Upon arrival an associate took care of everything. There was no parking, so he took our bag up to our room and parked the car, then had the car waiting out front the following morning for an early departure to the airport. He took all the worries out of these details which was helpful as this was the last day of our 15-day European trip. The room was beautiful, and the hotel was located near many wonderful restaurants

Staff was great about choosing restaurants and making reservations. Near the center of the shopping district and short walk to many restaurants and only 10 minute walkto old Lyon.

The hotel is clean, our room was nice and clean, fresh water every day, the mattress was uncomfortable, large clean bathroom. The breakfast was good, staff very friendly, only one complaint , I love bacon but it was very undercooked.Other than that it was a great stay.

Great location. Beautiful, hustoric property. Excellent staff and service. Could not get AC to keep room cool. At best in the mid 70's. Not comfortable for sleeping. Hotel ran out of bottled water for rooms and coffee makers. Water finally arrived late on 2nd day of stay.

This place was nice enough, but not for how it is advertised. No amenities, but a nice staff. Bathroom and bed needed to be cleaned more throughly. The bathroom had visible grime in the grout of the tile floor and all over the shower, and the bed was not made tightly to where the sheets slid off after sitting down once.

Lovely old hotel but modernised to a very good standard. Location is fantastic and close to everything. The standout for me was the 2 ladies on reception - so friendly and best service ever.

Location was perfect to walk to all the local sites. Valet for parking was awesome and worth the expense. Plenty of shops and restaurants in the general area. Breakfast buffet was plentiful and made to order coffee and omelettes. Staff was helpful and courteous.

I can’t stress enough how lovely and helpful the staff at this hotel are. They called restaurants for us, a spa to make massage appointments when theirs was full, and answered any questions we had with so much patience. There were a few issues with our room (the bed frame just broke beneath us while we were sitting there) but they quickly moved us to a room across the hall when they realized it wasn’t a quick fix. Even when the lift in the hotel broke, it was repaired quickly but they offered us the staff lift when they noticed my husband was wearing a knee brace. The room was a little strange, there was no door for the shower area (separate from the toilet) so it was just open to the room when you showered. It also made the room warm from the steam. Were a couple so it was fine but privacy is nice. The AC was also pretty weak, they gave us a fan to help cool down the room but it was still warm and hard to sleep because of the temperature. Our room overlooked the square but noise wasn’t ann issue because they have thick glass for the balcony doors. We were also able to use the sauna a couple of times which was a nice treat.

I had a wonderful stay at Hotel Carlton Lyon. The staff are wonderful: friendly and accommodating. The hotel is in the heart of the city. Two metro stops and the central tram transit point at Bellecour are all within an easy walking distance. My room was wonderful. And there are a lot of dining options around. Given that the hotel does not offer a la carte breakfast, I highly recommend Cafe Joyeaux Lyon, a five min walk away, which has the best croissants in Lyon and excellent coffee as well.
