Perfect cottage, perfect location. This cottage comes furnished with everything for a comfortable stay. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to anyone looking to visit the Highlands area for a vacation or weekend getaway.

Perfect getaway for a party of four... clean, well appointed, and a short 5-minute drive to town. Owner is extremely responsive and provided essentials needed upon check-in which are not usually included. We will definitely stay here again.

Arriving in the rain after a long drive through horrible conditions I was immediately able to relax after I entered this home. It was the cleanest VRBO I have ever been in and the furnishing and bedding are so comfortable. Great decor, awesome fireplace and the kitchen has anything you could possibly need. Dave the host was great with communication and we were greeted with a complimentary bottle of wine. Location to town is so convenient. I would highly recommend this home to anyone coming to Highlands.

Loved this comfortable home. Homeowner is very generous and much thought has been put into furnishings and supplies. As many homes in the mountains, the narrow rode up takes a little getting used to. In the detailed instructions you find there are actually 2 ways to the house which is helpful. Owner has gone above and beyond to insure his guests enjoy their stay. Highly recommend this home.

My husband and I loved our week at Dave’s place in Highlands so much last year that we brought our friends this year to do it all over again. Spent our unplugged week hiking and enjoying the fall leaves in the area. As expected, the home was immaculate and had everything we needed to relax. We’ll be back!

The property was lovely. Comfortable, quiet, and accessible - with all the amenities. The neighborhood is great too. Dave was a helpful host and easy to communicate with. We'd like to come back.

We loved the cozy, quiet cottage. It is very modernized while maintaining its character of a mountain home. New hardwood floors, new HVAC. Lots of shiplap. Literally everything in the house is updated and upgraded. It is light and airy with just the right amount of outdoor light entering in. Can’t think of any way to improve it. The best VRBO rental we’ve ever had and we’ve had a lot. Less than 10 minutes to Main St., Dry Falls. 17 minutes to Whiteside Mountain. Perfect location. Dave was very responsive with any questions we had and was very helpful with recommendations. Highly recommend.

The owner is very responsive. The cottage decor is well designed and nicely equipped. Inasmuch as we enjoyed our stay, we found the wooded location a bit dark and the roadway a bit harrowing given the single lane. The rear screened porch was great to be able to enjoy the wooded outdoors. I have to say, it was a very good experience and would recommend.

Wonderful accommodations so close to downtown. Extremely comfortable, immaculate, and owner has thought of everything. We enjoyed our second stay as much as our first a year ago.

My husband and daughter were in Highlands to attend a wedding. The house was great. The screened porch on the back was a great place to relax. Everything we needed or wanted was available.

We celebrated our anniversary in a lovely cottage nestled in the woods. This was the perfect setting and we were greeted with a bottle of wine. The cottage was newly renovated, clean, and included modern conveniences.

My family (husband kids 3 and 5 and me) stayed at Dave’s house. We loved it there. The main room is cozy but spacious. We loved building fires after a cold day. You can tell he made nice upgrades to the house, not a cheap renovation. It felt like you were staying in a really nice place that someone really cares about. It was really nice to have a lot of basics in the kitchen and not worry about having to bring trash bags and aluminum foil etc since we cook at least a few nights. Highly recommend!

Lovely property with so many extras! We found out immediately he had an “ALEXA” when my husband called my name. (Which is Alexa.) Lol- we both jumped. He saved the day by having those little extra supplies in the kitchen. I forgot honey. Thank you, David! Great beds, bedding and towels! Heaters in the bathrooms were a real treat in the mornings! If you are there when the leaves are gone- the mountain ridge sunset is wonderful!

The pictures do not do this property justice. This home has it all. It is fully renovated with fine finishes, bright and well decorated with plenty of room to spread out. Upon entering, there is a bottle of wine waiting at the bar by the door. What a nice touch! Additionally, the Wi-Fi is great. The towels are abundant, thick, and luxurious. The beds are super comfortable, perfect for resting from long days of hiking and sightseeing. The kitchen has all the cooking and baking tools you could ask for. It is very well stocked with condiments, herbs and spices. And the long range mountain view is beautiful. It rained one of the days we were there, but with an enclosed back deck, I could still sit outside and enjoy the soothing sound of the rain and the view of the mountain while sipping on a hot drink. The front porch is another good option, as it is covered with rocking chairs and a swing. The driveway is long enough for more than one car and easy to get in and out of. Best of all, it takes only 6 minutes to get to Main Street Highlands for great dining and shopping. As an added bonus, the owner, David, is super responsive and great to work with. On my next trip to Highlands, I will definitely stay here again if it is available!

My husband and I recently celebrated our wedding anniversary at this lovely house. It is located in a beautiful, quiet and peaceful setting and the decor is welcoming and warm. David was very accommodating and made sure we were comfortable as well. The house had everything we needed and felt like a home away from home. Also, we loved sitting on the screened in deck and enjoyed the fire pit as well. Also, the town of Highlands is a special place, and we appreciated David’s recommendations. Group of ladies in 70’s friends since middle school. We normally go to beach together but we decided to change our location. What a great stay! We loved this cottage ! It was clean and it had everything we needed! Owner provided ample extra paper products. Back porch was great for afternoon sitting! I With the cool temperatures a couple nights the heat was perfect inside for us! Overall a great setting and lovely decor! Beds were so comfortable. Cottage smells was delightful no old musky ordor! Loved our stay!

My husband and our small children had a wonderful time! We have been visiting Highlands for decades and this house was perfect for our family. Everything is exactly how it appears in pictures, beautifully decorated and Main Street is a quick 5 minute drive. Highly recommend!!

The house was exactly as represented in the information. Furnishings & decor were top notch. The kitchen was very useable & had everything needed to prepare meals. We really appreciated the porches for relaxing and enjoying cooler weather.

My husband and I spent a week in Dave’s charming home and enjoyed every minute! We fully unplugged from “real life” and spent our days (even the rainy ones!) exploring the many mountaintops and waterfalls in the area. The cabin is extremely well-appointed both inside and out. The kitchen has ample space and supplies for cooking all your meals - plus there is a grill and fire pit out back. The primary bedroom featured luxurious linens, feather pillows, a comfortable mattress, and plenty of space to unpack and store your clothing. Both bathrooms had heaters (!!!) in the vent fan - which is something we didn’t know we needed but now definitely do :) The neighborhood is secluded and quiet yet just minutes from the shops/restaurants in Highlands. Dave is a wonderful host - truly cannot recommend his cabin enough for a relaxing getaway!

A most enjoyable and relaxing home in Highlands. The property is lovingly maintained, great details throughout, convenient to everything. There is a screened porch and front porch for catching the breezes. Can’t wait to return.

The host has the most wonderful cabin...cozy, welcoming, tastefully furnished. Very comfortable furniture, screened in porch, everything you want or need at your fingertips. Very quiet, private, and relaxing. The cabin is completely renovated, with no expense spared...quality throughout. We felt very much at home here and would definitely come back. We loved this house! The living area was perfect for our family. And I loved how clean everything was when we arrived. The new invisible screen on the balcony made for perfect mornings and evenings outside. We truly appreciate Dave’s hospitality. And while tv is not necessary in the mountains, my boys loved that there was cable for the NBA playoffs.

The owner was great at communicating, and everything was as promised—even more than expected. The house had every amenity and was nestled in enough trees to make you feel you were in the woods—yet was just a short drive from downtown Highlands. Would highly recommend this property to anyone who wants to get away for a few days.
