The aesthetic appeal of the establishment is quite pleasing, and the surrounding area is aesthetically pleasing. The Powderkeg restaurant and bar provided an exceptional and extraordinary experience. The staff demonstrated exceptional professionalism and provided outstanding service. The only significant concern is the pricing structure of the mini-bar, which may be considered excessive.

The swimming pool was a great hit and it is fantastic to get a new towel for the pool each time we went swimming. The staff were great and helpful with suggestions of things to do and places to go.

Nice enough for an overnight. Very rustic, updating needed. Lighting very poor. Balcony was nice but lots of bugs and no screens

The staff and hospitality were beyond excellent. Everyone was helpful and friendly. They offered transportation and information about the area.

Very charming hotel! Wish we had more time to stay. The property feels very much like a ski lodge and I'm sure is gorgeous in the winter. Just as nice and more quiet in the summer! We ate at the more casual restaurant - great food and enjoyed having drinks on the rooftop patio. We didn't have a chance to swim in the heated pool but it looked lovely. We loved learning that some of the Lord of the Rings cast stayed here when they were filming! 10/10 recommend

The breakfast was very good, the pool was fantastic and the Aperol Spritz was even better. Love the spaciousness of the rooms. We would highly recommend!!!!

The wood finish for the whole building gave it awesomw feeling.

We had a great stay and would love to come back.

Amazing hotel. Very close to ski hills and volcano. Food and beer were great. Very comfy rooms. easy parking. The only thing is ask for a room far from the automatic door as the knock on the wall when they open and it might disturb you at night.

Great place to stay for a day on the mountain skiing.

Looks a little tired around the edges. Staff lovely, but definitely some where new to hospitality. Restaurant menu in the evening wasn’t bad but the food was disappointing especially the lamb rump. Really hope you continue to improve as it’s a great site!

Lamb was a bit tough, my only complaint, otherwise love the place . Stay here every time l come to Ohakune. 👍

Accommodation was great. Restaurant as part of the accommodation was disappointing. You couldn’t book a table for a meal, and therefore couldn’t get a table for a meal without a long wait. Menu was limited as well.

Beautiful spacious room, lovely pool and great restaurant and pub! Everything you need under the same roof! They even had ski hire right next door where we brought our lift pass package.

Upon checking in the ready room was different than one we requested. We requested for queen and sofa bed but was provided with queen and single. But that’s all fine as the receptionist made it work switching to another room. As a result checking in was taking a bit of time to our liking. However, the main reason we were willing to paid $300 a night was it’s advertised to have an indoor pool. They do have an indoor pool but what they forgot to mention was children under 5yo are not allowed in the pool. Hence this ruined our holiday as my youngest kid (4yo) was looking forward to the pool. Also, the room was cold. The staff said the room hasn’t been used for a while and that’s why. The aircon fixed it though. Apart from cold, the room is quite dark. I think they need one or 2 more floor lamps. Verdict: We would try another accomodation next.

Every staff member was friendly and very helpful. The indoor pool was a pleasant surprise, along with the poolside drinks we ordered. Hotel located away from main township (but easily walkable), therefore a very quiet sleep. Well stocked in room bar with nibbles. Quick room service for breakfast & dinner. We would definitely return
