Clean and well appointed

The penthouse is wonderful - modern decor, very clean, and everything you need is there. The view is beautiful and the neighborhood has a lot to offer. Super easy and enjoyable to walk along the coast to Encinitas. We had a great stay.

This is an excellent property with great owners. The building has been renovated and updated to a two unit duplex/flat. It has great/sweeping views of the ocean. The owners have taken extra steps to include those little things that those of us who VRBO all the time really appreciate like great beds, good towels, beach towels, hair dryers, flat iron, lots of storage, and laundry baskets. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you need to cook and clean up without issue. The garage has bikes, electric skooters, and beach gear. The porch has an overhead installed heater. The living room has hidden storage, drawers of games, a beautiful little fireplace, and blankets to snuggle under. Walking distance to the Cardiff Market, restaurants, and stores. Also close to get to the beach. Several people mentioned the road noise. Birmingham is a busy 2 lane street, but you cannot hear any noise inside the flat. It was also quiet in the mornings and in the evenings for sitting outside and enjoying the sunset.

We spent a week in the Penthouse visiting family for the Holidays. It was so convenient as my sister lives nearby. The place is beautiful, comfortable and homey! Christina was very welcoming and navigating the details of the property simple. There was even a Christmas tree in the living room and a bottle of wine and some soft drinks in the fridge. We had some small family gatherings, did a good deal of cooking, and the kitchen is well appointed. The area is excellent for taking walks and cycling. We rode to Oceanside and to Torrey Pines during our stay up the 101, and it was beautiful. The city of Encinitas is a 1 mile quick walk up the rail trail and there are tons of restaurants bars and shops. We really enjoyed Herb & Sea and Ciciottis just down the street. The deck is beautiful and sunsets amazing. The bathrooms are well appointed, and beds so comfy. Love the simple decor, and great appliances. Absolutely had a wonderful time, and enjoyed the Penthouse!! The laundry in the garage is great, and we could park our mid-size SUV in the garage with no issues. It is roomy, and there was space to store our bikes as well.

Loved it. Amazing location and views. The location is great. We could walk to everything. We will be back soon!

We have a very nice time staying at this property.

High end finishes and linens with a well appointed kitchen. Gorgeous view! I would give this property a 4.5 if possible. Only negative is the street noise. At the time we were there the remote for the smart fan in the 2nd bedroom wasn't working so had to leave the windows open and it is loud! Nice AC in master and main living area. Nice touches like sodas/waters and wine on arrival. Christina was very responsive.

Our family of 5 loved our spring break stay here. We’re rode the bikes and scooters, sat on the balcony and enjoyed the views, and explored the beaches and nearby shops. The apartment is very clean, everything is new inside. My only complaint and why it give it 4 stars instead of 5 is the very loud traffic because of the busy road the house sits on. The road is the main pipeline to the I-5 from Cardiff and so it constantly has loud cars passing by going uphill. It is especially tough at night and in the early morning when you are trying to sleep. We turned on the A/C unit and white noise on our phones and you can still hear the cars and trucks going by which surprised me. Overall, excellent place though. The communication from the owner/manager was flawless and we would stay here again (with ear plugs).

Wonderful stay with amazing views. Cristina was very kind and responsive with all questions. The location is very convenient to supermarket, restaurants and beach. We rented electric city bikes and were able to ride down to Encinitas and dock the bikes while we walked around. I would recommend this apartment and would stay again if we return to the area.

The rental was unique and very nicely appointed and comfortable and the view is worth a million. That being said, we felt that the noise was misrepresented in the description; Birmingham St. is the main street into Cardiff. The traffic never stops. There was a lovely fountain but it competed with the noise of the street-- too much noise. The deck furniture was very comfortable and the weather was great but the noise difficult to deal with. I will say if inside and the two sliding glass doors were closed it was fine except for emergency vehicles. Also, if you are going to rent with families with children I would suggest to have a few kid friendly cups and dishes; there was not one kid friendly cup or dish in the unit. The towels for the bath were lovely however there was only a very small towel rack on the shower door and one hook, in master bath, to hang up the towels. We had to put towels and clothes on the floor. The reason why I gave a 4 for cleanliness was that our socks and slippers were filthy from walking on the floor. It was lovely to cook in the kitchen with the magnificent view but ,in my opinion, it was far from fully functional. Only one hot pad offered and one skillet. The skillet had a cooper coating that was all scratched and in all fairness there was not the proper utensil available for that type of skillet, only metal. For the most part, the rental worked out well for the kiddos and the view was stunning but we probably would not choose to rent again mostly because of the very very very noisy street. Thank you!

My family enjoyed our stay over the Labor Day weekend in Cardiff. Water and sodas in the fridge were a nice touch. We would definitely return.

Beautiful condo steps from the beach and great local restaurants. Super family friendly with all the toys you would need to take advantage of Cardiff (bikes, beach chairs, boogie boards, scooters). Two thumbs up!

This property does not disappoint. It is just as pictured. Cristina, the owner was extremely prompt and responsive to our inquiries, from booking the property and during our stay. There are some added touches that we appreciated, such as the fridge stocked with a supply of soft drinks and water, and even a bottle of wine to welcome us. The beds and bedding were extremely comfortable. We enjoyed the balcony each evening, the ocean views and the spectacular sunsets. The property is a short walk to the Seaside Market and other shops, great restaurants and the beach. We would definitely stay at this property again. We can't wait to have the opportunity to go back!!!

Not a big thing since the owners thoughtfully included white noise machines in both bedrooms. The second bedroom doesn’t have an A/C unit in it. So FYI on that. The temps were okay for us, but something to note. Lovely stay and we would stay again.

This beautiful landmark Penthouse is everything you could want for a vacation get away. The balcony was our favorite part with a full ocean view. We have good friend that live here in Cardiff right up the hill and the location was perfect. The recent remodel offers all of the modern upgrades and style with plenty of room to never feel crowded. Loved that we has use of the beach chairs, boogie boards, bikes and scooters, oh and beach towels. We had 4 long time girl friends staying together and we were able to enjoy beautiful sunsets every evening. Lots of convenient restaurants and shopping very close by. The Short walk to the beach made this a great location for everything we wanted to do. We locked ourselves out one time when someone accidently locked the front door handle. Christina the manager was very attentive and came right away to help us. I highly recommend The Penthouse. We can't wait to come back!

We truly enjoyed our stay here! Cristina was wonderful and very easy to communicate and very responsive to all of our needs. Property is beautifully updated and was squeaky clean which we very much appreciated. Location is awesome, you are walks way from everything and ocean views were extraordinary! Very nice and very clean. A little noisy at times due to traffic. Within walking distance to the beach and shopping/eating establishments. The only disappointment was the bikes as they were low dollar bikes and not in very good shape.

Seaboard lofts was a wonderful property for a 4 night respite for our family from our RV trip. Cristina was great to deal with, always available and helpful. The property is very nice and clean! If we come back to Cardiff we will certainly try Seaboard lofts again.

Such a beautiful place in a great area. The owner was great and a joy to communicate with. One negative point; the house was very close to a busy street. This made it difficult to sleep hearing all sorts of vehicles and motorcycles riding by throughout the night. I'm not usually a light sleeper but the location made it difficult to sleep.

Seaboard lofts was a wonderful property for a 4 night respite for our family from our RV trip. Cristina was great to deal with, always available and helpful. The property is very nice and clean! If we come back to Cardiff we will certainly try Seaboard lofts again.
