Hotel room smelled really bad like mold and humid. The chair and ottoman were noticeably stained dirty. Paid about $344 for two nights. I don’t consider that to be cheap to have a bad experience. Room was hot. Temperature never went lower than 74. Went out for a day. When we came back our room key didn’t work. We had to go back to the front desk to re-activate it. They also never came to clean our room despite the fact that we left at 7:30 am and didn’t come back until 9:45 pm. We specifically made sure the “do not disturb” sign wasn’t hanging outside of the door. Parking was very limited. We had to park behind the neighbor hotel. I’m not sure who rated this hotel wonderful. I’ve gad better experiences at cheaper hotels. :(

Property was located in a perfect area for shopping & dining. Across from the Tanger outlets made this a perfect vacay stay. We were also clise enough to the college area to enjoy the local restaurants there too. Rooms were clean , staff was friendly.

I went for a mother/daughter trip and we had a great stay. Staff were great and room was clean and comfy. Location was terrific!!

Limited parking and the elevator needs work. Could hear the highway at night. Marriott built another hotel right next to this one and consumed all of the parking. Be prepared to hike to the front door.

The lady when I checked in was very welcoming and friendly . She filled my ice bucket. The young lady who served my breakfast was very friendly . Staff very approachable and happy to help. Their kindness made me feel comfortable and relaxed .

The Staff is good and friendly. The hotel was probably nicer a few years ago. But the maintenance has been a bit lacking. I did not have any hand soap in the room and I was too tired to deal with someone bringing it up.

I would normally give this 5 stars all around because every part of the experience was top notch, accept the parking. With two hotels right next door to each other you would think that would be easier, but there was no parking available and upon my late night arrival from driving 6 hours that day, we had to park on the other side of the next door property in the back. There really is need for more spaces and a bigger lot with that many rooms available. Other than that, the front staff was excellent when I called ahead of time to confirm my late arrival for driving. The rooms were very very clean and the bed and pillows were extremely comfortable. The layout of king room also offered a second getting ready station in the room just outside of the bathroom with the outlets and a light and a full length mirror which was really helpful in the morning.

We visit San Marcos a few times a year to visit our daughter who's attending TXST. This is our preferred hotel, even though it's not the closest or the cheapest. Its been a consistently enjoyable experience, with excellent staff, comfortable facilities, and a nice environment.
