The location is very convenient in downtown of Kamloops.

Great place for an overnight stay

Not at all wheelchair accessible like they said it was. Had to drive home

This place is great! Price is good, free breakfast and accomodating staff. Had to make some last minute changes and Supreet was able to accomodate! I will highly recommend this place if you're looking for a place to stay for a day or 2. Thank you Howard Johnson. Neri

Booked a non smoking room and the guests before us clearly had smoked A LOT inside the room, there were burns in the bedside table even. It smelled like an old dirty ashtray. We were only there to sleep otherwise I'd have asked for another room altogether. In hindsight i should have asked. The staff were friendly and the room was clean, just stinky. Rooms are overpriced.

It was a convenient stop on our way to Victoria and swrved our need, however,the roomsare dated and in need of renovation and, even though we were in a non smoking room, there was an overwhelming smell of Cannabis smoke upon entering. I did report this to the receptionist upon check out but was just given the excuse that it was probably people smoking outside. This smell was real Overall, the beds were comfy, it was quiet, and there's a Dennys next door but not worth the money and we wouldn't return.

Not bad for the amount you pay

This is a good hotel for the price. The staff members are wonderful and the breakfast was a nice addition to our stay.

The staff were very helpful. The units are dated but clean. Not at the level expected of a Howard Johnson motel

The Howard Johnson Downtown is good value and close to the hospital which is why I was in Kamloops. The staff are friendly and helpful. The self-serve breakfast is great. The grounds are a bit littered and some items in the room are chipped (doorstep, bathtub). Bathtub plug is stained as well as a stain on a towel. The HJ Downtown has improved its image and has done lots of renos.

Would prefer cleaner room and better breakfast next time we stay, but overall good.

The person at the checkin desk seemed to be somewhat disorganized. But they have a unique system where there is no one at the desk but there is a button that we had to push. It rings in a back room and the person appears. Checkin was slow but we got it done. Then I asked him where there was a restaurant suitable for dinner. He got out a map and showed me a couple of choices several blocks away. I didn't say anything but it seemed odd as there is a Dennys next door, where we went and it was quite good. Our room was on the second floor and there is no elevator. We are in the elderly category so stair can be difficult at times but there were no other rooms available. There was no suggestion from him as to helping us. Once in the room it was OK but the inadequate air conditioning unit was very noisy however we had no choice because of the outside temperature. While the room was reasonable, the motel in general was somewhat run down. The breakfast is included but it was very basic with limited choices. The last straw was the inadequate pillows. We asked if they had more pillows on our way to dinner. He said he would take a look and call our room, leave a message and let us know.. We returned from dinner to see him hand a pillow to another guest. We asked for our pillow and were told that was the last one. What about ours? The excuse was we were not in the room so he couldn't give it to us. We won't stay here again.

Shower was not working

Exactly what we needed for a one night stay while traveling. Basic accommodation, clean. Friendly helpful staff. Good breakfast.

Great little quiet retreat.

Breakfast area, is inattentive and not clean. Facilities are old and dated. Check-In desk is inattentive, and need to ring bell for service. Room is not clean and needs updating, and painting etc. No attention to details. Expensive for 2 star hotel.

The room smelled like animals and smoke. The door had no chain lock. The air conditioner did not work well.

I enjoyed the air conditioning and great breakfast. I have no complaints.

Room had loose wires hanging and several holes in the wall, the AC couldn’t knock down the 40 degree evening. It kept cutting out and just blow hot air, also people were dumpster diving in the alley behind the motel The staff did move us to a much better room when we asked, not sure why they put us in such a lousy room to begin with. Breakfast was very mediocre

The tv remote didn’t work properly....couldn’t turn close captioning off and volume didn’t work. The staff were friendly and accommodating. Old property needing some renovation, but clean.

My room had a bad smell

If there will be 0* option for rating we w would give them a 0! Towels were dirty and we didn’t even get enough for all people in the room, we asked for more and they said there was non available. The shower was disgusting. There wasn’t enough room for four people to walk around the room. Everything smelled like cigarettes, a very unpleasant environment to stay in. Only plus was the complimentary breakfast.
