We really enjoyed our week long stay in this well furnished new apartment. It has a terrific location as we were only a few minutes stroll from the center of town with shops and restaurants. The quiet neighborhood and minimal traffic are such a contrast from the craziness of Bar Harbor. We were only about a half mile from Beals Lobster Pound as well. The apartment is exceptionally clean with a full kitchen, nice bathroom, and very comfortable bed. There were even 2 flat screen TVs, though we did not use them at all. The Wifi was fine for us (we just browse the web and don't stream anything). The hosts were very welcoming and the property is huge. Our dog enjoyed walking through the paths that were mowed all around the several acres of yard.

We loved having a clean relaxing space to come back to every night after a long day of hiking. We were also amazed at the noise control as we heard absolutely nothing from the upstairs apartment. The hosts were so kind and responsive. We would definitely stay again if we ever get the chance to return.

Easy to find, wonderful space. Great access to Mount Desert Island. Inside was nice and clean, plenty of dishes to cook whatever you want. Daughter slept on the sofa bed and said it was great!

Peaceful and beautiful! Perfect get away spot. Clean and well equipped with lovely outdoor sitting areas. A wonderful spot to celebrate our anniversary and pet friendly for our dog, too!

This property was wonderful in so many ways! The owners have made easy walking mowed paths on their property which is a dog owners delight for early morning or before bedtime pup walks and exploration. The outside sitting area is beautiful and inviting. The size of the Barn Studio was perfect for 2 adults and a dog. We entertained our local friends one night. We had everything we needed for cooking and dining in. We were excited to find quality knives, silverware and plates. The owners were very responsive to all correspondence and wanted our stay to be perfect. It's a lovely place to stay with your four legged family member!

This was the perfect studio for me and my husband and our golden retriever, Lucy! It was beautiful and immaculate. Lucy especially enjoyed playing frisbee in the open field. Thank you for being such wonderful hosts!

Great location, sidewalks to restaurants, ice cream, etc. Felt very private. Host was non-intrusive and very accommodating. Well appointed, had everything we needed. Nice outdoor space.

Everything was new and clean .. nice quiet location close to everything. Owner thought of everything, lots of great information made our stay that much nicer!

Second stay at this lovely apartment located within walking distance to restaurants and shops on Main St. Southwest Harbor. Also close to shuttle service to the park and Bar Harbor. Very clean and comfortable. Lots of outside space for our pup. Dawn and Wes are they if you need them but give you privacy too.

The property was ideal for myself and my husband and was very well equipped. We really enjoyed the private seating area overlooking the main gardens. We were glad that we were staying on the “quiet side” as we were visiting during peak summer season but it was an easy and quick drive to the main national park, Bar Harbor and the rest of the island. The unit is also an easy short walk to the shops, cafes & restaurants in Southwest Harbor and a 5min drive to the local supermarket & coin-op laundromat. The host provided a lot of useful information & was available by text if we needed anything. We had a great week.

We couldn’t have picked a better place to stay for our MDI vacation. Right in the heart of downtown SW harbor we were able to walk to all the town has to offer. Dawn’s property is absolutely breathtaking and she is such a lovely host. The cabin although smaller has the perfect layout to fit 4 and a dog comfortably! Clearly so much thought went into the design.

Dawn is an excellent hostess and the studio apartment is lovely! The apartment is located in Southwest Harbor, and is within walking distance of the main street which has great shops and restaurants. This part of Mount Desert Island is less crowded and overwhelming, yet still conveniently close to all parts of Acadia national park. One of our favorite hikes during our visit, Acadia Mountain Trail, is less than 10 minutes from the apartment. The apartment was very clean and well stocked with everything you need. The grounds around the apartment are lovely too!

We were overall very happy with the property. The location was awesome. We had everything we needed. Our only complaint would be the mattress was extremely uncomfortable. There wasn't much to it and every time you moved your partner would feel it and wake up. The same with the couch. It was very hard and uncomfortable.

Sparkling clean and SO convenient to everything. We loved walking to town to shops and restaurants Studio had everything we needed. Quiet place on five acres where we wandered around. Host was so quick to respond to questions and went out of her way to accommodate us. I cannot imagine staying anywhere else!

Dawn’s place was absolutely lovely! Located in small town of Southwest Harbor it’s very walkable to lunch and dinner places as well as shops. Also very easy to drive to local hikes, Acadia NP, and Bar Harbor. The place itself was clean, tidy, and perfectly situated for my wife and me, along with our dog. Planning to visit again!

We are frequent visitors to Acadia and usually stay in Southwest Harbor. What a find this property was for our most recent stay! Clean, comfortable and private - the indoor and outdoor spaces were beautiful and so close to town. Thanks Dawn!

The apartment was clean, nicely designed, private and easy to enjoy. Dawn was readily available if anything came up, but she also gave us the privacy we needed to unwind from our hectic jobs and get in some awesome outdoor experiences. The apartment was right near the heart of Southwest Harbor, which brings you close enough to Acadia without all the hussle and tourists of Bar Harbor. Definitely would recommend it for a couple as a romantic getaway, or for a small family (the couch has a pullout bed).

Beautiful property with a great location. Walking distance to shops, restaurants and bus. Dawn’s binder of information was very helpful. Our first stay in southwest Harbor but hopefully not our last. Nice to be on the quiet side!

Perfect property for my stay. I was solo for this 1st part of my trip and wanted a place that was walkable to the town as well as accommodating my remote work requirements. Dog friendly was also a must. This apt met ALL the requirements. Less than a 5 min walk to town, ample hikes out the back door for me and my dog, wifi worked like a champ and hosts that were beyond helpful. 5 stars all the way!

We love southwest Harbor and this property is in a great location within walking distance to town. The space is very cleverly laid out so that you only see a beautiful field and it feels very private. Everything is new and clean. Dawn was very responsive and attentive. Great place!

My dog and I had a great week with Wes and Dawn. Walked into town almost every day and found a close path (down the street) that opened up to the Ocean for my pup to swim. Such a comfortable place after many days of long hikes and so nice and quiet to sleep with the windows open with a great breeze.

Dawn’s place was perfect for our family of 4 + our pup. Her studio is beautiful & cozy. The location was great- close to Acadia & a short drive to Bar Harbor. Dawn supplied everything you would need, which made packing lighter. The bedding & towels were so comfortable! Plus, she had lots of information available to help plan your days. The backyard fire pit was a nice plus & her property is beautiful. I would highly recommend & would definitely stay again!

A wonderful week at the Barn Studio. Tranquil walking paths on the beautiful grounds. The apartment is fully stocked and well appointed. The hosts were friendly and welcoming. A great location in our favorite town on MDI. We hope to return soon.

My husband, 1.5year old puppy & I spent a week at the studio. Loved it. Many extra touches. It was an easy walk to restaurants, sites, & stores. I loved all the information & suggestions from "the binder". It was a great resource guide & all the property information was easily accessible.

The place was just right for our stay. Perfect size for two people and our dog. Enjoyed being able to walk into town for dinner and ice cream. The drive to the park was really not that bad. There are a lot of thoughtful details like dog bowls and towels, coffee, sugar, creamer, plastic wrap, aluminum foil. The outdoor space was quite nice and we enjoyed spending time in the Adirondack chairs around the fire pit (unfortunately we never got around to lighting it). The sofa is adorable and perfect for the space. It was also comfortable. The lighting is well done and I especially liked the light in the bedroom loft area. The bathroom could use some sort of shelving for makeup etc, but there is plenty of room in the under sink cabinet to store things. Very relaxing and enjoyable stay. I forgot to mention all the books and some maps!

We had a wonderful stay at the Barn Studio! The photos truly do not do the property justice. Tastefully furnished, immaculate, and the layout makes it seem much larger than the square footage. The setting was beautiful, quiet, peaceful and private but still close to everything. The property owner Dawn was very accommodating, helpful and responsive but always respectful of our privacy. We hope to be back again next year!

This little apartment is incredible - it is beautifully decorated, spacious, comfortable, and probably the cleanest place we've ever stayed! The bedroom is separate from the living area, which was awesome for people different sleep schedules. We appreciated the many thoughtful touches, like local area books, maps, and lobster cooking supplies. The location was ideal - extremely quiet (no shared walls) but still walkable to town and easy access to Acadia. Gorgeous pastoral views out the windows. We saw deer, a bald eagle, and the milky way all just by standing in the driveway! Would stay here again in a heartbeat - in fact, I kindof hate to tell other people about this hidden gem!
