Check in was easy. House was very nice. Plenty of space to sleep. Very close to the water!

We enjoyed our stay with twelve guests. There was plenty of room for each family to spread out. Nice house.

We enjoyed a very relaxing vacation with our four adult children and two dogs. Everyone had their own room and space. Home was well stocked with everything we needed. We cooked all of our meals at the home for the entire week and there was nothing we lacked! The only pizza was at a gas station about 20 minutes away. There are no restaurants close by so plan accordingly. We spent a day at Mammoth Cave (an hour’s drive one way) and another half day zip lining (again, hour’s drive). We enjoyed all the games provided- shuffleboard, cornhole, darts. The fire pit was stocked with firewood. The hot tub was fabulous! We walked daily to the lake- but be aware, the slope is very steep! What a leg workout! There was nobody at any of the closest neighbors which was so peaceful for us. During busy season where the other homes are booked, you need to be aware that Captain’s Cove fir pit and the neighbor’s fire pit are very near to one another as are the other homes. The upper deck and lower patio were used by everyone. Lee was wonderful to work with. He had noticed that a shuffleboard piece was missing so he told me that the Amazon delivery would be at the door when we arrived. We thoroughly enjoyed such a wonderful and peaceful vacation. Thank you to Lee and Blake for allowing us to use their beautiful home!

We stayed at this property for two nights. Two families on our way to spring break, we stopped in Kentucky to have a couple day adventure. The house setting was just beautiful. The detail was amazing and the host was wonderful providing many recommendations and details about the local area. Highly recommend this property

We rented this amazing property for a reunion of college friends and a trip to Mammoth Cave. From the very beginning, Lee communicated well with lots of details and suggestions. Everything was so great for large group gatherings! Lots of seating and eating areas for everyone to be included with so much space inside and out! Everything was super clean, and there were lots of extras included. The views were great, and the kitchen well stocked with everything for cooking for the eight of us. Couldn’t ask for a better property for our weekend, and Lee was such a great host! Highly recommend renting this place!

First time in a long time, the family was able to get together from different parts of the country. This was a great find. The game room was allot of fun for the kids and the dogs loved the outdoors. I would imagine the summertime would be awesome for fishing and boating fun.

We had a great stay. Property was located farther away from the entrance to Mammoth Cave as we would have liked. House was adequately equipped for our needs.

We really enjoyed our stay there. We've stayed at many VRBOs in recent years and we've never seen one so well supplied! Games, tissues, toilet paper, kitchen utensils, lotions, everything!

I want to live here! This property is amazing! I was in awe when I walked in. The property is beautifully decorated. I had actually forgot about downstairs. When I walked downstairs I remembered why I chose to rent this property. The pictures on the website are exactly as shown. Most of our time was spent downstairs playing video games, shuffleboard or on the walk out patio area. The patio area was awesome, plenty of seating with an outside tv that was great for watching college football. I could go on and on about how great this place is! The homeowners were very responsive to all of my questions. I travel a lot and Lee and Blake have been the nicest hosts by far. This home has everything you will need. The only thing missing are you and your friends and family, you won’t be disappointed!

My husband and I planned a trip with our 6 adult kids, their significant others & 1 granddaughter for a 4 night stay. The house was more than accommodating and comfortable for everyone. Unfortunately, some had to leave early along with our 2 dogs. But from the first day our host, Lee checked in with us to see if everything was okay. And was subsequently available for any questions during our stay. The home is very beautiful, clean and open. I personally loved that things were cutely labeled throughout.. made it very helpful. (remotes, light switches, caution water gets hot, etc.) My husband said it was great having the gate on the upper deck so our dogs were able to freely roam about and enjoy being outside with us unleashed. As a large group we did spend the majority of our day away from the house enjoying so many different attractions. Some were suggestions from our host before we booked, a few were decided after looking at the many brochures within the cabin, and others we stumbled upon while out and about. We enjoyed horseback riding, kayaking, lots of hiking, fishing, an animal safari and of course several cave tours. However, nothing was better than the end of our days coming together in the house, cooking a huge meal to be thankful for and spending time with one another. Whether we were playing games, figuring out the telescope to star gaze, or relaxing together. We had a lot of laughs, treasured moments & appreciate all the accommodations 🌿

The property is beautiful and there are so many spaces to spread out and enjoy. We hit it during a heat wave, so we weren’t able to enjoy the outdoor spaces as much but we spent a lot of time in the great room playing games and catching up with family who are spread out across the country

Lee and Blake are great communicators, very knowledgeable about the area, which made our stay even more enjoyable. Property is in the perfect location, beautifully appointed and well stocked with basics. We enjoyed time on the lake, explored some caves, and had some terrific family time at the house with the fire pit, darts, foosball table, and shuffleboard. I even learned a new card game - Taco, Cat, Goat, Cheese, Pizza! We laughed until we cried with that one. Lots to do both at the property and exploring the surrounding area, so we would love to visit again.

The house was great - really suited our needs - the lower level family area was especially great as were the toys there for the littles to use. It was a wonderful trip for us.

We had a great experience staying at this property with our son, friends and their children. The house was super clean. Kids had a wonderful time fishing at the lake. Overall, we enjoyed our stay at this property away from the city life.

The house is beautiful and functional. The basement was phenomenal for kids and the upstairs was a great gathering place for adults. The kitchen was incredibly well-equipped, which was great because we were far away from any restaurants or grocery stores. The water was warm and deep, and the kids and adults spent most of our time on floating rafts and paddle boards that we brought. Two things I didn’t realize: the dock/water is down a fairly steep hill from the house, so it could be tricky for someone with mobility issues to get there. Also, there’s no seating on the dock—I wished we’d brought some shaded folding chairs like some other folks did. All in all, we had a great time at Captain’s Cove!

A good time was had by all - grandchildren, adult children and grandparents. Plenty of room and lots to do at the house and areas close by. Great way for everyone to get together and have some fun.

Just a beautiful home! The hosts have thoughtfully decorated and outfitted the home. They pay attention to detail and it shows. There are hooks everywhere to hand clothes and towels. The laundry/mud room is great to keep shoes in their space. We enjoyed the fire pit and were grateful for the supplies firewood and matches. The game room was a big hit and had a nice variety of games to play. The decks are terrific and so comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked. There seemed to be quite a few ticks in the woods so pack some repellent. It was a great place to relax and enjoy time with family!

My extended family had a great time kicking back in the house, enjoying the fire pit, and just enjoying the forest. We did some caving type things but they were pretty far away from the house so we ended up spending most of our time just playing and hanging out there.

A group of 14 of us were looking to get together from different areas of the country (Chicago, Philly, Phoenix, and DC), and we lucked into Captain's Cove being available the weekend we were looking. We ran into some tough weather for one of the nights which forced us indoors, but there was enough to do inside for all of us that we were easily entertained. The next day when the the weather cleared it was a really easy drive over the Mammoth Cave, and then we were able to head back to Captain's Cove to enjoy the outdoor space as well. The walk down to the water was a little steep, but that didn't stop anyone in our group from going down to check it out a few different times. Lee communicated everything very well from booking all the way beyond check-out. He was able to easily answer all of our questions and provide recommendations for even some off-the-wall stuff (including a recommendation for a private chef to come to the house to cook a meal for us). We'll be back for sure!

The layout of this house was great for friends who want to divide into floors/their own spaces and has a fun basement for hanging out in. The lake isn’t easy to get to though, and since we unexpectedly had one in a wheelchair she was disappointed to not be able to get anywhere close to the water or the frogs/toads her siblings had so much fun catching. It was a 40 min drive to the Cave City area we went to multiple times so I did wish we had just stayed closer to there, but if it had been warmer weather where we could enjoy the lake more, we would have thought the drive was worth the lake proximity. Would stay here again but not a place to plan to take our kayaks for easy access to water for the kids. Also missed having a hot tub, esp since the weather was cold for beg of April. Our van was dead when we went to leave but the neighbors all around (renters also at the time) were very nice and willing to help. House was very well stocked, easy check in with a door code, and was very clean. Thank you for sharing your home with us!

It was a wonderful home. Secluded in the country and well kept. The owner was super responsive and had anything and everything you could ever want at the property. We went with 8 children and they LOVED everything the home had to offer. Would absolutely stay here again!

This was hands down the best VRBO we have ever stayed in. The owner, Lee, was super responsive and answered all questions. The house was impeccably clean and beautifully decorated. Lots of little touches that added up to a lot and made us feel comfortable and at home. Did not want to leave!

My family, friends, and I absolutely enjoyed everything about our stay. The indoors and outdoors were both lovely, comfortable and peaceful. The house had everything we needed to cook, lots of toys and games for the kids, grills, grilling supplies, seasonings, a lovely fireplace and plenty of space to sleep. Everything was very clean and comfortable. The communication with our host Lee was great, he was always available when we had a question. We can't wait to go back!

Everything in this lake house was amazing. The place was spotless upon arrival. The kitchen was fully equipped and the grill was ready to go. The game room provided endless entertainment for all ages. The owners provided a whole pdf describing the area, places to eat and shop, and the best routes to Mammoth Caves. Our stay was excellent and we highly recommend booking a stay here.

Beautiful and Spacious Cabin. Had enough room for everyone to spread out. Many family activities and was close to all the places we wanted to visit. Mammoth caves and Nolin Lake. Beautiful scenery in the Fall. Book it. You will not be disappointed.

Beautiful house with so much to do at the house for all ages

This cabin and the hosts are the best!!! Beautifully decorated house, three floors well laid out, three full baths, well equiped kitchen, plenty of comfortable beds, and so quiet. Our multi-generational family group of 11 thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Lee and Blake's delightful home. So many cozy spaces to sit and talk, eating areas, and games galore to play if you can't get out cause of weather. They truly think of everything; from the welcome basket, to the excellent technology setup (some of our group had to work remotely and really appreciated the fast internet) and the clearly marked light fixtures. Lee was very quick to respond to our every question and the instruction binder was very helpful. The basement bar area and game room were a big hit and the patios were great for morning coffee or watching the moon and stars come out at night. The fire pit and big woodpile made for a great s'mores night. A very short drive to the marina and our kayaks were on beautiful Nolin Lake. I wish we had come a little later in the fall I imagine the leaves are beautiful. Maybe that will be our next time. We enjoyed our stay: we hated to leave and we plan to return!!!
