I thought we had picked a great house, pictures looked great, location was great, but…. HVAC and Heating did not work first night and next day, plumbing backed sewer up and flooded bathroom and hallway, plumber came out said it’s fourth or fifth time he has had to fix and owner want fix actual problem, sewer water was seeping out of cracks in floor and around the wall in bathroom rest of the trip and had to use all our towels to soak water, the lady on the island said we could wash our own towels, dishwasher stopped working, lights in kitchen started flickering without switch on, found mold on closet door and door casing, cobwebs in all rooms, a lot of dust on the walls and ceiling fans, and by end of stay smell of sewer was bad so we left day early. Asked for refund and have not heard back from owner.

Overall nice place for money. Only bad part was getting kids on bike across main road on the way to beach but other than that it was nice.

This house was beautiful. So many thoughtful things and so clean. Beautiful decor and super spacious. We rented a golf cart for the week because the walk would have been too much to the ocean. The island has paid parking but the golf cart company bought the weekly pass for the cart. I would highly recommend renting a golf cart or buying a weekly parking pass. You cannot get easily to the beach from the house,but the house is worth it. There was everything we could need for the beach at the house. There was an outside shower and a fenced in back yard and the neighborhood is quiet and super close to the dog park. There are not sidewalks but the streets are safe to walk. We put the dog in the golf cart because it was 90-100 degrees the days we were there. We could almost all of our meals and the kitchen had everything and super clean. The beds were so comfortable. There is not a negative thing about this house or host. It felt like home.

Everyone was so helpful and friendly- especially Shelby and Mark! The house is spacious and well maintained. The yard, hammock, and grill were excellent extras. Oak Island is so lovely. We can’t wait to return!

Very clean and well stocked. Also very comfortable. Fenced in back yard is perfect for our fur babies and easier on us. Only one very small step into front door door made life easier for hospice foster , who is failing. And for me who had recent knee replacement. We loved the location.

This was a great little place to stay. When we go to the beach we are simply looking for a place to sleep because the rest of the time our family enjoys the ocean and sand. The only issue that we had was the WiFi passwords given wouldn’t work. Luckily the TVs were already connected. Phones and laptops couldn’t connect. Again, it was a clean, simple, place to stay.

If you can find another location to stay in your budget I suggest stay there instead. I really thought I had done my homework when I picked this house. I so understand that people make mistakes and I totally understand that but don’t lie about it be honest and don’t throw your housekeeper under the bus for your mistakes. Long story short the owner forgot that she had back to back families coming into the house one family leaving at 11:00 am and us coming in at 4:00 . She thought we where not coming until the next day at 4:00 we walked into a mess. The trash had not been set out for the trash company to pick up that was discussing with trash over flowing and flies then thank goodness we where leaving when there was a snake right where all that trash was piled up. other then that if it was cleaned correctly and the trash cans dumped it would be a nice place to stay. We made the best of a bad situation. We also had to fix all of the remotes for the TVs and buy a new air filter for the house the owner did offer to pay us for that but we didn’t want to inconvenience the housekeeping to have to come bring us the money. Best housekeeper ever!

My family enjoyed our stay and had great time during our stay. The house is beautiful, cozy, clean and well stocked. The beds are comfortable. The beach is few minutes drive away. Kelly was a great host. Would definitely come again.

We had an amazing time! The owners have really thought of everything! There was nothing missing at all. There's even an umbrella and beach toys available. Very clean and comfortable and plenty for the kids to do. The communication and check in process was fast and easy. Would definitely recommend!

We have rented several homes on oak island but this one was truly special! Perfect for our family and fur baby! Great communication with owner and had everything we needed! Would definitely stay again! Love this one!

The inside of the house was beautiful, neat, and well-stocked. The outside needed a little TLC - or a lot. The stay was wonderful - comfortable beds, awesome showers, plenty of room, and a great kitchen. The only hitch was on our way down I tried to contact the owner and it took over four hours to get back to me. When we got there she hadn't told me how to get in the house. I asked the neighbor, but they didn't know. There wasn't anyone local I could ask. I only found the keys by accident. Considering how many of us had to use the bathroom by then, it was a very close call!

Nice place, not a 10 minute to beach more like 20 it's about a mile. Wish grass would have been cut couldn't go out in back yard which would have been a nice place, the fridge was on the brink of quitting we restarted it and turned it up to 7 to try to keep our food cold. I never received check in details, but the ex house keeper showed up and told me what to do. Thank goodness. But other than that I would stay again the house is really nice on the inside and plenty of room. They have a good stocked kitchen and each room has a TV so you can spread out if you like.

Nothing but great things to say. Close to a non busy beach and always able to find parking. The place was so nice...worth it in all ways.

We had a party of nine two adults and 7 kids. With TVs in almost every room and three blocks from the beach we had a blast! Kitchen was great size! The Master bedroom and bath were fantastic!..We were right in the middle of the island so quick and easy access to everything!!

Great location, two minute drive to free beach parking. Awesome budget find in Oak Island with good space, super comfy beds, and cute outdoor space. Could benefit from a clearly communicated check in process and a more accurate description of house amenities. Overall we greatly enjoyed our stay and would be back in the future!

This home is very clean and updated, close to great food and shopping. Very well stocked with anything u could need. Nice backyard for relaxing after a day at the beach. Would definitely recommend for anyone looking for a nice, affordable oak island getaway.

This house was everything we expected and more! The house was very clean, awesome decorations and had all the amenities we needed in the house. It was centrally located on Oak Island, making it easy and convenient to get anywhere on the island in a very short time. We would definitely stay here again! Patrick & Jamie

The house was very clean, spacious and had anything you would need! We had a wonderful time!

We loved the house and location. It was super comfortable and would definitely rent again! The only thing was that the backyard was not usable as there were mothballs scattered everywhere which is not only super toxic for dogs but the smell was so bad that we were not able to sit out there at all. We did let the owners k ow and the response was immediate . They sent a super sweet lady Brooke out who cleaned up all the brush and mothballs as best as possible. However the smell lingered. I would definitely recommend to rent with a pet as it was just super cute even had a doggie bed, just make sure to inquire if backyard is usable if that’s important to you!

Our family has enjoyed the vacation and would highly recommend this rental to those considering it. The house is well stocked and clean. Our communications were excellent, even with our need to extend a few days. Don't pass up this property. You will love it just as much as our family has.

Perfect little getaway on Oak Island . Nicely remodeled and very convenient to grocery & a beautiful short walk to the ocean . Hosts were very accommodating and prompt in responding. Enjoyed our stay!

We really feel like we hit the jackpot in finding this home. It is clean, cozy, perfectly decorated and had everything we needed. The kitchen is nicely stocked and had everything you could think of and more. We couldn’t believe how comfortable the beds were. We have never rented a home with beds as comfy nor have we ever slept so well. The hosts were wonderful and accommodating and always got back to us quickly. They really thought of everything. They even had a pack of toothbrushes in the bathroom in case anyone forgot. Also had little mini deodorants and shower gel and lotion. They really went above and beyond. Will definitely be returning. We have definitely found our new “go to” rental. Location was also great with beach and restaurants/shops nearby. Thank u for opening up your beautiful home.
