The hotel is old. The wifi password contains the numbers “1910” and that seems a likely vintage.
The hotel has no elevators. You have to carry your bags up a small spiral staircase.
There are no rooms on the ground floor.
Finally, you can hear every footstep and movement in the room above as if they were in the same room.
So if the patron above you rises at 4:30 AM, you will too.

it is tidy and clean. The mattress is quite comfortable. Although the room size is a little bit tight, overall worth the value.

For the money it was fine, take this in mind when booking. Friendly guy on reception. Rooms dated. Great shower. Room was clean till I looked under the bed. Bedding was clean. Plenty of towels. Good budget hotel.

I’ve attempted to contact the hotel regarding our stay but cannot get through via email.
This is a portion of the email I tried sending:
First off, I had to keep popping Advil to try to get rid of a headache from all of the air fresheners that are throughout (hallway, room..) even our pillows smelled like they were soaked in a musty vanilla scent. I did ask the front desk if there was any unscented soap anywhere and there was a bit of a misunderstanding when instead I was offered a spray air freshener.
The room was in a bit of disrepair... the handle to open the window was broken off, the only bedside lamp was a struggle to turn off once on, there was a lot of mould on the shower curtain (and in turn, the wall where the shower curtain brushed against) and hairs in the tub before even using the bathroom. The bathroom door was super noisy just slightly opening it to the halfway point.
For $145 for the night, it was definitely not worth the stay.
I didn’t mention that it could use a freshen up of paint and such. And the mattress was hard and noisy springs (everytime you try to roll over!)
If you have any mobility issues, don’t stay there… there’s only a spiral staircase to get to the rooms from what I could see.
It was good for location of walking to parks and coffee shops.

We needed a bed to sleep in. Period. Didn’t lounge around to see everything, however, the bed was comfortable, the room small (but like I said - we needed a bed). The staircase up was a bit of a challenge but we did it😅

Hotel enforces a strict no early check in policy, then has the cheek to demand people are out before 7am without any compensation and can’t even have the doors open to make it convenient for people to get their luggage out. Won’t be back and certainly don’t recommend.

This is a very old, historic building with some charm, but doesn't rate well in terms of modern comfort. The floors are not level, the air conditioner too noisy - had to turn it off at night and leave the windows open. The shower worked well, but there was nowhere to put clothes or toiletries. It's in a good location and quite manageable for the price, but basic and rated as 2 stars.

We faced many issues in the room we stayed in. The main ceiling light was not working, so we were relying only on the bedside lights. The switches on the bedside lamps were defective as well. The bathroom sink was clogging up every time and would take several minutes to empty the sink. The corridor outside the room stank really bad, it was really difficult to walk in the corridor. Considering the amount I paid, I would expect a little better quality of rooms.

Good location, but that's about it.
They advertise deluxe queen bedrooms with A/C available on hotels.ca, so I booked it, but they gave me a normal room without A/C, and on that day it was like 32 degrees. They won't even try to refund you the difference, and just said there was nothing they could do. So I had to phone hotels.ca, make them talk to these guys, and THEN they were like, sure we'll refund you 10% off. 10% would have covered the difference in cost between the deluxe and regular rooms. But then when they actually refunded, it was way less than 10%, more like 5.5%. So I pointed that out and again, they said it's just how it is and there's nothing they could do.
I think it's called a SCAM if you advertise one thing, but sell your customers another thing.

It was barely adequate for one night. Tge biggest problem is when I opened the door and it was 91 degrees which was how it stayedfor most of the night. Hours in it did adjust to 83 thanks to a loud and inefficient air conditioner. Not recommended for a summer stay.

Downtown place in 1910 building. Pleasant to stay in a hotel that is not the cookie cutter standard pattern. Some reviews talk about “restaurant noise”. What they mean is the conversations at the outdoor dining area right below our window. With the window open we could hear voices but couldn’t make out words. With it closed nothing was audible. My wife thought the mattress was not comfortable. It seemed good to me.

This was a cheaper and decent place to stay for just sleeping, but also be prepared in the Summer time to either bring your own stuff to keep cool as they only had one oscillating fan. I realized after I did not filter my options for A/C only, but it was okay for just a nights sleep.
