Pros: This is our second visit to Campoverde and it wont be our last. This time we stayed in Casa Kip as we knew this particular road and location in the village due to a previous stay just around the corner. I can't really add anything to the description of the villa as the photos say it all. I will just say that everyone connected with this booking have been a delight to deal with and that helps so much with a holiday booking. Our whole holiday was a delight as you have the beautiful villa and just down the road (5 mins walk) is a great restaurant with a huge outdoor pool and just over the road from that are a few tennis courts and football pitches (if you have the energy). twenty minutes walk and your on the main street of the village with lots of restaurants and a few shops. There was a grand opening of a new village square on the weekend we were leaving, that also looks great and will probably be hosting events during the summer. Just off the main street there is a decent sized supermarket which should have everything you need for a week or two and they have an excellent variety of wines, beers and soft drinks. There are some larger supermarkets in Horadada and we did visit there but I'm starting to think that if your good on your feet and don't mind the odd hill you could holiday in Campoverde without a hire car. There are taxis in the village (english speaking as well)and if you're not going to be traveling too far from your beautiful villa you don't really need that hire car, mine sat on the drive 80% of the time. Once this villa is highly recommended the pics say it all, yes it really is that good.

Pros: We have just returned from a 12 day stay at Villa Kip. Campoverde is a simple 50 minute drive from Alicante airport (Murcia much closer). The property is as advertised in a really quiet location overlooking a nature reserve and orange orchards. The villa was immaculately clean. I liked the cute 'Kip' theme of ceramic chickens, it made it feel homely. The furnishings in the living room are showing signs of wear and tear but acceptable, and the kitchen is really well equipped. There are an abundance of outside loungers and chairs. We wanted a hot tub as were not expecting to use the unheated pool, however due to the heatwave (27 degrees) we did actually use it to cool down. The pool area is fairly private behind a high hedge. There is a maintenance man named Michael who met us on the first day at an agreed time, and was very helpful regarding any questions we had, he came back and checked on the hot tub and did the pool cleaning, he was super friendly. The main terrace off the living area has lovely views and as well as zoning out watching the farmer tend to the trees, we saw lots of birds, bats, dragonflies and a squirrel came into the garden a few times. The villa is on a very quiet road with maybe 5 other villas, at one end there is a nice restaurant (Meson Rio Seco) where we enjoyed a tapas lunch on their deck, and in the other direction you can take a pleasant walk adjacent to the nature reserve which joins the road to the main area of Campoverde in less than 15 mins. There is a steep hill at the end of this lane before you access the main town, however as a family of mixed fitness levels we managed fine and enjoyed the exercise. This takes you straight to a bank and a well stocked supermarket, and another 5 minutes brings you to several restaurants. The nearest beach is a 10 minute drive from the villa directly through Pilar de Horadada high street and out the other end (CV-925) to the beach with parking. We had a really fantastic lunch at Chiringuito Pirat (? Pirate cafe) with fried sardines and well presented salads, sandwiches and potatas bravas, it was probably one of the nicest meals out that we had. Further along the coast a 5 minute drive is playa Jesuitas at Torre De Horadada which has a tree shaded square just off the beach area with cafes, and a couple of ice cream parlours facing the marina. Both of these beaches seemed to have safe shallow swimming for kids and the water was really clear. The dry river bed is interesting though we only walked a short part of it close to the villa. Due to the heat wave we didn't want to do any sightseeing and preferred short walks and trips to the beach, but if you research the area there is lots to do. We tried a few supermarkets including the local Aldi in Pilar de Horadada but to be honest the local supermarket was as good as anywhere else. The communication with the owner and the booking process was simple and he was really helpful. I would stay here again and I would recommend to anyone wanting peace and privacy but access to amenities.

Pros: Wonderful villa. Had everything and more to make for a relaxing holiday. A little tricky to find first time but in a beautiful setting at the edge of the Rio Sec. Car is essential but there are a few good restaurants close by. TV has few/no channels in English which may be a problem for some families but we used Internet to entertain the youngsters in the evenings.
