I really like this place. Great cozy place for a getaway. My wife and I found it on the web and went on a whim. Very peaceful place with walking trails, farm animals that you can pet and feed, a playground, a chapel in the woods, and a river walk. The types of accomidations vary from small quarters to entire cabins. Communication with the staff is great. It's secluded enough to be quiet and peaceful, but close to a historic little dowtown with shopping and restaurants. We will definitely be going back.

The complex and grounds was great for the kids but the beds were terrible to sleep in and the cabins definitely need some tending to and updated! But the owner was very nice and interested in our stay

Absolutely enjoyed our stay.Very quiet and relaxing!Planning to be there back in June hopefully with warmer weather we sure will enjoy outdoors better.

This is an amazing place to stay if you want to unplug or bring the family. We love this place!!!

We enjoyed our stay here very much! We wanted a cabin away from the normal hotel experience and this is what it was. The owners go to great lengths to make the experience special, including having activities around the site for kids and adults. We plan to go back in the future as a small family and also take our extended family as it is a great place to have your own space but gather with family and friends. I wish we could have stayed longer, as it was a very relaxing and peaceful place. Easy drive or walk to downtown and close drive to Glen Rose attractions.

We had a lovely time - just a quick overnight getaway. The kids loved all the animals, and the Carriage House even had a few toys for them to play with! It was stocked with board games & movies for a rainy day, information on local restaurants & sights, and even a birdwatcher's checklist and guide. The beds were really comfortable, and there was room to set up a pack & play for my youngest. Next time we come, I'm looking forward to using the fire pit too!

Wendy was very nice and easy to work with. We stayed in the Saddle House. Wendy let us tour the main house which was really nice. Beautiful setting, close to town. Nice walking trail and view of the river. The animals were friendly and fun to be around.

The Country Woods Inn was delightful. Its REALLY country but so cozy. The room had everything we could ask for. The beds were comfy and the house was clean. There was a complete kitchen although we only used the refrigerator and spoons for our drinks and ice cream. The grounds were well maintained and my granddaughters had a ball on the playground and feeding the animals (goats, horses, donkey, geese, bunnies, etc.). We stayed on a weeknight so the barn where they have breakfast on weekends was closed but there were so many places to eat in town that it wasnt a big deal. I do think that the next time we go there, well make it a weekend stay so we can enjoy eating in the barn too. We went to the dinosaur museum and Fossil Rim while we were there. Our girls enjoyed both places. This is definitely one of those places that we will have to re-visit with our granddaughters.

Our Cabin was Great very clean and my kids loved it. We came to visit local area attractions but my kids just wanted to stay on the property. Petting Zoo and many other animals walking the property. Staff and owners were very friendly and helpful with any questions. Great place to get away for two or bring the whole family.
