Very comfortable clean room.
The bar was very noisy. An echo. Sound proofing needed.
Service in the bistro/bar could be improved.
Overall, a pleasant stay.

Cold hotel, noisy room with a view of a service yard!

Stayed 3 nights in family room with wife and 1 yo, tried to book for 1 more night due to change in circumstance and woman at front desk with blond hair and glasses was extremely rude and unhelpful. Asked could we get help to move bags from one room to the next as at the time alone with baby, told nobody there to help. Rest of the staff especially in gym/playroom area helpful.
Separately, the front entrance is a nightmare with those doors that are too small, the ramp is around the side of building but on two occasions the doors were lock so couldn't get in with buggy, have to lift up front steps. Staff watch as pushed buggy and luggage trolly to room without offering assistance, when the room is on third floor and through 8 fire doors which all closed

Really nice team, good quality hotel
I’m not a fan of the Clayton brand as I feel it is very transactional, but in Sligo, while busy they were very good

The hotel was clean and comfortable, staff pleasant but unfortunately the room above ours was a very noisy one!! We did not get much sleep and ended up checking out at 7am due to the noise restarting just before 6am
A disappointing night especially after having a lovely meal in the bar where the service was excellent.

My stay was amazing. The Hotel looks fantastic both inside and out. Get to see an old building like this rejuvenated. Staff were friendly and very helpful. If I had one small complaint it’s the fried breakfast could have been warmer.

We had 2 rooms booked and arrived before the scheduled check-in time. We registered and were advised that we would receive a call when the rooms were ready. No call was ever recieved and so we eventually arrived back after check-in and the rooms had already been prepared. Room was clean but generally a little on the tired side. Nevertheless the stay was comfortable enough.

Clean. A bit of a walk from the town, town is quiet during the week. V good for business

Stayed for 2nts (Thursday & Friday) at the beginning of July 2024. We had a family room (basically 2x adjoining rooms with 1x bathroom); bathroom facilities were dated and in need of refurbishment. Our room seemed like an age to get to too! In addition breakfast was carnage (overcrowded for the size of area) and for the additional cost we felt this wasn’t great value for money. The use of the pool was a bonus, (although we had to purchase swim caps so bring them with you if you want a swim). Overall it was an expensive 2nts (circa £600). Won’t be rushing back!

Great stay. Lovely clean and friendly staff.

An absolutely stunning property in an old psychiatric hospital outside of the city centre with large rooms featuring all the amenities you would expect from a large hotel. Despite being very busy with a conference downstairs, our room was quiet and comfortable. Staff was lovely. Would not recommend to anyone travelling without a car as the hotel was far away from the more walkable areas of Sligo.
2.5
Beautiful historic building converted to a hotel. 6 min drive to center of Sligo town plenty of safe parking. Superb grounds. Staff are helpful too. Rooms are amply sufficient.

Very well located, rooms lovely and spacious. Breakfast excellent. Great quite swimming pool and gym
Huge queues for breakfast if you arrived after 9 am/ room service not good, bathrooms never cleaned and dirty mugs not replaced or washed/ no snacks at the bar

We had a great stay in Sligo! Really enjoyed the hotel and location.

The hotel was located in an area that just wasn't walkable. From the outside, this looked like it would be an historic property and probably have a lot of charm. The exterior was completely different from the very bland and charmless interior. Nothing was wrong with that; I was just expecting something different. The worst thing for us was that we had two walk an extremely long way to our room-- down several long hallways and through four or five sets of doors (none with automatic doors) and I walk with a cane. We won't be staying there again.

Duvet far too hot 10.5 tog and no blankets available to just use with a sheet . Housekeeping did bring me 3 sheets so that worked .

Property is beautiful, rooms were lovely. The only issue we had was with the shower, (i think the mixing valve is going). Showers ranged from close to scalding to freezing. They did send someone to look at it and offered a new room but one person in our group was already asleep so I declined. But aside from that, would still stay here again.

Wonderful bed and pillows. Good food in restaurant. Staff walked us directly to our room with our luggage and helped me print out something in the morning.

Absolutely beyond beautiful hotel. The rooms were so clean and luxurious with lovely tea and even a Yeats water for our arrival. I enjoyed the pool & sauna, and the staff there in the leisure club were very helpful and kind, he lent us swimming hats so we didn’t have to buy them. Amazing views out of the window, and a wonderful bathtub. Perfect hotel stay.

We made our reservation six months in advance and stayed there in May 2024. At check-in, we were assigned and paid for a king room as reserved. Unfortunately, the room had been painted recently, and the paint fumes were very strong which made breathing uncomfortable. Subsequently, we were offered a different room, but it had a diesel generator operating continually outside our window and a view of large trash cans. This was unacceptable as well as an ADA room offered. Finally, we were provided an L-shaped room with two small beds with no reduction in price. This facility looks like a castle from the outside but is a retrofitted former psychiatric hospital with windows up high and little natural light. It retains its institutional character and does not provide good value for the 199 euros/night quoted.

The staff was pleasant. The place was old and dirty. I would skip it

A beautiful setting and adequate accommodation with great buffet breakfast and evening food options.

This historical property's facade and surroundings were awe inspiring . The hotel itself while clean and comfortable is managed like many cookie cutter hotel chains and that is not necessarily a bad thing. You can checkin at a kiosk and get your room key automatically and checkout online. Breakfast was buffet style and very generous.

Very nice hotel in an interesting old building. Restaurant was very good. Gym was reasonably well equipped but very busy. Sauna and hot tub were directly beside pool full of children, great for a family but not ideal for relaxation.

Excellent hotel. I would highly recommend.

I prefer smaller hotels or B&Bs while in Ireland but this was only place available in Sligo. This is a big hotel with an interesting history, beautiful grounds, a couple of restaurants, a big kids play area. It has long corridors you can get lost in to get to your room but the family room was incredibly spacious. The hotel is not walking distance to anything so you need a car. No personalized service really, probably good for big groups traveling together. So it just depends on what you like!
