Loved the location and the clean modern decor. The views of the small lagoon and golf course from the sunny dining room and the screened-in porch were beautiful. The cottage was clean and well equipped (although a larger stock pot in the kitchen would have been nice). Both beds were comfortable. The location is within walking distance of restaurants, the marina, and other amenities. The team at the local Vacasa office was a pleasure to deal with.

We loved our stay at Mermaid Cottage. It has a lovely screened porch as well as a sun room with a dining table that overlooks the tidal pond. Two good sized bedrooms and bathrooms plus a well equipped kitchen made this a very comfortable stay. I will say the living room furniture is better suited to shorter family members but the extra pillows made it work. Everything is provided, even down to charging stations and plug in nightlights. Great thought has been given to making sure that a stay is comfortable and stress free. We would love to stay here again. :)

Home was clean, spacious, adorably decorated and well equipped ! The screened porch overlooking the pond was serene and perfect for reading and relaxing! Highly recommend!

This location really had everything we needed to stay for a week with a 3 yo. Though we did not need it, there was a high chair in the closet and the kitchen even had Tupperware for left overs. There were a few little issues upon arrival related to maintenance but the team came over in 24 hours to assist. I am very particular about cleanliness and I would rate this as a 4.5 out of 5 stars. 5 minute drive to the beach with a few restaurants in walking distance. We would definitely stay here again.

Perfect set up for a family of 3. We did notice some dishes weren’t clean and some trash was left under the counters in the bathroom but we loved the cottage. We would definitely love to stay there again.

We loved the cottage and its location. We enjoyed watching the birds near the pond. Close to bike trail and access to public beaches.

A great little cottage for a midwinter getaway. Very clean upon arrival. Equipped kitchen with all the essentials. It would have been nice to have a working fireplace during the cold nights. There was a propane tank outside, but the pilot light was not on, and judging by cobwebs it had not been used in a long time. I would go back and enjoy the views from dining table and screen porch. The location was convenient to town, beach, and marina area. We will return.

Check in only available for 1 hour and no one will answer the phone after hours. Management issued the wrong keys and did not give a door code even though the door had a key code entry. I had to spend a long time on the phone to get elevated to non local help. The local team never apologized or acknowledged they gave us the wrong keys. Make sure you can talk to someone in person when renting or you may be in for an unpleasant surprise.

Location and view good…new owners and all content new. On negative side, refrig not working right; ac either too cold or hot air; no privacy in kitchen; kitchen water supply a pain; not enough hot water for leaky jacuzzi; tv system unsatisfactory.

We enjoyed our stay at the Mermaid Cottage and will definitely be returning! The house was clean and cozy! Great location! The view of the lagoon was beautiful and peaceful! We had no propane in the tank in the gas grill, so we called the office and in no time flat someone came out, replaced it, and we were grilling burgers and happy campers!!

Perfect for a fall getaway to the beach. Cottage has been nicely updated with a bright, spacious sunroom over looking the lagoon and golf course. Everything we needed was available in the kitchen, bath and bedrooms. Streaming TVs worked great. Definitely recommend to someone wanting a little Cottage at the beach.

We loved the brightness of the light from all the windows. The space was clean and neat and very comfortable! It had everything we needed! Would love to return!

We were there for a little over a month and we loved everything about it! It was relaxing, the wildlife was plentiful , and quiet. We couldn’t have found a better place to spend some time.

Check in was smooth and the cottage was perfect for my husband, dog and me. I needed a vacuum and they were quick to get it to me. The only thing that was a nuisance was the tv only has some kind of streaming ..?? I have no idea how to use it … I’m over 55 and was never schooled on all that stuff, lol. So, if you’re not real sure how to use a roku or other apps, study up before you come 😉👍. Other than that, the place was awesome! Thanks vacasa!

We loved our petite, well arranged cottage at the entry of Ocean Ridge. It had everything we needed, from kitchen to bedrooms to screen porch and deck. And even a few happy surprises! We will definitely come again next year.

The property had been remodeled since I booked. While it looked very nice, the Ikea furniture wasn't very comfortable. The screens on the porch need work and having to work around several window air-conditioning units (one in the middle of the floor) was unpleasant. Otherwise the cottage was clean and well equipped, even though it didn't have any of the charm of the original cottage booked.

This little cottage was perfect!! We loved the location in Wyndham (right at the entrance). The furniture was clean and not run down. The kitchen was well furnished with pots, pans, plates and glasses, all of which were in excellent shape. Nice, big flat screen TVs were in both bedrooms and the living room. Bedding and towels were in good shape, no gross stains of any kind. The air conditioning died our first night there. I called the emergency number and Vacasa sent maintenance people out right away (on a Sunday) who then called AC specialists who also came out quickly. Vacasa provided portable AC units until the central air was fixed. We have rented at Edisto going on 10 years and we have never had service like that from the competing realty company. Quite the opposite actually. Is this house perfect? No, of course not. Is this house well appointed with everything you need and was it exceptionally clean? Yes, it absolutely was!! We will definitely be back.

Super cute cottage. Very clean, efficient.. with nice size TV’s.. Lovely screen porch. Would like to suggest adding a hose to the outside Spicket, to help with cleaning off beach sand. Also, the shower head in the guest bath room needs to be replaced. My husband to repair but it is old and needs to be replaced. The place is spectacular, though! Just letting owner know as a heads up. Beautiful vacation rental. Would stay again!!

We rated our stay a four star, not five, because there were several problems to do with the house itself that really need to be fixed if Vacasa is charging over $300 a day! What didn't work was that the fridge doesn't cool evenly and needs to be replaced. The top two shelves freeze EVERYTHING so we could only use the bottom shelf and the veg bins. Please add at least one working knife to cut food up! The knives were a nightmare for anyone who's cooking. Also, the cottage needs small spoons -- desperately. The promised fireplace, which we wanted to use in the cold weather, required getting on your knees to "turn on". the propane. Even the Vacasa handyman (a very nice young man) couldn't -- after 20 minutes on his young knees -- get it to work. So, we said "forget it". If a working fireplace is promised, it needs to work and a switch should be provided to turn it on. Plus, the propane tank needs to have propane in it, which it didn't. Hopefully, for future renters the new owner will fix these problems, at least for longer term winter renters like ourselves.

Enjoyed the location, privacy and homey feel the cottage gave us. The lagoon was entertaining with the Snowy Egrets fishing each morning. The last night we listened to a band playing beach music from across the way on the screened-in back porch in the rocking chairs with a glass of wine. Would love to revisit!

We aren’t golfers, so the draw to stay at Mermaid Cottage on the golf course at Wyndham was really that it was the right size and suited our budget. I would stay here again in a heartbeat! The view of the lagoon just outside the beautiful sunroom windows is gorgeous, and one morning we awoke to dozens of egrets and two GIANT wood storks fishing and sunning at the lagoon. What a treat! Two restaurants are just a 2 minute walk away (Briny Swine is fabulous!). Washer and dryer in the master bath made washing easy. So nice to have fresh towels for the beach each day. The ONLY thing we thought was missing was a pot big enough to boil pasta or shrimp (from the seafood market within walking distance!). Thanks for a great week of R and R!!

We loved the sunroom and screen porch. House was clean. Beds were comfortable. Lots of seating available and air beds if you have a large group. Weather was great and we enjoyed some good seafood. Had a relaxing time.
