This house is amazing. The views did not disappoint! We consider ourselves fortunate to experience all the beauty and nature Costa Rica has to offer on this trip.
If you want to hear and see the howler monkeys then set an alarm. We woke up at sunrise every morning so we would not miss this experience. We even had a coatimundi that visited the property.
A 4x4 vehicle is absolutely necessary to reach the house. It’s an uphill, windy drive so be on the lookout for critters. We saw a family of deer, a huge snake, and some type of rodent.
If driving from San Jose, you will need to allow 4-5 hours depending on traffic in San Jose. We landed and stayed in the city then drove to Dominican/Uvita. We also spent the night in the city before flying out the next morning.
This was a dream vacation of mine. The beautiful property made it perfect!

We were a group consisting of 2 couples and absolutely loved our stay here.
The view is perfection, the pool was lovely, and the inside was beautiful. Each bedroom was really nice, so no one felt like they were missing out.
Outside we saw some coati and toucans on the property, and on the road up we saw a deer one night, and a sloth the next! You could also hear howler monkeys (though we weren’t lucky enough to see them).
We would absolutely stay here again. The road up the mountain is part of the fun, but you do need a sturdy 4 x 4 (as stated in the listing).
The restaurant partway up (Scala) was amazing as well.

Spectacular!
I would definitely recommend staying here. Villa Oro Verde was beautiful! And the views of the Pacific Ocean and the jungle were gorgeous! The house was stocked with everything we needed. The description and pictures on this listing are very accurate.
We enjoyed swimming in the pool, grilling out, and just enjoying the views.
The drive up, once you turn off the highway, was about 25 minutes on a somewhat bumpy, curvy, and at times steep road (a 4X4 vehicle is definitely required), but it was well worth it!
And lastly, the people at YouGetHere Property Management were great. They met us at arrival and departure, were available during our stay to answer our questions, helped us set up zip-line and kayak tours prior to our arrival, and were overall professional and kind.
