My review would have been excellent if they had a convenient way to have cofffee availble early in the morning. My wife and I are early risers.
We had to wait for two hours for the breakfast buffet to open at 7:00 am. A Keurig in the room would have been nice.

If we visit Woodstock, VT again, without a doubt we will stay at the 506 On The River. By far the most comfortable bed and chairs in our room. Excellent complimentary breakfast. Clean, clean, clean. We love visiting quaint towns and this hotel was the absolute best we've stayed.

This is a lovely place- staff really great and helpful. A few things I’d change are the carpets - they let it down - wooden floors in bedrooms and scatter rigs in flier / god mattresses and pull out baths for showers to modernise bathrooms is needed . Finally the hall carpets are s bad choice they look unclean - maybe hessian type floor coverings?

What a wonderful hotel! The staff were great, particularly Robert who suggested some great scenic drives for us. Nothing to complain about at all! If we return to Woodstock this will be our number one choice

This was our second stay at 506 on the River. We love it and enjoy our stays. Cocktails and appetizers in the dining room as well as breakfast was wonderful!

This was our 2nd time staying at the 506, the property is gorgeous and well maintained, tasteful antique furnishings throughout the hallways, and sitting rooms as well as a game room/ library. The pool is large and clean. The rooms are very modern, clean and very comfortable bedding. The hotel restaurant serves up a wonderful, delicious country breakfast and delicious dinner options fit for a 5 star restaurant. The grounds are meticulously maintained with several sitting areas including a fire pit area as well as seating by the river and pond. We highly recommend this property to anyone visiting the small quaint and charming town of Woodstock VT.

Wonderful property with past-time memorabilia all over the place, makes you feel at home. Beautiful clean room, comfortable bed, nice balcony, large clean pool, beautiful spacious grounds - they have it all. Would stay again.

We have stayed here many times and feel this property is not being maintained as well as in the past. The breakfasts which were fabulous offer much less choices. We do love the area but were disappointed this visit.

Wonderful resort-like inn with a little something for everyone to enjoy across generations. Apart from the amenities, peaceful surroundings, and delicious breakfasts, we also really enjoyed all the antique items placed around the inn as part of the decor. My son loved the pool table and roasting marshmellows in the evenings. We definitely want to return to this place, maybe next time with the grandparents to make it a multi-generational experience.

Staff was very rude. There is no hospitality at this property. I’m not sure what happened. I was treated differently. I didn’t catch the front desk name and I don’t recommend this place.

We really enjoyed our stay! The property was great; my family really enjoyed the game room, pool, and nightly smores. More info about the local activities could have been shared, we almost missed the front row seat for the fireworks (they were amazing) as we were unaware despite asking about fireworks events during the check-in. Overall, awesome stay.

Great place to stay in Vermont. The pool, sauna and outdoor fire pits and smore kits are great. They also have a game room for kids. Breakfast is also a good spread too!
Would be great if they could designate dog only and dog free rooms as an option. While the place was clean, you can smell that there were animals in the room.

Very nice place that we'd be happy to stay at again. Very relaxing area, very comfortable room. We had a very large lunch one day and weren't up for a full meal, so we were a little disappointed in the gift shop food options. Other than that it was great. Bed = 4 out of 5. Bathroom = 4 out of 5. Room climate control = 4 out of 5.

Came in for Dartmouth Graduation and found 506 to be the perfect location for us. The grounds were beautiful and we utilized the pool, sauna and hot tub. Everything was very clean and the atmosphere of your lounge/restaurant was incredibly inviting. We had dinner and thoroughly enjoyed the food and drinks. Everyone from the front desk to those keeping it spotless were so polite and friendly. We were traveling with someone in a wheelchair and it was totally accessible. Thank you for making our weekend even better.

The property and room was nice, however the customer service is extremely poor. I was not welcomed, nor asked how my stay was. Male at the front desk lacked acknowledge, and honestly just common curiosity. The location is beautiful and convenient, yet if you appreciate good customer service, I recommend finding another lodging.

Very clean room with excellent staff and amenities. We loved the proximity to major ski resorts and how nice it was to come back to the inn’s pool, hot tub, and sauna. Breakfast was excellent quality and served in a beautiful room. We can’t wait to come back again!

The pictures do not show how beautiful this property actually is. Looks 100 times better in person. They have a restaurant which is also very good. You don’t need to go anywhere else. The pool is a vibe after a long day of snowboarding. Recommend it 10/10. I will definitely go back again.
