The property was really nice but about an hour after we checked in, we had a emergency and had to leave.

When we entered the room it smelled really bad. The room needs to be remodeled. The door paint was coming off. The bathroom toilet lid did not shut all the way. Bathrooom walls need to be redone. The air conditioner wasn't located close to the bed, it was located by the sink/bathroom.

Our trip was last minute and Castlewood was a pet friendly facility and had a vacancy. Our room was very clean and staff very friendly. Everything was nice. They had no snack vending machine, but was no biggie, since there were stores close by. We would definitely stay there again.

Our visit was amazing. Maggie valley is one of the most beautiful places. The hotel has a wonderful view and they are very friendly. Family owned and pet friendly. I will definitely book here again. Plus, breakfast opens at 6:30am walking distance 😀. Picture is view from room.

Front desk was friendly and helpful. Room was clean. Bed was comfortable and clean. Does need some updating but for the price and a one night stay it was great. Friendly, safe and clean rooms are the most important to me. One downfall was shower head way to low and no ability to move it to direct spray.

I booked a room for my elderly, disabled mother, who needed some respite. She was rudely told she can't have the room because she didn't have the card with her. I am her Power of Attorney because she cannot tend to a lot of her personal affairs anymore; not only that, but the reservation had my phone number in the event the hotel had issues. I was not called. She had to drive back over a mountain road, in the dark, through snow flurries. If the gentleman had not been so intent on denying her access and just picked up the phone to call me this could have been avoided. Very disappointed

This is an older motel that was clean, comfortable and allowed our dog. The door didn’t seal well so the cold air was coming in. We added an extra blanket and we’re fine. The owner couldn’t fix the door immediately and offered to switch rooms. We declined as it was warming up. I would stay there again.

You had to leave dirty towels outside the door in order to get clean ones left. Trash cans were never emptied. Had to ask for bathroom supplies.

Motel is older, we asked for and received an updated room. Bathroom was very tiny and shower head was too low. However, room was very clean - Staff was personable and helpful.
Lobby was not very welcoming- but maybe they are in process of redoing??

We have stayed here several times and it is always clean and the owners and staff are nice and it is around the central point of Maggie valley.

Totally cute motel that we have stayed at before and will totally stay at again! Super clean, remodeled, they allowed our lab and we’re friendly. ONLY negative I have is the pillows were horrible, but simple fix… bring your own!

Very pleasant staff, their children were around but kind and respectful to guest. I like the family atmosphere. Someone has a green thumb they had the prettiest flower garden that welcomes you at the office. Not super updated but clean and comfortable. We'll return.

I was happy to get a room. I had all I needed. The only issue was people smoked outside my room and the fumes came in through cracks in the door. Small insects were also drawn to the light and flew in through cracks and when door was opened as the light was close to my door. Room 215 if I remember right.

Front door was really drafty and let a lot of cold air in. Room was in nice shape besides the draft from the front door. Had to wait outside to get checked in.

Horrible! The hotel has no front desk. Kinda creepy. I reserved through hotels .com and the pics were not accurate from the room I was given. Also the room had no thermostat and was hot. We couldn’t control the AC. We checked in and left to our house an hour later cause there’s no way we could of stayed there. Oh and the TV wasn’t working!

They wouldn't even let us stay there we had no place to go and needed a room and they wouldn't even give me one cause I was local about 40 mins away

I made reservations in advance asked for bottom floor got an email to call them before going they said they didn't know why I got the email to disregard it and when I get there no lower floor like I asked for and no elevator. I have a bad knee and had to walk up and down steps and now my knee hurts so bad I can hardly walk now. If you can't give tbe people what they ask for tell them up front so we can make other arrangements..

This hotel was "just fine"; nothing excellent, nothing terrible. It's a typical older hotel, but the room was clean enough and the bed was comfortable. I only stopped for one night on my way up the Blue Ridge Parkway, and it was perfectly adequate for that. It has exterior walkways and stairs, but that meant I could see my vehicle out the window. It worked well for just passing through.
