This property was just ok. We had a problem with the room air conditioning unit. So they switched our rooms which was much better but honestly- this place felt more like a motel. Wasn’t somewhere I’d rush back but it was acceptable for the two nights we were there.

No hot water, room temp water. Office stated a pilot needed to be lit for the whole bldg. Reported poor AC when we reported the water. And also told them that condensation was getting the carpet wet. Told maintenance would be put shortly. We took our room temp showers, dressed and teady for our dinner reservations. When leaving the property we stopped at the front desk and was told that maintenance had one room before us. We declined entry to our room in our absence, but checked back in a few hours later. Not fixed. AC wasnt acceptable until around 3 a.m. Upon checkout, we voiced our complaints and mgr looked at the paperwork and told us that nothing was even logged in about our AC issue. Well, we told her that the carpet is now soaked about 3 feet diameter around the unit. I wonder if it'll be abatement or mold??? Room #302

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room and hotel overall was very clean. I loved the free coffee station as well. We will definitely be back.

This place was literally our favorite home away from home. The staff was very pleasant and polite. The complimentary laundry facility was an excellent touch to making our trip even the more stress free. The only thing that would have set this trip over the top, would have been to be able to access the pool. Other than that, we will definitely be booking again in the near future.

It was an amazing room. Good size, the kitchen was super clean and helpful to save money. The staff was super friendly and helpful.

I gave it a 3 star for comfort because the mattress had an odor, they only had 1 chair in the rooms. Had a nice kitchenette with a nice size frig but no place to eat. No table no chairs. I guess they want you to eat your meal on the bed. No breakfast included, no restaurant inside. Had a small convenient store but not worth the price. On a positive note the place was very clean and the staff was so friendly and accommodating.

Was just looking for an inexpensive hotel that allowed dogs in Mt pleasant so that I could have dining options and be close to downtown. The three employees that I dealt with went out of their way to make sure I had a pleasant stay. Great employees. Was able to walk the golden retriever to Grace and Grit, sit on the patio and have phenomenal shrimp and grits. And, just across the bridge from downtown. Rooms are kind of small but with the mini kitchen, location and great employees I definitely recommend it for the value.

Easy check in and check out, super-comfortable beds and spacious accommodations. This was more of a condo-like experience than your typical hotel room.

This property was great for our family of 5 and the option of two bedrooms. Great to be able to cook in the suite, walk to restaurants and nearby park. Great location to drive to the beach or stores close by. Only downfall was no pool for when we didn’t want to drive back to the beach, but they said Candlewood is getting rid of all pools on properties. Overall; we would stay again!

Good place to stay for pre and post cruise from Port of Charleston.

Place was clean and quiet. Tv was larger than most hotels provide.

We had an issue with the A/C clicking repeatedly throughout the first night of our stay but the manager addressed the issue so we were able to sleep better on the second night. We did not like the layout of the room or the overall condition. For a "brand new" hotel, there were a lot of areas of damage to the doors/trim/chair. The layout of the bathroom was terrible so it was hard to have two people in the bathroom at the same time when the toilet was less than two feet away from the sink and the shower. The A/C was literally right near the bed so all of the cold air blew onto the person sleeping closest to the window which was definitely not comfortable.

Other than a shortage of parking and having to use a neighboring hotel lot, it was a great stay. Quiet and convenient to downtown Mt. Pleasant and Charleston. Restaurants and shops galore, if you are so inclined. Staff was helpful and friendly.

Awesome place to stay, convenient location, the suite was totally equipped, reception staff were very pleasant….will most definitely stay at another Candlewood Suites. The only complaint I have is that the WiFi kept turning off and I repeatedly had to go in and get out completely before going back in. Minor downfall, to say the least.

We liked staying here. The only thing I wasn’t crazy about is that they won’t change out your bedding or linens or remove your trash for you, they expect you to bring those things down to the reception desk and then they will give you a new set to put on yourself. Also it is a pet friendly hotel which we had no problem with but we didn’t know that going in. And parking is extremely limited. But employees were very nice and we really liked the free 24/7 coffee in the lobby.

Very friendly, attentive, dog friendly staff at this Candlewood Suites. The staff checked in with us periodically to see how things were going which I appreciated. The bed and bedding was very comfortable, the room was ample size with storage for clothing , shoes, etc. The flat screen tv was large with many stations to choose from. Loved the always available free hot coffee in the lobby. Mount Pleasant Park was a 15 minute walk from the hotel, a great place to walk our dog to and take in the sunset. My only issue with our stay was lack of hot water to our kitchen sink, bathroom sink, and to the shower. My shower at 5 am started out lukewarm and switched to cold. My husband had no issue with his shower at 8 am. One would think the hot water might run out at 8,not 5! Never got hot water in the bathroom sink, sometimes had wam water from the kitchen sink.

I booked this trip long in advance for my wife and I for one night. I always choose pay at property so I don’t lose my money or have to wait for a refund if something happens. Travel a lot and has always worked for us. We drove 6 hours to Charleston, arrived at 5pm, check started at 3pm. Yolanda at the front desk had my name on a sticky note, said she called me and left a voicemail as soon as I walked in. I had no missed calls and no voicemails and still don’t. She said because she never heard of me they cancelled my booking that I had for months and sold the room out from under us. And at this point every hotel within an hour radius was sold out. Ended having to stay at a Days Inn 1 hour and 15 mins away. Ruined our only night we had in town and not only that other hotels I spoke with said that they had heard that from 4-5 different groups of people the same. They have no shame and don’t give a crap about you. No voucher no nothing either. Not worth booking here as you may or may not have a room when you get there.
