Being woke up to fiGHTING and screaming from upstairs. The building was old and not to the standards. Lobby was dated and they were extended stay guest. Had I had known I would have not booked.Also loud music being played early in the AM

There was no plates, silverware, cooking pans or anything to cook with. That’s why I get a room with a kitchen to cook. Found dried dog poop under the couch as I moved the couch to find my slipper poop was so dry and crumpled up. Very nasty

Our room was in disrepair and a family's members took was only slightly better. Heavily stained furniture and carpet, including the pull out bed mattress. Room had the odor of a pee accident that was cleaned but needs cleaned again. Very few dishes provided (a set of 2 or 4 is standard for an Inn). The staff were lovely and attentive. I wish they worked for management that kept the hotel in better shape. It needs some major updating.

I chose this hotel because of convience and price. This hotel was also selected because this was my birthday weekend. The carpet in the front room had stains in it. The couch had stains and also tears on the leather part. I had a penthouse suite which means I had an upstairs and a downstairs, two bathrooms, two bedrooms, a kitchen, and a living room. There was only one garbage can and that was located in the kitchen under the sink. There were a few gnats all over the room but it wasnt too bad, at first. I was taken out for a really expensive birthday dinner. The leftovers were packaged up and brought hime to enjoy for later that evening or the next day. Imagine my surprise when we open the microwave and open oir food to it being all the way covered with gnats!!! A $200 meal thrown away because it became infested with gnats. As if that wasnt enough it happend again the next night even though we tried keeping the food in our room to eat later. These gnats were very aggressive. We also couldnt use the pool because it was very dirty and looked like it hadnt been clean in months. This used to be a top notch hotel but now its the pits. On a scake of 1 to 5 I give it a negative 15. I wont be back and I can promise you that.

When I entered the room I entered I immediately noticed the dirty wall and door inside the room. Sofa looked liked it needed cleaning. Pool was atrocious. Didn’t stay overnight.

Pool was broke. Down for maintenance. The two bedroom suite toilets were broken. The tub did not drain. The dishwasher was not placed correctly there was a hole in the floor. Door knobs broken. We checked out after 45 minutes. Go to Fairfield suite or Town place down the street. The place was garbage. When I went down the street other families told me they checked out too. This residence inn is complete garage does not live up to the Marriott name. I am a member of Marriott and this place makes me hate im a member

There were so many gnats walking over the counter tops and on our food while we're trying to eat made us very angry I'm never going back or suggesting to anyone

This was a very last minute situation due to the problems with the airlines the availability of getting a room was appreciated as it was a very long day at the airport.

Shower curtain was moldy. Moved the couch for more space to find wrappers and crumbs underneath. Minimal amount of plates, cups, silverware, etc. Overall cleanliness wasnt good. Stains on couch. Dining table chipped and peeling. Pool was out of order wnd wasn't told ahead of time.

Pool never worked the 10 days we were there. Said the warming elemnt was out. The washer and dryer was broke too. The service was great tho. I would recommend either bigger trash cans in the rooms or a bigger one outside to place our bags in.

When we booked their was a pool that was available for use. When we arrived we were told it needed a pump and it should be arriving within the week because it was ordered a few weeks ago. Well our entire trip we had no pool. It was a 10 day trip and one of the main reasons I chose that hotel. Also I walked into the kitchen area to prepare breakfast and the floor was flooded. The sink was leaking. I called the front desk immediately and we grabbed the towels from the bathroom to soak up the water. We told the front desk we were going to be gone for several hours and they assured us they were going to take care of the program. When we returned the problem had not be addressed. The water was still leaking. I told one of the housekeepers as well that we were going to need more towels as well and nothing was done.

I booked two rooms for a family adventure.
First room - 113, the microwave ran continuously while the door was shut. The tv did not work, when I called the desk for help, I was hung up on.
Second room 211 - the ac did not keep a normal temperature, the room smelled badly of smoke, 1/2 of the lights in the room did not work, the cabinet doors in front of the kitchen sink were off, the room door did not lock.
The website says pool, it has not been open for 3 years and there was a charge for parking in the lot.
I called to talk to a manager a day after check out, she said she would call me back. Never did! This is not worth the money!!!!!

This was the worst Residence Inn Marriott I have stayed at. I arrived 2 hours after check in bc I was traveling out of state. When I checked in they did not have a room ready for me and after a long day of driving I just wanted to get to my room. They told me to come back in 30 minutes. I came back 30 minutes later and they did have a room that I made reservations for in February. They offered me to go to another hotel that would have what I reserved but I had family staying in other rooms bc this is the hotel I reserved first. They gave me a smaller room that did not accommodate my family but we made it work bc I did not want to go else where. I was also told I would get money back for this since I wasn’t getting the room that I needed to get which I did not receive back. I was also told to come back the next day and they should have a room available that I could move to that I reserved to begin with. The breakfast the next morning was not good and there was no one attending to it to make sure that things were replenished when things were out. The staff there was nice but were constantly on their phones and did not know what rooms were available they would have to step away from the desk to go look and find an available room. The next day, Sunday, the person who does the breakfast did not show up so they did not have breakfast available. I have stayed in a lot of Marriotts this one by far was the worst I have ever stayed in.

The hotel looked good at first. Lights in the living room area where broken. Tv in 2nd bedroom did not work. (I had a suite) very dirty rooms. Not enough towels or bedding. Breakfast was pretty much not available. The oatmeal container was empty with burnt oatmeal on the sides. Staff was standing around socializing and not filling foods. Only reason we stayed both nights is because the area was booked due to the dance competition we where attending.

As we entered the room it smelled of cigarettes we didn’t have much time we had to go we had a reservation to dinner with some local friends. When we back and got a good look at the room…Trash in bathroom had not been changed condom wrappers and used cups. Called the front desk no manager on staff to talk to. My 84 year old mom had to take medication and discovered packets had been opened in the kitchen that should have been sealed. I called the from cell phone this time to the hotel and was told manager would call me back it it is 10:52 pm and still no call back. I am afraid to lay down I am spending the night sitting up on the couch! We came up for a funeral tomorrow and this will not be a restful night that I have paid for. And there were all sorts of tissues smashed into the tissue box…I could go on and on this experience has really been the worst, I just wanted a clean place to sleep so I could go to the funeral tomorrow. Not pleased at all!

Staff was very friendly and helpful, but the property was very run down and needed a lot of repairs. The first room we had was left open with the deadbolt and maintenance personal left tools and other paperwork from work they were doing in the room. The front desk was very helpful and expeditious in getting us another room. However, both rooms smelled like smoke and mildew, and we ended up going to another hotel because we were concerned with the air quality affecting us and our small children.

Went here for my daughters 13th birthday. The room was very dirty the chair looked like it hadn’t ever been cleaned. There was stains everywhere. Bathroom was poorly cleaned. There was bars of soap in the toilet, like housekeeping just threw them in there instead of the trash. The worse part was that we had to pay to park in the parking lot. The room had a full kitchen but i had to go back home and get dishes because they had very few pots and pans. Was very disappointed but it was too late to try to find somewhere else to go.

Got a room with candy wrappers strewn around, extra bedding tossed at the bottom of the closet, and non working lamps. No other room was available, and after notifying staff the following day the room was still not cleaned. Staff was completely uninterested in providing any service or offer a welcome

The first thing was that the office got charged me when I checked in when I was charged by Expedia the second thing is that the road was really dirty spots all up with carpet the trash cans work had hard residue and the fan in the living room was filthy just filthy nasty up under your sink nasty and in the heating and cooling area the room where the hot water tank was nasty like they just swept everything up under the door the towels. This place is nasty. Beds need to be replaced not just covered up. Smells like urine as soon as I walked into the room. The pillows were thrown on the bed. Couldn’t find the remote to the tv until I had manager come to the room it was under the bed. The stains on the furniture was unbelievable. I feel like I was at a cheap motel not a hotel. I have stayed at an hotel so nasty!

Very poor signage both from Stephenson Highway and getting onto the property. I had asked the front desk for extra towels and blankets on Sunday morning when the room was cleaned and nothing was received nor did the room get cleaned that day. This was a bit disappointing especially since the staff working at the desk told me he’d take care of it while I was gone for the day.

My husband and I stayed at the Residence Inn Detroit Troy/Madison Heights overnight October 29th. The website for this hotel calls it a “premiere hotel”, which is completely inaccurate. While the staff person who greeted me at check-in was very pleasant, I was surprised there was only one ice machine for the entire collection of suites and annoyed that it wasn’t operational. I had to drive elsewhere to buy a bag of ice. The unit was worn and tired looking, particularly the bathroom. The tub area needed to be completely replaced and there was a dirty washcloth left in the tub. The “fully equipped” kitchen had one drinking glass, one wine glass and one coffee cup. There were two small bowls and three saucers. Fortunately, we were just there overnight. Somebody expecting to be able to make and consume meals on site would be in a lurch. The next morning, I was further disappointed to learn that despite being told at check-in about the free full breakfast (that is noted on the website), that there was no breakfast to be had. The clerk said that “the truck hadn’t come since Saturday”. Obviously, I would not plan to stay at this hotel again and would not recommend it to people. It certainly doesn’t live up to the standard that I would hold to Marriot, which was what had led me to select this as a hotel choice.

The driveway into the property had huge potholes. It was very dangerous especially at night. This property desperately needs to be renovated.

This is an average hotel and low-staffed. Each block is an independent building with 4 units and is next to the freeway. Expect a lot of noise from the freeway. There is no premium amenities or services offered. Since the buildings are far away from reception, you will be lucky to get any housekeeping services.
