For value for money you can’t beat Hippy Hut. It’s in a quiet forest-like setting but only a short 8-10 minute stroll to Bang Bao fishing village where there are shops, restaurants, 7/11 and where boats leave for diving and snorkelling trips as well as other islands including Koh Mak and Koh Kood. Also short scooter ride to the best beach on the island for swimming with no rocks Klong Koi Beach. The yurt-style bungalow we stayed in had a fan, mosquito net, toilet and shower, and was clean. The staff are super helpful and friendly. They let us park our scooter there for 3 days while we visited some of the other islands. Hippy Hut also serves a great breakfast. Their Earl Gray Banana Pancakes are particularly good! They also serve really cold beer, which not everyone does. Happy Hippy Days. Love that you can also refill your water bottles here for free.

There are quite a few dogs on the street that you need to walk down to get to the fishing village and these dogs are totally fine. However if you’re scared of dogs it’s worth knowing. We love dogs and so it wasn’t a problem for us.

It’s at the end of a quiet, little side road with one nearby neighbour but easily walkable to town / beach. Peaceful and chill. Well designed/decorated room and small common areas for chilling/ eating. Very well priced for a private room / bungalow.

The fan only room is too hot for this time of year - especially during day / night is doable - but this isn’t any fault of the property. Beware that it’s not a social place if it’s what you are looking for.

After staying in a hostel where I couldn't sleep because of loud music until 4am, I was more than happy to arrive here. Real peaceful, lovely owners and AMAZING affordable breakfast! Free coffee and water and you can pick tasty berries from the tree in front.

Hippy Hut is great if you are looking for a clean and very affordable room. The owners are friendly and the surroundings are quiet.

The bed is a thin mattress laying on the floor, which can get quite uncomfortable if you are not use to it.

Had a very communal vibe and the owner was super nice. A nice quiet location, beautiful area and the food was delicious and very cheap. Also really appreciate the free coffee and filtered water!!

it was pleasure to stay in Kumi place. about 1km from Bang Bao pier if you go from/to other islands. it was peaceful stay in nice garden and house. Kumi is a excellent chef, she offer breakfast and also lunch and dinner. our room was cosy and clean with enough space. highly recommended if you prefer calmness and warm hospitality then overcrowded resort.

I just missed some hooks on the wall to put there some of my stuff since there is no wardrobe. Bed was somehow hard for my taste

Personnel was so helpful and nice. Relaxed and cozy atmosphere. Basic but pretty comfy room. You could have a nice breakfast.

We did not need it (fan in the room was enough), but there is no A/C in rooms

Simple, clean with a lovely vibe. Kumi is a great cook and the food is cheap. Both Kumi and Bao are very friendly. Overall great value for money. There is also free tea/coffee and drinking water

Very nice and fairly new place a little of the beaten track close to Ban Bao. Staff was super helpful and even installed a mosquito net just for us. Nice restaurants and beaches nearby. Very good value for money.

The free breakfast was very delicious and nutritious! The hosts were nice and the place was quiet in the evening.

It is a bit dark if walking alone in the alley at night. I would recommend to rent a scooter if stay here.
