Hi, We enjoyed the view from or balcony. I always thought Lake Winnipeg reminded me of the ocean. beautiful. However, the rooms were not as clean as i would have liked. The balconies/table needed a good wipe down including the railings which were filled with spiders at night. I cleaned it. Also missed matched toilet seat and tank plus finding long black hairs on my pillow cases. I also noticed mold around the jet bath that i cleaned. These small issues can vastly improve he integrity of a hotel .

Lakeview resort is right on the beach and beside the boardwalk going to the pier with local art on the wall. There are several places to eat within 2 blocks, including pubs, family restaurants, and even vegetarian options. The restaurant in the hotel itself is excellent. The airport is close by for sky divers, cadet gliders, water plane staff, and drag racing.

This room cost $230 Canadian. Room decor extremely dated..70s? The air conditioner was one still controlled by flipping tab on conditioner. It was so noisy could not have on while sleeping...temperature that over night low 20s. It made the bed vibrate. No USB ports in room. Ice machine out of order . Cups for coffee and glasses were PLASTIC.(For price would expect glass). The bath towel was small and so threadbare almost see through. Shampoo/Conditioner/Body Wash were on wall of shower. I was already in shower/wet....Shampoo and Body Wash bottles EMPTY! Had to exit shower and retrieve my own. NO breakfast included in this price. Bridal party including parents and other family had planned breakfast morning after wedding. Not only was breakfast not included...breakfast was not offered PERIOD. There was no dining area available! Way overpriced for such dated and substandard accommodation and amenities.

Was clean and comfortable. Staff not overly friendly. Definitely could use some updating.

It is in the center of Town and close to all amenities.

Love coming here but the hotel could use a spruce up or some improvements. The place is looking a bit run down. Housekeeping is average, staff is okay.

It wasn’t to bad. There were here and there some dirt but overall it was good! A little expensive for a luxury Room however I would pay it again because I like the space and roomy area!

Great location but hotel needs updating. Restaurant was better in previous years, very average food now, don’t recommend.

I liked the proximity of the beach and restaurants. I disliked that the hotel had no body wash, very little shampoo, the balcony was dirty and there was too much noise at night and in the morning. We were charged $219 per night and the cleanliness was not even up to standard. We were not asked at check out how our stay was.

I think is the best hotel in Gimli.

The locatiin was excellent. The property is very dated. Our room had a large tear in the carpet that you'd think would warrant a new carpet. The fridge and a/c were very loud. No microwave in the room but a meeting room on our floor had a small underpowered microwave we were told we could use if required. Cleanliness was an issue. The room needed a good wipe and the shower curtain should have been replaced quite some time ago. My wife noted the bath tub would slowly drain and she had to run the water to add more a few times. On a positive note the beds were soft and comfortable and 3 choices in pillow firmness were on each bed. The convenience of the hotels close location to gimli beach made up for the smaller irritants but I would surmise the hotel is resting on their laurels and isn't in a huery to make improvements.

Convenient location, but hotel rwquires updating

The location is perfect, right on the beach. Beautiful views and boardwalk. Fun bar, great restaurants and shopping all within a five minute walk. However, I booked adjoining rooms as we were a bigger group. One room smelled okay but the other room was absolutely terrible. The musty, wet dog smell was so incredibly overpowering. We opened the windows, door, everything trying to get rid of this horrible smell but nothing worked. We ended up keeping the room so we could keep the adjoining rooms but didn't use the second room at all because it was so bad. In the room that smelled okay there were a lot of cleanliness issues as well, for example: when I picked up the little container of bodywash there were 5 or 6 dead bugs underneath it. Overall: the location is incredible, the pool area is great but the rooms are not clean.

The parking stalls were far too skinny. The rooms were outdated for what we paid for. The balconies were great but the screens were ripped so allowed a lot of bugs into the room at night. The staff was good :-)

The property is in need of an update. While clean and offering all the basics required, the room likely hadn’t been updated in 15 years and lacked decanted air conditioning. We had a great trip but for over $200 per night, I wish they’d invest some back into the property. If the same hotel was located anywhere other than this location (right on the lake), I would opt to stay somewhere else next time.

No complaints! Hotel was outdated but it did the job, it was comfortable and in a prime location.

Loved it here! Could walk to tons of delicious restaurants, friendly staff, loved the choices of pools or beach. Had a great time!

The Seagulls restaurant had a nice menu for breakdast and dinner. The staff were very efficient and friendly. There was no safe in the room as advertised. The daily paper is available only at the front desk, so get up earrly if you want one. The resort needs a good update,its a little tired looking.

The property is old and dirty. They charge $220/night and there is no breakfast included. I don’t think it’s worth it.

Clean resort with very comfy beds but could use some TLC. The property and room were dated. The price you pay is for location and that can’t be beat with great views of the lake & beach with walkability to shops & restaurants

The only thing stopping me from saying excellent was our fridge was broken, the hot tub was broken and our screen door had massive holes in it therefore letting in flys…

The location is perfect, it is located adjacent to the beach. Awesome!

swimming pool, jacuzzi, easy access to shopping this is a good thing we liked.

Hotel is becoming dated and needs a facelift.

Starting to show it’s time for a makeover - carpet dirty- furniture outdated. Pool was great and restaurant was as well.

Pretty run down and the shower floor sounded like it was broken. Cracks in the walls and borken fixtures. I'm always afraid to say anything in case they try to blame me. Otherwise fair location and seems somewhat safe.

This is the second time I've done a weekend at the Lakeview Gimli Resort, and enjoyed both times. For the price, there's lots of amenities including pools, on-the-beach location, and close to many restaurants including the excellent restaurant at the Resort.
