We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Ashley. We stayed in a room called the speakeasy suite. It was a unique room with a living quarters below the bedroom. The stairs down were a little difficult to navigate for an older couple, but otherwise it was a beautiful room with an interesting history. We could not quite figure out the thermostat and the room did not cool down much during the nights we were there. The breakfast was "grab and go" with delicious breakfast sandwiches available in a food warmer every morning. The location was ideal as we could walk everywhere and/or catch the free shuttle around the historical district. We would stay again!

Our stay at The Ashley was pleasant enough. It had been recently renovated and they spared no expense. Bathrooms were tastefully done and bed was very comfortable. About a 30 minute walk from downtown Charleston but only 10 minute walk to popular and busy King Street. They even provided bikes for further adventures. The only two negatives were the noise and our room location. Because it is close to the medical center/school, the mornings were a bit noisy with trucks and the like. Our room was on the first floor and right by the entrance and so, with those beautiful large southern wood doors, every time someone came in or out of the house we knew about it. The room itself was lovely, especially the artfully decorated and private speakeasy room in the basement. However, because of the room location was quite central to the building, we had to keep the blinds closed the entire stay and so we never got to experience that gorgeous South Carolina sun while staying in our room. They just opened so hopefully they’ll work out some of the kinks - our AC unit wasn’t really working the final night. But overall, a lovely stay.

This property brought together the history of Charleston with the modern comforts we wanted. It was quiet, clean, had great breakfast, and offered a nice porch atmosphere. Parking was included as well! We were able to park and then walk everywhere we wanted to go. We will return!

Clean and comfortable B&B with nice outdoor space. Enjoyed the complimentary takeaway breakfast. Access to bikes on premise at no charge was very convenient and helpful as touring the Charleston on bikes is certainly a favored way to enjoy Charleston’s scenic and historic commercial and residential neighborhoods. Would definitely stay here again.

The Ashley inn was a great place for our recent mini vacation to Charleston. Perfect location on a quiet street, but close enough to walk to the hot spots. The room was and amenities were great, I definitely recommend staying there when you’re in Charleston.

This was a first for us, being in Charleston, as well as, staying at a B&B. We will be back! The room was spotless. The property is beautiful. It's easily accessible, and our grab-n-go breakfast was delicious, not to mention local. The location was perfect for us. We had dinner reservations at Fleets Landing and arrived in plenty of time. It's minutes from downtown, and all attractions. Its was surprisingly quiet, and I got a much needed full night's sleep. I was hesitant, because of the lack of reviews, but I'd go back in a heartbeat, and when we return, The Ashley will be the first on my list of inquiries for lodging. Do yourself a favor, and thank me later.

A great property, close to everything we wanted to do and we spent time just sitting on the front porch enjoying the neighborhood.
