Proximity to locations of interest

Needs some refurbishing but was very clean (except the carpet could have used a good shampooing). Our initial interaction with the receptionist was less than desirable. When inquiring about an early check-in, we were met with a curt reply. We couldn’t even use the lobby bathroom (although she said we could stay parked in the lot since we were already there…about 45 minutes before check-in.) We were not pushy nor did we complain. Maybe this young woman was having a bad day. A different young lady checked us in in an efficient and friendly manner. Stay was nice. Definitely a throwback in time, which I found refreshing.

Breakfast was not an option

I have traveled extensively for 30 years. This was the worse room I’ve ever stayed in.

The floor in our room was not level. It wasn't a deal breaker. We still liked our stay but it was definitely something that was off.

bathroom sink is so small that water splashes onto floor when washing face. the shelf and cabinet prevent one from moving closer over the sink. it is also too low- designed for a child?

Room was cramped and dated. Not particularly clean. No fridge which was a big issue for us.

the mattress was memory foam and permanent impressions were left from other guests. not best type of mattress for hotel.

We stayed in one of the little cabins on the property and I loved it. Cabin was cute and very clean. It had cute front and back porch. We LOVED having an indoor fireplace, it was great to cozy around it with wine. Bathroom and kitchen were well stocked and clean. We enjoyed getting coffee in reception 24 hour coffee room. Walkable to everything downtown. I stay in Blowing Rock about once a month, this was my first stay at Mountainaire and I would definitely stay again.

upper beds were listed as queen but they look like fulls.. but no big deal. They were comfortable and the pillows were fluffy and full.

The location is within easy walking distance of downtown Blowing Rock. The staff was very welcoming, accommodating and pleasant. They have a 24-hour coffee and hot drink area. They offer a fire pit experience every night.

Stove and oven need updating. Interior paint needs to be refreshed. Master bedroom heat is not sufficient without supplemental electrical heaters.

Cozy and clean.

Neighbors were up all night arguing so we did not get much sleep.

The rooms were cozy and warm and had everything needed; I especially liked the free keurig coffee 24/7, as well as tea, hot chocolate and the fire pit; the cookies were an extra special treat! the beds were very comfy!

Great little no frills cabin right on a babbling stream. Very close to the convenience of town. Loved it.

to regulate temp in room means listening to the loud click all night of the heater going on and off. it cycled every 20 minutes. extremely hard to sleep.

the room is seriously in need of a makeover. I know it’s supposed to be in mountain inn but it’s that time to update. the bed was hard. you can hear your neighbors through the walls. staff was great!

there weren't any negatives, property was managed 24/7. Desk agents were hard working and able to be contacted, which was a necessity, because of the weather.
