Great place, centrally located if staying in Tavira

we arrived at 14h30, but had to wait till 15h00 to get our room, although this was ready for check-in!! Bathroom was continuously smelling badly!

Very enjoyable stay. Good value. Friendly staff. Nothing a problem. Breakfast very good and exceeded our expectations. even had bacon and eggs as well as full range of continental breakfast items. Hotel is well located for amenities and easy walk into town centre. Our river view room with balcony had lovely views.

Excellent location and amenities. Nice staff who were very helpful when i arrived letting me know about the area, thank you Claudia! Authentic portugese feel to the room and hotel. Room 100 looks over the river which i would ask for again. Also the restaurant downstairs was very good.

Friendly front desk and free parking (limited) at local gym/town parking lot. Great location, but property definitely needs to updated. No frills stay.

Very helpful front desk chap carried our cases up for us. Excellent breakfast, comfortable beds, great location and great prices. Only thing missing which would be handy is a safe in the room.

Amazing location on the riverfront. Ferry directly across from hotel which takes you to the Tavira Island beach. The staff are beyond welcoming and friendly. Hotel is well maintained with a nice breakfast (coffee/tea, juices, scrambled and boiled eggs, bacon, breads, meats, cheese, yogurt, cereal, fruit). There are many restaurants, cafe’s, grocery markets and a great liquor store within walking distance. I would totally recommend this hotel.

Older property but we'll looked after and very central and close to everything i needed. The owners are fantastic!

Lovely hotel in great area beside the boat terminal for Tavira island. Breakfast was great and all the staff really helpful and lovely. Couldn’t fault it and I would return.

The hotel is well located in the centre of the downtown area facing the canal. My room was comfortable; however, it was pretty small—the same thing as the bathroom. If you plan to stay here, bring your shampoo and conditioner, as none is provided. The hotel does not have elevators, so be ready to go upstairs with your luggage, or you may ask for assistance. I would recommend this hotel if you’re looking for the convenience of location and a price range.

Residencial Marés is well located in the Tavira downtown area. At first impression, my room looked spotless; however, once I took my first shower, the water sprayed through the shower door and onto the floor. I had to use all my towels to wipe up the floor. This issue was brought to the owners' attention; however, to fix the shower, they would have to rebuild it. I spent eight days without an efficient shower. Also, although the place was clean, there were areas where the paint was peeled from the ceiling and the walls. I was under the impression that this hotel was recently renovated. If so, there is still work that needs to be done. The owners seem aware of this issue and have not repaired the shower. As I was leaving, my room was already booked for another guest. Breakfast was included with my stay. However, I must say that the eggs and bacon and even the pastries were cold no matter what time of the morning I had breakfast. I would reconsider another place before staying at this hotel for future visits. Fortunately, the beauty of the village of Tavira made up for the struggles I experienced with this hotel. If you plan to stay at this hotel, please bring your own shampoo and conditioner and lotion as none as provided. Also, there was no iron in the room.

Residencial Mares' character could not be beat. We loved experiencing its original bones with some updated insides - showers had great water pressure, everything was in excellent condition, clean as a whistle despite age of original features and comfortable. Front desk host, Senhor Paulo, was lovely, welcoming and easy to talk to. The location was perfect as it is walkable to all things in town and right in front is the ferry to Tavira island. Parking for our rental vehicle was also free just down the street in a lot. Would absolutely return! Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Quaint village, very European hotel, lovely location. Would definitely stay there again. One warning, no lift. You must carry your bags up one or two floors.

The way off going on with the guest at the reception was just great. if you compare with big hotels the staff understand and speaks very well English I like. the traditional and spacious bathroom. And the correct and honest information that the young lady off the reception gave me was also something that i really appreciate.

The staff is friendly and very helpful! Thumbs up for a simple yet generous breakfast. The room is basic yet the bed is very comfortable! Super clean the place. It is also near bus station and train station and right in front of the ferry station. I highly recommend the hotel :)

Lovely small hotel by the Tavira River. We enjoyed our stay. Very good breakfast and enjoyed the roof top deck. Great location. Take the boat to the most amazing walking beach.

The hotel is very close to lots of restaurants and shops in the heart of Tavira. The staff was extremely helpful.

Good budget hotel with all you needed for short stay, near local restaurants ferry for beach and tavira town at doorstep. Paulo on reception recommended local restaurants and areas of interest. We stayed one night for our arrival in Portugal. Hotel is basic, no frills (no cups, tissues) but the bed was very comfortable. The room is very small but very clean. Only bring in your basics. Parking is not on site and you have to park down the road. This was a bit of a surprise for us but it was free. Breakfast was nice with the usual stuff.
