Overall property was perfect with respect to location, size, sleeping/beds, space and accommodations. Unfortunately, the media / theater room (one of the "selling points" of the property) did not work; the A/V did not function. The microwave did not work. The spa would only tolerate 2-3 uses per day (family of 18) and stopped functioning (heating). Limited hand towels (2 total) for kitchen use. The property management company was VERY responsive; handyman came on day one to attempt to fix microwave and theatre room A/V to no avail. We were supplied with a second counter top microwave (extremely helpful) but there was no fix to the theater room so that was a dissapointment (no family / kid time for movies). The home is quite impressive and I would still recommend for large family/friends gatherings assuming the owners get the issues fixed. Overall somewhat disappointed but managed to make the best of it - it was the Holidays so ... perspective.

We really enjoyed the house and the beautiful setting. We had a bit of an issue with the pool and spa heat. Other than that it was a very nice stay!

Exceeded expectations

All was exactly as expected. Only issue was getting hot tub and pool going. Never could get the property manager to figure it out.

We have many good things to say about this property and enjoyed our stay, but it got off to a rough start. When we arrived, we discovered that the property had not been cleaned after the prior guests - food and drink out on the counters and in the refrigerator, all the beds slept in and unmade, all the towels dirty/used, used toiletries in the bathroom, etc. It was a shock to come into the house and see its condition. On the positive side, the property manager was responsive, apologetic, and arranged for a cleaning crew to come right away. We left the property for several hours and found a place to wait while cleaning took place. After the manager messaged that the property was ready, we returned to find everything in good order. The manager offered to make it up to us - suggesting a pizza party or perhaps some wine. Our group was not interested in either. I suggested that a fair offer would be a refund of the value of the 5 hours that we could not move into the house (i.e., 5/24 of the daily rate), and received no further response or communication. Disappointing. Setting aside this rough start, I will say that the house has many useful spaces - theater, game room, large living spaces, multiple dining tables - and was easily able to accommodate our group (18 people - 3 families with teenage/adult children). The kitchen was large, well laid out, and well appointed (pots, pans, silverware, dishes, glassware, cooking utensils, spices, etc.). I found our bed to be comfortable and heard no complaints from others. Our stay in late December/early January meant cooler weather. It would have been nice if the we could have gotten the outdoor propane heaters to function, but we were unable to get them working. Nonetheless, we were able to enjoy the ping pong table. We paid for the pool and spa to be heated, and the group enjoyed using both. Unfortunately, the rough start was disappointing. It took a day or two to get past the condition we found the house when we arrived and not be put off from using the kitchen/bathrooms or getting into bed. The surrounding area is beautiful. For us, the quiet location was perfect, yet, it was close enough for what we needed. It was a short drive to a CVS or supermarket, perhaps a 10 minute drive to a number of different commercial and retail areas, maybe 30 minutes to the airport. If we return to the Scottsdale area, we would consider staying at this property again.
