This is a super nice place it actually gave me ideas on upgrades to my place back home. Your just two streets from Main Street McGregor so you can walk there. The backyard and deck are relaxing to hangout on. If you looking for a place to stay in the area I highly recommend this place it's really nice they do a great job.

We were meeting friends near McGregor and this was the perfect place for my husband and I to stay. It was one of the few places that allowed pets and also had a fence area for him to run around. The rental was really well kept and everything was perfectly clean. The king bed was also really comfortable. Thanks so much for the great place to stay!

The home was very comfortable as a base point of exploration. Even on the rainy day the home was cozy enough for lounging inside. We saw deer next to the home. Its wonderful to find a location that accommodates us having a dog.

A weekend in McGregor IA to attend a family funeral. Our hosts were amazing from the time we booked till we left to check in w/us on our accommodations. The property is a beautiful home w/ all new amenities plus dog friendly. We had access to a full backyard for our dog plus able to grill out & sit on a private balcony to enjoy meals & overlook downtown McGregor! We highly recommend this property. Super clean & has everything you need to feel like you are @ home.

On the view your rental page where I was supposed to get the address and how to check in, it would not open anything up so we could find out the info we needed. Since I grew up in McGregor, I was familiar as to where the property was just from the map you had. There was no address on any of the forms

The vrbo House on the Hill was fabulous! All was wonderful and just as pictured and described! The town of McGregor, Iowa was like we had walked into a Hallmark Movie! The town was a picturesque river town! We will return! I recommend this vrbo!

We stayed at the House on the Hill instead of getting a hotel room-- totally worth it! It's within walking distance of downtown McGregor and a short drive across the river to Prairie Du Chien. I come down every year for the Great River Road Road Race that takes place at Pikes Peak State Park (bonus, the park is only 3 miles away from the house).
The property was clean and inviting. We look forward to coming back down next year!

We enjoyed our stay very much. For the most part it was quiet, with the exception of the occasional train being heard off in the distance. Loved the view from the patio. The house will be great to see once it's finished, the finished parts were great. We would love to come back again sometime. It was a great getaway from Des Moines.

We enjoyed our stay here! The property is well-equipped and had everything we needed. We enjoyed that I was located within walking distance of restaurants, bars, and coffee shops. Tammy was quick to respond to messages and very accommodating. Definitely recommend!

This was my second time staying at this property. Spent a night there with my grown daughters. Had a great time. Perfect weather for sitting on the deck in the evening. Everything was super clean. Great attention to detail.

I honestly don’t think I’ve ever stayed in a cleaner place. This place was freaking spotless! And that says a lot cause I’m a clean freak.
Also loved that both bathrooms had built in personal heaters so you can make them extra toasty and warm. And the firepit out back was perfect for our fall stay.
The place had just about everything we needed but we did notice it didn’t have a hairdryer or a full length mirror. Nothing major but just some comfort things. Also thers no oven but the microwave worked just fine.
Ther were plenty of towels, extra blankets and even shampoo and conditioner. And if you forget anything the gas station (5 min walk away) has personal care items, some groceries and fire wood. The train is very close and blows its horn at night but it only lasts for like a minute. I wore my earplugs and don’t hear a thing while sleeping.
Overall one of the best places I’ve stayed at and would definitely stay here again!

We walked in and were immediately impressed with the feel, comfort, cleanliness, and decor of the house. Looking for a laid back weekend and easy access to Blues Festival in Prairie du Chein. We were not disappointed. Great deck with large table and view. Loved this little “River town”.

Fabulous 4th Holiday Getaway!
We could not have been more pleased with this rental. From the picturesque outdoor deck seating to the cozy decor and comfy bed. Hands down the cleanest pet friendly home. Our time was spent mostly fishing so boat/trailer parking was a must and the adjacent empty lot made this easy in/out. Highly recommend!!!

Perfect Location and Amenities!
This was one of the best rentals we’ve ever stayed in. It was perfect for our family of 4 and our dog. Everything was spotless and appeared brand new inside. Towels and bedding were clean, comfortable, and plentiful. The king bed was extremely comfortable as was the extra cot in the bedroom. Wifi worked great which is a must for us. The gate on the deck stairs allowed us to hang out on the deck and not worry about our dog running down. Beautiful views of McGregor and the river. We sat on the deck every day to listen to the birds and noticed that a hummingbird sat on the wires across the road throughout the day every day. It was an unexpected delight. We walked down to get dinner at Old Man River one night which was very good. It was the perfect location for us to visit the Rendezvous in PDC across the bridge and enjoy the beauty of the Driftless. Would highly recommend this rental! We’ll be back!

We had a lovely one night stay at this adorable place in McGregor after hiking at Effigy Mounds and Pikes Peak. Everything here has been very nicely remodeled, was extremely clean, and comfortable. Perfect for 2 adults and 2 kids. We were thankful to find a dog friendly place too. We walked to dinner and walked along the river afterward. McGregor is such a cute little town. This place overlooks the whole town and the view while sitting out on the deck was relaxing. Thanks again to the owners for a great stay.
