Hotel building was used as a shelter during the war just like the Anne Frank house. Anne Frank house itself is literally around the corner.
The interior decor was quite nice with the bar area looking particularly relaxing.
The reception team were friendly and welcoming.
There are lots of little restaurants and cafes nearby. I ate and the Black & Blie which which was good, also friendly staff.
It’s about a 20 minute walk for both Dam Square and Amsterdam Centraal. I just walked rather than taxi. It was €42 for an Uber to airport if you wanted to go that way, I chose walking and train.
The room itself was quite small, I suspect that is the norm in every hotel in Amsterdam, especially in the older buildings, that was my experience elsewhere too. But it wasn’t really an issue.

From check-in to check-out the whole experience was great. Staff were very friendly and couldn’t do enough for you when asked.
The building itself is lovely too and the room I had was super. Enjoyed the jacuzzi bath a lot!

Classic but maintenance must be upgraded, suggest adding dehumidifier to keep dry the rooms,there were construction outside the buildings, noisy and dirty ,but why not inform guests before?

We loved our stay at the Toren Amsterdam. Checkin was quick & easy. Our 2nd floor room was beautiful, spacious & clean. The A/C was so nice & cool - a welcome relief! We loved using the hotel bikes & stopping by the bar for a late nice glass of wine. We would definitely stay here again!

The hotel is located in two buildings which wasn’t explicit on the site. The non main hotel was just a few doors down but felt abandoned in contrast.
There was no heads up about major construction in the area so you had to cross a gangplank to enter the hotel. There were dumpsters outside blocking the views as well.

The best part of this hotel was the staff, including the front desk, the restaurant/bar staff, and the housekeepers. I loved the decor, and enjoyed learning the history of the hotel. My room was well appointed and my bed was very comfortable. The room was small and my only complaint would be that there wasn’t a dresser or any type of drawer space. I stayed for 4 nights and had one large suitcase. I had to be mindful about the space between the toilet and the sink so I didn’t hurt myself. ( I am a petite woman, so it wasn’t My size that was an issue). I would stay at The Toren again but might ask for a slightly larger room.

Very kind staff, always ready to help out. The style of the hotel is quite extraordinary and cosy in comparison to the boring minimalistic chain hotels, it’s one of a kind. Food and drinks were great. Had some lovely talks with the staff as well. Location is great, walking distance for all things I wanted to visit.
Just sad that the free minibar had no zero soda. But see, I had to search very hard for a minor inconvenience 😅. Definitely going back!
