My problem with this hotel is FALSE ADVERTISING!!!!!!! I did a google search for the hotel in Athens with the best roof top bar with view of the Acropolis. The King George came up near the top. I then looked up the King George Hotel on the web site, and the pictures looked stunning, and exactly what I was looking forward. It also had a picture of the ROOFTOP POOL. I booked and was very excited. When we arrived, I found out that the only common area of the hotel for Acropolis view was the dining room and a terrace - but is totally enclosed with glass, so no outside exposure. The receptionist then told me that their "sister hotel" next door had a rooftop bar which we could access. The 'sister hotel" also had a roof top pool, but we were NOT allowed to access that pool. I did take a peek one afternoon, and it was perfect. I went to take a peek at our hotel's restaurant-glassed in terrace, only to be scolded by the manger. It was very frustrating. The King George has a pool, but in the basement with the spa. There is a pool on the rooftop AS PICTURED ON THE INTERNET ADVERTISING, BUT that is only for the penthouse suite. Super Argh!!!!! As a result of all of this, we spent VIRTUALLY ALL of our stay at the "sister hotel. I felt tricked, and it did not feel good. The sister hotel is the Hotel Grande Bretagne. Overall, they are both very expensive, but if I had to do it all over again, I would have stayed at the Bretagne. Dann Leonard

Beautiful hotel

The reception,the comcierge and the bellboy all amazingly helpful. We came for the coldplaynconcert and the city was overpacked everything chaotic and despite the mess they were super helpful to organize our restaurants as well as transportation for the concert and the airport. Cleo at the reception special thanks to you very sincere and helpful.

Fantastic as expected. Nice staff, very professional and helpful, fine dining. Location is not exactly quite, but really convenient. Just: pool is not in the hotel, but in the next one. The pool’s picture on the website is just for one suite! No parking. And I had to get an update to match the requested room.

Perfect Location. A Bit Busy with Loud Traffic if you Stay (View Side) if you need a Quieter place to Sleep, just request a (Garden View) instead. VERY Professional Staff and Secure Location.You will be Happy there.

Loved it all

The hotel, in general, was great and worth the price we paid. Especially, we loved TUDOR, the roof restaurant. However, the bathroom facilities were below my expectations for such a deluxe hotel. The only major handicap of the hotel is the noise from Syntagma Square, for which, there is nothing to be done due to the location. The staff were very helpful and polite.

Great Hotel, a real 5 stars !

Staff and facility were great, my only complaint is that when looking at the web site it appears that they feature amenities such as a roof top pool - they do not make it obvious this is a private pool - not accessible to public. Furthermore, the other amenities (indoor pool, spa etc) are not actually within this hotel but in the sister hotel next door - Grande Bretagne. Again nice stay but would prefer to just stay next door had I known all amenities were there.

Excellent hotel , staff are very friendly and provided great recommendations for dinner. Location was perfect close enough to all the sites and public transportation but not in the heart of the tourist area.

Location, Location, Location! I loved this antique and elegant hotel. The American breakfast is amazing. I got to eat every morning look up at the acropolis. Make sure you get a room facing the street.

The hotel almost feels like a boutique hotel. Compared with the Grand Bretagne next door it's quiet and discrete. Fortunately, since the properties are linked, you can share all the amenities (roof top bar!) of the GB without having to deal with the bustling atmosphere there.

Incredible staff - especially Mirela, she is such an asset to this hotel! Clean, comfortable, beautiful hotel which I’ll be returning to for sure. Our stay was perfect and everything was so beautiful. The true definition of a five star hotel. Room service was impeccable and delicious also!
