Our stay here was everything we expected. I house is beautiful and comfortable and location is wonderful. The owners were incredibly kind and helped us super quickly and with nothing but kindness. We would happily stay and again!

Conveniently located nearby Metro and in walking distance to Capitol Building. Museums are a few more city blocks from there. Several restaurants also in walking distance. Property Manager was very friendly and helpful. My only issue was there was no handrail going down to the apartment, if you have any walking or related issues make sure you can walk down stairs unassisted. I would recommend and definitely stay again in the future.

Had a great time in DC. The location and cleanliness of the place were great. And it was so nice to have all the amenities a rental unit has to offer over a hotel.

The property was very clean. The property manager was wonderful, quite accommodating. The neighborhood felt safe enough to walk to local stores and restaurants. The manager forgot to include in listing the unit was downstairs, so I was a bit uneasy learning that I was mistakenly trying to enter the occupied unit upstairs. They may have added that to their listing. Otherwise, a perfect stay for my business travel. I would recommend to others!

Property was just as described - and even closer to Metro than anticipated. Very clean, helpful to have the extras such as dish and hand soap available. Rita left the lights in the apt on so it was easy to find the rental for a nighttime arrival. Even printed a parking pass in advance for us! The cots for our 2 small kids were great. Easy to jump on the Metro and within walking distance to most tourist areas for those with more stamina. Neighborhood was great. Would stay again!

This is the perfect location for sightseeing. Lots of good places to eat in walking distance. There’s a metro from the airport, so no car needed at all. There were quite a few mosquitoes but somehow get into the house. My teenagers got beat up a little bit. The only thing that put a damper on our visit, was the washing machine broke. We had been expecting to use it every day. Rita her family were super helpful. They really should have a washing machine that works and can dry clothes faster than three hours. It really threw a wrench in our evenings. Other than that, it was a great location.

Everything was just as we had looked forward to. The wife and I wanted a nice weekend away and this stay delivered. The house’s proximity to everything was perfect. We were only a few blocks from everything we could have needed and we enjoyed multiple outings throughout the weekend for food, coffee, shopping, and sightseeing. When we wanted a moment to recharge, we easily popped back to the rental. On top of everything, our communications with the owner were quick and caring. Highly recommend this stay!

The unit is located in a fabulous neighborhood-everything you want and need is within 5-10 minutes walking distance. The unit is clean and communication with the owner is easy and friendly.

This property was in the absolute perfect location steps from the Eastern Market stop and lots of choices for restaurants and shopping. Communication with the owner was always prompt and courteous. I highly recommend this place to anyone!

I stayed in unit B which is the underground unit. It was very beautiful and comfortable and it had all the basics. The only thing is that it would be best not to stay there with a baby because it's very noisy (the water heating system was downstairs and the AC was right outside the bedroom window, both very noisy). You could close the window but then you wouldn't get fresh air in. Also the AC could only be controlled in the upper unit, so the guests upstairs turned it on all night. Even though the comforter was warm, the cold air still hit my face and I woke up with a cold. The owner is such a nice person.

We loved our stay! The apartment was adorable and perfect for relaxing after busy DC adventuring. The location is perfect- a sweet neighborhood with coffee, restaurants, and shops a few blocks away.

This basement apartment was perfect and close the everything.

Can’t say enough good things about this place. First of all the location. It is literally one block from the eastern market metro stop. We were also able to walk to the Capitol and everything else if you don’t mind a little walking. So many great little restaurants right in the neighborhood, and there is also a Starbucks on the same block as well as a Trader Joe’s, which made it so easy to grab some groceries. The place is stocked with everything you will need. Really appreciated things like enough toilet paper and a little shampoo and conditioner. Plenty of pillows and pillowcases, a washer/dryer, combo unit with detergent as well. We had two teenage kids with us, and they were very comfortable on the two rollaway beds provided with foam mattresses. Couch was also super comfortable, and we were able to sign in to our streaming services on the huge TV for times when we were relaxing. The bed in the bedroom was really comfortable as well, and everything was very clean and nice in the unit. Posts were easy to communicate with – we were able to even check in early because we were not right up against other renters as it happened, which made things so much easier on us with our baggage. Can’t say how much I appreciated a gesture like this, as many hosts simply do not ever have flexibility on this. All in all, we would rent this place again and again, if we ever get to come back to DC! If you are considering, renting this place, you will not be disappointed. One of my favorite VRBO‘s we have ever rented.

A clean and well-appointed apartment in a fine neighborhood.. When we informed the host that we felt chilly in the half-basement, he immediately increased the temperature.

I travelled down to DC to see my college aged son. This apartment was perfect for our needs. Rita was incredibly responsive to a few questions- and we really appreciated all of her efforts.

Great space and location to spend a week working in Washington, DC.

This apartment was lovely, spacious and in a great location. There was a well equipped kitchen, nice couch with large tv and comfy bed. The neighborhood was good with many restaurant options and the metro close by. Our hosts were friendly and very responsive. We would definitely recommend this place and hope to visit again.

If you’re wanting the perfect spot to stay in DC, look no further. Rita’s place is a 2 minute walk to the nearest Metro station, and minutes away from Trader Joe’s, restaurants, the Eastern Market, an any other place you’ll need during your visit. I can’t express how much we enjoyed staying in Rita’s rental. The place was more than spacious for the two of us, and had everything we needed to call it home for a week. Even know we never got a chance to meet Rita, she was able to answer any questions and inquiries within minutes. I would love to come back and explore more of DC and I would absolutely stay at Rita’s again and again.

The location of the apartment was great for our needs. It is close to the main attractions, restaurants, and stores. There is a Trader Joe's two minutes away which we found it very convenient for breakfast supplies. The communication with the owners was relatively easy. They responded to our requests quickly. They accommodated us to leave our luggage before the check - in time. The only thing I would add to the apartment would be a small finishing touch: coffee, tea, and sugar. It is nice to have them available for guests especially if they are arriving late at the property and do not get a chance to buy them at the local stores. We will definitely stay at this apartment again. Thank you, Rita.

The location was spectacular. 10 minute walk to the Capital. Many restaurants within walking distance as well as groceries and CVS just down the street. The Eastern Market area is a great place to stay in. The market itself is not to be missed. The garden apartment is clean bright and furnished with all the amenities you could ask for. When we say clean, we are not doing justice to how it looked. When we walked in, it appeared to have never been used. If we had not read the reviews, we would have thought we were the first ones to use the place. We had such a nice time in DC and look forward to coming back again. We will certainly book this same apartment.

I stayed here for a weekend in DC visiting friends and family. It was walking distance to so many great restaurants, a book store, a game store, a CVS, Eastern Market, and the Metro. It was a very pretty and comfortable English basement apartment.

This property is perfect for exploring Capitol Hill and easy access via the subway (Eastern Market) to the rest of Washington, DC. Nice recently renovated traditional English basement apartment in a well located neighborhood. A short walk to everything you need - grocery store (Trader Joe's), coffee shop, bakery and the famous Eastern Market. Host was easy to communicate with and the apartment was well supplied with dishes, pots and pans and everything needed for a short stay in D.C.

Staying with the Upadhyays reminded me of Vintage VRBO -- it took me back to why we all fell in love with this type of travel so many years ago. From the minute I booked, I felt WELCOMED. They were excited to for us to take in the sites of their city and asked if I needed anything at all to help my little girl's first trip to DC the best it could possibly be. As a mother, I also appreciated all the little "extras" in the apartment: the paper towels, Kleenex, and toiletries left out for us, bottled waters cold in the fridge, extra laundry detergent at our disposal. After traveling into the city in the heat of the summer, it was so nice not to have to run out immediately for dish soap and coffee filters. Again: so very welcoming! While the hospitality was top-knotch, the property was also very lovely. The interior was clean top to bottom and most everything was in the apartment was brand new, but with a very cozy/put-your-feet-up feel. I can't say enough nice things about staying here. You simply cannot regret your decision to book with the Upadhyays. We want to return for sure!

The property was very nice and super clean loved it but the check in was a bit upsetting we didn’t get the code till about half hour after we arrived which was about 7pm and didn’t get through to the owner as quickly as we should have. Overall the place was perfect.
