjoyed our stay, but wouldn't use again.

This was our first Stayz accomodation, so was extremely happy with our choice. Not only catering for our furbaby with a secure area, but also ample room to park our boat and F250. Unit is updated and extremely clean. Short stroll to beach,boat ramp, shops so a win win all round. Will definitely be back again, also thanks to Mark

My family enjoyed our stay here - it’s neat and clean with everything we needed. Our little dog especially liked the well-sized fenced back yard.

Overall it was a very enjoyable experience also location of the property was fantastic. We had a great time walking the dogs to the beach in the mornings and evenings.

Jacks shack is close to Beach Pub and shops. The property is beautiful and clean with everything there you could possibly need. It has a large fully fenced garden that is really good and safe for our little poodle. We really enjoy staying there. Hopefully with more stays in the near future. It is like a home away from home. Also Cath is very easy to speak to and will return missed calls very promtly

Absolutely loved the fact that I could bring my two dogs and they had a safe and secure back yard. Lovely to walk down the Burrum river paths and walk onto the beach with my dogs. Everyone is really friendly and every man and his dog are out walking their dogs

All the facilities and necessities were provided to have a little home away from home. The backyard and walk to the boat ramp was perfect for our Bonnie (dog), as she enjoyed her holiday also.

This is my second time at this location. I love it- it feels like "home". The 2 bedroom unit is perfect, and the back yard is lovely.

Terrific little house.
We stayed for five nights with our two puppies. The dogs loved the garden to play in.
The house was well equipped and comfortable.
Off street secure parking was a bonus.
We'll be back.
