Stopped here for one night before getting an early ferry out of Oban. Perfectly adequate room with plenty of space for two people and a dog. A broken boiler meant the shower in our room was not working, but this was well communicated to us prior to our stay, offered use of the shared bathrooms in the building instead and given generous refund for the inconvenice. Clean premises, fast WiFi and friendly staff.

Accommodation and staff were excellent. Breakfast was okay, abit burnt particularly the bacon, difficult to eat. On site free parking was appreciated. In this price bracket £68.00 for room plus £9.50 for breakfast, you would expect everything to be right.

I spent two nights in a private room, with an ensuite shower and toilet. This exceeded my expectations in its cleanliness, warmth and comfort. The man in reception was very helpful and friendly, the wifi was very good, the lounge and kitchen facilities were excellent and overall I was delighted with everything. I chose the hostel as a place that was dog friendly and in a superb location in Oban and was not disappointed at all. Very good value for money.

We stayed one night here as we needed a bed for the night before getting the ferry the next day. Room was spotless and beds were incredibly comfortable. Although there was no catering on site due to covid, there was a seating area and utensils provided if you wanted to bring food in to eat, and there was a constant supply of tea+coffee available. Really pleasant stay, would stay again.

The girl at the reception was friendly, warm and helpful with regards to local area information including parking, food and drink. The Hostel is well priced and in a great location. Parking is limited, so arrive early. Quiet good sized rooms for a good nights sleep.

Oban Youth Hostel is a friendly place with a great kitchen and communal rooms. I do think older residents should get priority on the lower bunks! 😂

This hostel is absolutely great and it is a HI-hostel affiliate. It’s not one of those, disco in the bottom type places, but it’s a great place none the less. The staff was all awesome as well! I would definitely stay again.

A friendly hostel right by the sea. I stayed in the female 6 dorm on the 1st floor and had an amazing sea view. Met some lovely people from all different places. Reception was really helpful and lended me a hair dryer when i needed one. There is a big shared kitchen to make any meals you want. Theres also breakfast available- either cooked or continental for extra cost. Its only a 10 minute walk down to the shops and restaurants on the front (about 15ish to train station) and a nice walk on a sunny day. Would definitely recommend!

Nothing not to like. Comfortable bed, nice staff, clean, and plenty of options for anything else you need. All the basics you want and need from a hostel.

We were surprised by the cleanliness and pleasant feeling of the Oban Youth Hostel. The staff were awesome and very helpful. The only issue was thinking we were renting an en-suite room with three single beds, but it turned out that it was a bunk bed and a single. It was a bit difficult for this older lady to climb up and down on that silly bunk bed for the three nights we stayed. So, make sure you specify and don't trust the picture that shows three non-bunk bed singles!
