We enjoyed a wonderful stay at Explorer House. The innkeepers, Deanna and Alec Bishop were fantastic. Each morning we had a 3 course fabulous breakfast, typically including home baked muffins or scones, a fruit bowl with locally grown fruits of strawberries, blueberries, etc., and an egg dish each excellent. The dish and utensil setup each morning was a unique and clever mix of items from around the world. Deanna was a veritable encyclopedia of what to do, where to go and how best to plan each day. The room was lovely, spacious and fully equipped. There were several common areas both inside and out to relax and enjoy our time. We would strongly recommend Explorer House to anyone planning a visit to Niagara on the Lake!!

Each morning we were treated to a fabulous 3 course breakfast consisting of home made fresh baked breads such as muffins or scones, a fruit dish using locally grown fruits along with granola and you hurt and a unique dish, such as eggs Benedict with avocado… scrumptious. There was also a creative table setting each morning with dishware and eating accoutrements from all over the world. Deanna was a veritable encyclopedia of what to do where to go and how to get there. Our room was lovely and very comfortable, with indoor and outdoor common areas to relax have a drink, read or simply enjoy the lovely environment. If you’re traveling to the lovely town of Niagara on the Lake we would highly recommend the Explorer House

We were looking for a little get-away and Explorer House provided us with a clean and safe jumping off place. Starting the day with terrific brunches, created and served by our hosts, Deanna and Alec, we were nourished until dinner. Deanna answered all our questions on recommended places to shop and relax and all proved out to be excellent. Yes, we highly recommend Explorer House to anyone looking for a great place to stay.

Lovely spacious room with lots of amenities and a comfy bed. Tasty plentiful home- cooked breakfast. Great location for the Old Town, local walks and trips to the Falls. Friendly hosts providing lots of travel tips and local advice. We especially enjoyed the hot tub.

The property is absolutely gorgeous and tranquil. The owners are exceptional hosts. This is our 2nd time staying here. We would definitely recommend. Oh, and the breakfast!!!! The best, by far, of any bed & breakfast that we’ve stayed at! Scrumptious!!

We came as a couple to NOTL for a wine tour and stayed at the Explorer House, mid July. This place is amazing, I'd definitely stay here again. Everything is extremely clean and well kept. You can tell the hosts are meticulous and care about their property. They are well organized and made us feel at home. Nice big bathroom attached to our room. Comfortable king size bed. There is a common area with everything you may need for the stay, fridge, dishes, glasses, coffee, cutlery, etc... The backyard has a large space available to us, with a comfortable sitting area and a hot tub. The landscaping is gorgeous. On top of all of that, the breakfast part of this B&B is amazing. The eggs benedict are the best I ever had. The explorer theme is all across the house, with professional photos taken by the host of all sorts of sceneries from other countries. Amazing place!

Explorer House provides a TOP NOTCH experience from before arrival till the moment you leave. Excellent communication and concern for dietary needs. Fabulous breakfasts. Friendly, knowledgable and helpful hosts. The property inside and outside is immaculate - beautiful grounds open to guests, comfortable common area, very comfortable, quiet en suite rooms. This place cannot be recommended more highly. We look forward to the opportunity for a return visit.

This property is impeccably clean, The. beds are comfortable, we had everything we needed. The grounds are beautiful, lots of little nooks to enjoy! Breakfast in the morning was amazing! The hosts are very helpful and accommodating, Highly recommend. Good location.

Beautiful property, kept clean, all information for use of the amenities was clearly provided and the hosts we readily available if you needed to ask anything. They were also very attentive and followed up for a potential question.

Deanna and Alec are wonderful hosts. Their B&B is warm and just beautiful with all the amenities you could ask for.

Beautiful bed and breakfast! Deena the hostess is very attentive. The home is beautiful and the bedrooms large and super comfortable, lots of areas to relax great location, close to town and dining spots ! Highly recommend. Sue

This property a house in a residential area which is home to a retired couple who the run the business side themselves. The property is tastefully decorated based on the owners' world travels and the artwork was impressive. The condition of the facilities was good. The room we reserved included a jacuzzi bathtub and door opening to a back deck. The location is walking distance from old town Niagara Falls. The room was clean and the Wifi was robust. A food basket is delivered to your door at 9am. Check-out is at 10:30am. This is not a hotel / motel and lacks more practical amenities for similarly priced lodging. You have to muscle any heavy luggage up 2 flights of stairs as there is no elevator. The shared outdoor spa is not large enough for more than 2 adults. You may not bring guests without approval of the owners. Food must be ordered the day before or you don't eat (even though you paid for it). Privacy is a concern because, from the hallway, we could hear another couple... well... we could hear them... and they were not loud. The ugly part of our stay is how the owners treated my girlfriend. I didn't bother with the food order as we changed our departure time. She asked about some breakfast on our departure and owner's response was very rude... "we didn't get our order in". They could have easily accommodated us, but instead made it a negative experience. We scrambled to check out as soon as possible and, ate at Tim Hortons and decided never to return.

This time we got the same homemade breakfast to enjoy in a private space done beautifully in a picnic basket. This will be the only place we ever stay when we visit NOTL.
