Really nice inside despite motel looking exterior

Ok I’ll start with the good. Great location, updated spacious condo with cute decor. And now buckle up for the bad. We arrived at 10:30pm and the code provided to unlock the deadbolt did not work. We called Vacasa and spoke to an agent that gave us the code for the lock box that was supposed to have a spare key. Unlocked the box and NO KEY. The agent said she would call local management and someone will get back to us. We waited 30 minutes and called Vacasa back. This agent gave us the same run around but this time mentioned she would mark the request to local management as urgent. 20 minutes later no call no show from someone local. 3rd call this Vacasa agent actually said they could reset the code remotely! So they gave us another 9-DIGIT code (come on 4 maybe 5 digits is enough). That new code didn’t work either. Yet again they said they would put a call in for local management. This happened over and over again. At 1:30am we decided after no call back/ no show to go and find somewhere else to stay. There is a lot of lodging at Stowe but not a lot of reception desks that have people working them past 11pm. We went to 5 different lodges before finding someone to check us in and give us access to a room. The saga continues into the next morning. In short someone showed up to the property and put a key in the lock box for us at 11am. Once we finally had access to the room, we thought it was really cute! Bedrooms were large. One bathroom was renovated. The bathroom that had the jacuzzi tub was not. It took a long time for the water in the shower to get warm and didn’t stay warm so no shot of taking a bath in the jacuzzi tub. Wrapping up this horrible experience, Vacasa of VT only gave us credit for the night that we couldn’t access the room. We had to generate a case with VRBO to get reimbursed for the $330 hotel room due to no access. The part that took the longest for them to decide was the fact that we “self-lodged” meaning no one at Vacasa told us to stay somewhere else. WE WAITED UNTIL 1:30am!! Would they have ever told us to lodge elsewhere? This was the worst experience I have ever had and I’ve rented quite a few vacation properties. I’m just grateful we didn’t have young children with us. Read all reviews before committing. Silver lining - we stayed at okemo 2 weeks later at a Vacasa property. Showed up at 10:30 pm, had a 4-digit code and accessed the property no problem. Be wary of vacasa in Stowe, VT!

The location of this apartment was perfect - conveniently located to the Stowe shuttle that takes you to the slopes (about a 10-min ride?) The apartment itself had a great layout - very spacious and well-designed. There were just several things that were not working or available during our stay: the jetted bathtub in the second bathroom did not work (much to our 6-year old's dismay); the hot water in the unit does not get very hot and runs out during showers; no hair dryer provided; oven had some food debris in it that started smoking when oven was preheated (we ended up having to use the toaster oven instead); the kitchen sink only had the waterfall flow available, which made washing dishes a bit challenging. Otherwise, check-in was easy, we loved having the two entryways to store skis and gear, and plenty of linens were provided. Would stay again but hopefully Vacasa can fix some of the above issues!

Perfect get away Chalet. Was just as pictured in the add. Was very accessible to downtown Stowe. Many activities near by to do. Chalet was beautiful and very comfortable!

There was no hot water at all. Warm water ran for two minutes but turned cold after. No one was able to have a warm shower in the evening or in the morning. Other than that, it was a pleasant stay. Unfortunately my negative review is more for Vacasa and not the specific property. We realized a shoe was left behind and when I called customer service, they were not helpful at all. They were going to charge $25 just to look for the shoe. I don’t mind paying the $25 but to pay that and not even know if it would be found seems excessive. Definitely not a personable, helpful company.

The check in was super easy, lock box outside the location. Plenty of towels, soaps, shampoos for the stay. Fair price.
