It was a mixed bag. The hotel is a bit dated. Feels old school LA but forgotten. Quiet hotel which is nice and staff are professional, nice, and friendly. The room was extremely spacious and beds were comfortable. But they charge for everything. $50 a night for valet when there’s plenty of parking. Plus a resort fee. And optional $20 fee for borrowing a microwave during the stay. Expect to spend a lot. That said, breakfast at restaurant was delicious. I’d recommend it.

I chose this location because they advertise it as having EV charging. After checking in I was told they only had Tesla chargers, and on top of that billed me $50/nt for parking.
For a "non-smoking" hotel the room I was assigned smelled like a geriatric smokers' lounge (and the powet outlet didn't work). After complaining they moved me to a new room which was better.
The bathroom fan sounded like a gas engine windblower - could use some upgrades.
Overall it's not very "Luxe" as the name implies, and I regret spending $50/nt on parking, plus a $34/nt resort fee, on top of the $250/nt I spent on the base rate.

Love the personal service at The Luxe Sunset!

The room had that terrible smell of cleaning solvents that gave the room an uncomfortable stench... The room felt underfurnished and just noyt the kind of space I wanted to spend any time in... TV was small for the scale... and only hand towels in the shower - hanrdly enough towel to dry myself.

I stay here monthly and it feels like family! Alex, Jocelyn and Chris always take such good care of me.

Layout is ridiculously awkward with the hotel split in half. They have the odd golfcart or car ferrying people up and back, but made things painful. The gym was also non-existent due to a refurb that was not communicated. They had moved a couple of items outside by the pool, but with the weather being over 30 degrees by 7am, it was way too hot to use!

The elevator is broken
you had to drag your luggage upstairs
lack of staff
no one was there to take your order /service was horrible

We like staying here - the location and staff are great. The Vista room did not look as pictured on Expedia or Luxe’s website… it was dark with an older design. The shower wasn’t pictured either and it took a huge step-over to get into the shower/raised tub which was a hazard. We thought we were upgrading from the Jr Suite to Vista this time, or at least would be comparable, but the room did not meet expectations.

I booked months in advance and specifically needed two beds in my room. When we arrived to check in, reception informed us that due to a toilet problem, they had only a room with one bed. I’m a very light sleeper and husband snores so was very disappointed. They offered a cot/rollaway bed which they delivered but it came only with sheets and no bedspread/comforter. There was only a wool blanket in closet. Blanket was scratchy, heavy and rollaway bed was very uncomfortable and creaky/noisy. Main bed in room also was very noisy as it creaked every time I moved. Room was facing street and there was a lot of street noise.I got very little sleep both nights Electrical outlet on nightstand was not compatible with my iPhone charger. Tried to get a quick bite to eat in bar before an event but only one person working there so we gave up and had to order room service which was rather slow. Staff overall was nice/friendly. Parking fee of $49 per day to park our car seemed high plus needed to tip every time we went out as the valets had to get our car. Pool was kind of far from our room so we never made it up there. Had not realized hotel had two separate buildings. We got the older more worn building. Decor was a bit dated and dreary in room. I would not recommend it.

This property has so much potential, but unfortunately, they have spent all their effort on the lobby. The rooms immediately make you feel like you are in a motel and smell like them too. The dinginess, the smell, the awkward use of space, and the micro shower are all not worth the $400+ nightly price tag.

Our room was infested with ants. They were all over the bed sheets, counters, and floors. We called the front desk to report the problem in the morning before we left the room. When we came back at night they had taken no action as the ants were all over the room. They finally moved us to a different room in the middle of the night but we found dead bugs in the sheets in that room too. The manager I spoke to did nothing to address our complaint.

We had a wonderful stay at the luxe. The service was really good and the rooms were nice and spacious. The only thing I noticed was a little wear and tear in the hallways and rooms. It could use a fresh coat of paint. The rooms were a little dark and the bathrooms had poor lighting. Other than that, great stay!

I love staying at The Luxe Hotel. It’s my home away from home. Alex and Jocelyn always take such good care of me. This time I travelled with my 5 month old puppy and he was treated like a VIP.

This was a really nice hotel. They accommodated an early check in for me. Parking is valet. Pool area was really nice and so was the fitness center. The fitness center was a bit small and crowded after 7am, but overall this was a great stay

I booked this property on Expedia but didn’t find out until check out that there was an additional $80 charge per day for “resort fee and taxes”!!! The pool was nice, but there were no towels left when I got there at 2 pm and no food or beverage service as was advertised. I felt ripped off by the “resort fee”. The male staff at check in were supercilious and full of themselves. The women were very nice. Overall it was a nice place but definitely had issues and could’ve been a lot better. I probably wouldn’t stay there again.

Love the property and the room itself, but there was a slight bug problem. When we first arrived, there is a rather large spider next to the bed. And this morning, when I was in the bathroom, there were a couple of bugs in the sink.
Also, the TV remotes Did not work, on either side or whatever reason.
Facility itself was great, and the staff were absolutely fantastic. Thank you.

Spent my birthday weekend at the Luxe and it was a lovely room, ppol, restaurant experience. Local to alot of hotspots on the westside of LA.

everything was great....we only found one issue that was inconvenient ....electrical outlets for chargers for phones and computers. There were the ones in the nightstands but just didn't seem to have enough convenient ones.
Otherwise, we loved the hotel, staff and dining room...very, very happy.

Not what it used to be. Way too expensive for what it has to offer. My room felt and looked like a cheap motel room, only the basics. Holes in the wall, no decoration, old carpets, noisy hallway - overall very disappointing. Had to ask twice for bar service, food disappointing, staff not very attentive, parking fee horrendous etc.

Nice room. Steak I ordered was not so good. Pleasurable otherwise.

It was a nice hotel but a little inconvenient because we had to check in at one location and drive up to where our rooms were.
We were right next to the room, which was nice for the kids.

Great experience except for the Valet parking staff. 3 people behind the counter chatting. I had to get out of my car and go up to them and interrupt their chat to ask a young lady to take my key. She seemed completely disinterested in me and just said ok. I had a 10$ bill in my hand that I planned to give the person who took my hey and car. I out in in my pocket and walked into hotel. Last evening I texted valet as instructed and waited.. went down and the valet on duty took my ticket.. and looked for key.. I told her twice I had texted earlier for my car.. she said nothing.. found my key and disappeared to get my car. A young man named Dwayne I believe retrieved my car at another time and was friendly. But it was an issue again this morning as I checked out. 4 people standing around and I had to approach them.. introduce myself and ask for help.

It was an amazing experience. It started with the smooth check-in, Jocelyn was kind and helpful. She had a smile and was accommodating to our needs. The valet staff were quick in getting our car. The restaurant food was good too, we ate brunch and it was delicious. The rooms are cleaned well. It was close to UCLA. We stayed in the hotel for 4 nights for my son's graduation. They have a tennis court and a pool. They also provided coffee in the morning and infused water during the rest of the day I would recommend this hotel. The service is excellent. Thank you.

I stayed for 2 nights. It’s fine but building is a little bit old but team and other things are perfect. There was something which they didn’t mention when we booked on bill about daily charge of $30 for coffee or tea pods or ……which I don’t understand and don’t like .

The pillow weren't comfortable. I couldn't regulate the room temperature and the bar service wasn’t as friendly as it's been in the past, but i DO like this place. The restaurant's menu and service is good and hotel customer service is quite good in general. I like the hotel's location too.
