Warm and cosy and beautiful room

awesome location and beautifully furnished. the fireplace in the room was amazing along with the big bathtub. the bed was super comfortable and the restaurant was lovely.
a little bit noisy in our room at night being above the bar but not too bad!

Breakfast is available in the Bistro downstairs, and was excellent. There are also simple breakfast provisions left in the guest kitchen if you would prefer a no cost option. Excellent quality food and service .

The room and bathroom were spacious. The gas fire was a nice touch. Gave it a pretty classy feel.
Check in was difficult. As was check out. Poorly staffed in this regard.

the room and the view
noisy bar and music which was on until 12:30 am, it was so loud and annoying in way that ruined our sleep and we couldn’t sleep until early morning.

The hotel has been upgraded beautifully and the dining was delicious. Our room was gorgeous, the bed was big & very comfortable, the curtains blocked out the sun, a huge bathroom with spa and a separate kitchen with supplies for breakfast.
The only negative was the carpet in our room needed a good steam clean as there was a slight damp wet smell. The hotel advised that the rooms were going to be totally refurbished in a couple of months, so this won't be an issue after the refurb. The rooms are beautiful as they are so it will be great to see how they update them.
The carpets needed a steam clean in our room.

the huge washroom, fireplace in the room, huge bathtub. The shared pantry is well stocked.
seems that the main business are the restaurants so there are no staff manning the hotel desk.

Very nice to have a pantry with good facilities. The bed was very comfortable and we liked the furniture. We appreciated the very large bathroom. The housekeeping staff were friendly and helpful, especially when we asked for more lights. The location is ideal for the shops in town and we enjoyed our meal in the restaurant.
The lighting is totally inadequate: the bedside lamps have low wattage bulbs and black lampshades, so it is impossible to read in bed. The table lamp only had one working bulb instead of three, and even when we had a second table lamp, with two working bulbs, the room was still quite dark.

Amazing place to stay, it has everything you need. Staff were very helpful and pleasant, close to all wineries. Abosolutely wonderful, we will be back.
No hot breakfast

The Stirling Hotel was wonderful - great location, beautifully decorated, and the restaurant was excellent. All the staff, including the housekeeping staff, went out of their way to be helpful. The shared kitchen was such a great touch.
Unfortunately our original room had a leaky bath fitting, creating a dangerous puddle. We were moved to another room, which was absolutely lovely, but weren't able to stay there for our whole stay. It was a little inconvenient to have to move twice, but all the staff listened so nicely to our concerns and tried their best to make things right.

Facilities were more than we expected with a king size bed and nice big bath. A shared kitchenette was well stocked for any breakfast desire.
The ensuite tap, very hard to operate if your hands had anything on them

Beautiful rooms, loved the shared kitchen and was grateful it had breakfast provisions as we had our toddler with us. Having the Sunday mail delivered to the door was a great touch. staff were fantastic.

Very friendly and helpful staff
Difficult to contact staff after hours

This is a great hotel with a great room and entertaining areas.
They need to update their balcony photo. There is no view owing to deciduous trees.
We forgot that hotels incorporate entertainment and especially on a Saturday night the ""doof doof"" can seriously interfere with sleep until midnight.

Continental Breakfast included from the small self serve kitchenette - just fruit, toast, juice and coffee.
At the price point the stay was disappointing and I wouldn't stay again. No slippers in the small room and very poky wardrobe where you really battle to hang any clothes. Window was dirty- so many cobwebs. Continental breakfast provisions poor. This was Room 2. I have stayed previously in the rooms with balconies which are nicer however Room 2 was not much cheaper.

Very spacious room and bathroom. Nicely appointed and private balcony. Easy switching on all electricals and the open (gas) fire. Great help yourself continental breakfast. Easy bus ride into Adelaide.

Bed was really comfortable. Nice free welcome drink. Parking right behind hotel.
Reception wasn't open when we left. Didn't see anywhere to leave key. Was wet and cold, and would have been nice to be able to have a coffee instead of having to find one in the street

It was a stunning room in a magic location

The location is fantastic, the fireplace was great and the room was spacious and very clean.

The room was stunning. Far beyond my expectation. The room was spacious, but very well decorated so the room looked and felt warm and welcoming. There was a fire place and a sitting corner with a coffee table and armchairs in front of the fire. The bathroom was huge and well lit and heated. The only quirks I found were (1) a strange tap with a strange way to turn on the water, which also controlled the hot water -- just strange, and (2) a second TV in the bathroom...
The room had access to the balcony, opening out to the historical heart of the town. (There was a historical photograph of this spot in the restaurant downstairs).
The room was on the first floor (above the ground floor) with a good lift access.
While some of the staff members were efficient enough, the level of welcoming feel was surprisingly low in contrast to the room quality. The ground floor housed a restaurant and a bistro, all seemed to share a small reception counter which also dubbed as the hotel reception. The reception service was reasonably quick and efficient, however rather lacking in warmth, and not always helpful with inquiry (including on the phone).
The restaurant waiters were not attentive nor welcoming, even as there were very few tables occupied that night at that time. This was quite disappointing and marred the experience which would otherwise have been close to perfect.

It provided a warm dry refuge for dinner and a bed on a dark & stormy night. We chose to stay here because we could also dine on site for dinner and breakfast after a long day of driving. The dinner food was adequate and the wine list was good.
We expected a slightly more upmarket experience on the basis of a Lonely Planet Review. This Hotel was very crowded, busy, and noisy and the service was very poor. We had to wait around a long time before someone got around to helping us check-in. The accommodation upstairs is not the main focus of this ambitious business. The room was perfectly comfortable but it had a very large and very cold bathroom. The fittings & furniture were flashy and contemporary, but not high quality.
