Perfect. We traveled around Japan for 1 month, multiples hotels/ryokans, and yubune was by far the best of all. Amenities, staff, the onsen, breakfast, everything was perfect.

This hotel was superb! Every detail was well thought through and beautiful. The room was spacious and comfortable, we were able to park our bikes in the room. The staff was very helpful and accomodating, the breakfast was good, and the onsen lovely!

Yubune is in a fantastic location, right near the waterfront, and close to great cafes. It was the perfect stop for us overnight whilst rising the Shimanami Kaido. Beautiful building, lovely modern Japanese decor, large room that stored our three bikes easily. Hotel staff were lovely and helpful, and the breakfast included at a local restaurant was excellent quality! would definitely stay here again, and next time try the onsen.

The extra futon bed was a little thin and uncomfortable, but after a full day riding in the heat, my son slept well anyway! It was also his first futon experience, so was just not used to it.

During day time the hotel room was quite warm (November) however there is no “cool” air-con function available to customers, only wind and heat… we borrowed a fan but it wasn’t that comfortable.

They were very careful.

There was a little unusual room and we needed a bit more information.

The hotel had a very nice atmosphere. I especially liked the large bath and the Japanese style room.

A minor thing, but I was disappointed that there was no cold water from the water server in the lounge. I recommend checking it frequently.

The fact there’s no real window in the room.

it’s the mixture of Japanese and contemporary design. it’s very comfortable. the ofuro facility is very impressive.

the room has no ‘real’ window. in addition, the building is built by wood. I stayed in the first floor and easily hear the noise of wood when people walked at the second floor.

location was excellent — close to Setoda port, bicycle rental, shops and tourist spots. amenities are great quality and really comfortable. building is new, lobby has relaxing natural design. sento (charged 900yen for non-guests use) is relaxing. staff were very nice and I was particularly grateful that (being tired from cycling since previous day) they helped me put my rental bicycle into the room, they even wiped the water off with hotel towels, it was wet from rain outside. we were four people and booked two separate rooms. we used the “Doma” room’s tatami relaxing space to hangout as a group. breakfast included was at a different place and we were glad they catered to our request for vegan breakfast and it was tasty. sleepwear provided was comfy and I decided to buy to take home. I got to learn about yubune through recommendation and I definitely recommend stay here, I would love to come again if I do another shimanami Kaido trip.

Very spacious room with great modern japanese style interior. A public bath with an outside sauna was amazing !! Really great renovation in a しおまち商店街 & it was Very easy access to the museums and sunset Beach from the hotel We book here for the middle day stay during しまなみ海道cycling from 尾道to 今治. It was perfect place to rest and recharge for the next day.

I wish customers who book for the night were able to get public bath locker key somehow without asking receptionist every time we enter and leave.

Simple and decent facility Delicious meal at Yubune

Location is not attractive compared to the facility.

The Yubune is a new sister hotel to the luxury Azumi Setoda next door, The location is next to the Onomichi-Setoda ferry port, and not too far off the main Setoda road, so access is fine. The Yubune staff could not have been more hospitable and accommodating. The room was quite large, beautiful, and very well-appointed. Out of all the hotels we stayed at on a 10-day car trip in Shikoku, the beds were absolutely the most comfortable. There was also a tatami sitting area and table. The common bath was very soothing. On the second floor there is a rest area with a free soft drink machine, and a FREE beer machine.

There was no coffee available in the 2nd floor rest area and no warmer pot in the room. A coffee machine would be a nice addition. The tatami sitting area could use cushions (zabuton). Finally, breakfast was a problem. First serving, in a nearby restaurant, was 8:30am. My breakfast consisted of a bowl of homemade granola and yogurt, and a cup of coffee. Since the hotel is along the Shimanami cycling route, they get a lot of cyclists staying there. However, most cyclists would prefer to leave well before the 8:30am breakfast and definitely would need a more substantial breakfast for a day of riding.
