The Odinsve Hotel was very resonsive to pre-checkin inquiries. Checkin was quick and efficient and we were able to checkin early after an overnight flight. The spacious room on the top floor had its own balcony with great views of Reykjavik. The bed was very comfortable and the room and bathroom were very clean. Hotel staff gave us dining recommendations, allowed us to store our luggage, and arranged a taxi to pick us up. We stayed in the Hotel Odinsve 32 years ago and it's our favorite hotel in Reykjavik.

cleanliness, location, and staff

My husband and I loved our 2-night stay at Hotel Odinsve! The location was excellent - it was about a 6-minute walk to the tall, beautiful Hallgrímskirkja church, which is a major landmark in Reykjavic and a popular bus stop and tour pick-up spot. There are numerous stores and restaurants within very close walking distance, and if you're up for it, major attractions like Perlan, the Lava Show, and FlyOverIceland are just 2.2 - 2.5 miles away. The hotel itself has a lot of charm and is very different from a chain hotel. For instance, the room key is an actual key - when was the last time you saw that?! The room was clean, quaint, and had everything we needed. It even had helpful features like a heated towel rack, which came in handy for drying swimwear after going to the Blue Lagoon. Every staff member we met was friendly, helpful, and welcoming. I would definitely stay at Hotel Odinsve again!

Nice room with comfy beds and good bathroom. Was leaving for an early flight so didn’t get to try breakfast, sadly.

The front desk staff wasn’t very friendly. The room was sparse and didn’t have a thermostat to control temps. We had to keep windows open and the square across from the hotel was exceptionally noisy at 5AM. Would not choose it again.

Great location and very nice front desk. Super helpful with taxi’s and airport transfers. Great location to down town and the central bus station to get to and from airport

The hotel was convenient to the city centre, the staff were very friendly and helpful advising us that our room was ready by phone well before check in time. Room was practical and the bathroom spacious. Could do with a little shelf in the shower to hold the soap bottle etc.

The staff was amazing. One of our friends had an emergency and the night manager, Gunnar, was amazing. Then another couple had flight issues and again Gunnar helped.

Beautiful location downtown Reyjkavik. Friendly. Clean, Convenient. Nice place.

The staff was helpful and the hotel is close to many amenities like restaurants, bus and shopping. The bathroom and shower are small, but we worked with it! Overall, a nice, clean and comfortable place.

Central location. Very friendly staff. Five minutes walk to many restaurants and shops. We can see Church of Hallgrímur from our room. I would stay here again.

Wonderful location and great front desk help! And the breakfast at Snaps was filling, fast and cozy - great before a day of touring! One thing to note - the apartments are right off Rainbow road…such a fun location, but noisy at night. We were there on the summer solstice so maybe we hit a particularly noisy time??

The hotel was very nice but our room had a noisy humming. We complained and they gave us another room and breakfast on the house. The staff was very helpful.
