It was moldy and nasty dirty

Location is perfect. Steps to beach. Cute, vintage look. Room was a great size for a family with an extra bedroom. Great for a weekend away.

Great stay. Office staff was extremely awesome. We love staying here. The only kickback was the towels smelled moldy and there was some mold on the wall which I know can be an issue for hotels on the beach.

The motel itself is certainly a little dated but overall the price for what you get was great. Beds were comfortable and rooms were clean. Would still recommend to anyone just looking for a reasonable price to lay their head beachside!

The ladies at the front desk were very nice and helpful. The room is cute! For the price, it’s worth it. The only complaint I had was that the ocean was not closer. But we could see it around buildings and hear it with our door open so that worked! We will stay again!

It's an old school Florida motel. Rooms have age but also personality. If that is what you are looking for, it's a good one among the 10s of old motel I stayed at in Florida. Old but well maintained. Great staff. Amazing location. More than fair priced for a location 100 feet from the beach. Small restaurant options in a walkable distance. But many great options within 10 min drive. 12 minutes from old St. Augustine.

This property could really be something, it could really capitalize on it's kitsch but instead it is just another run down motel albeit one with a cute neon sign (although two of the bunnies are burned out). I had high hopes for this stay because we have stayed at similar properties that are old but made the effort to make themselves special by making minor cosmetic improvements and having a cool vibe. The cooktop in the kitchen of our unit was absolutely disgusting, the microwave lining was peeling away to reveal what looked to be rust or the metal casing beneath the inner material, the bathroom wasn't exactly sparkling, the furniture was old and musty and when I opened the dresser the forgotten clothes of the former guest were still there. Having to fish out someone's obviously worn socks and underwear is not my idea of a vacation. The only good part of the room was the bed seemed newish and was comfortable but the idea of bedbugs did cross my mind. This room was nowhere near the caliber it needed to be at the pricepoint I paid. I could have stayed at a nearby motel for $67 per night, it couldn't have been any worse than this and half the price I paid. Also, the pool was not well maintained, peeling surfaces and no towels at the pool and no umbrellas, chairs were dirty. As I said, for this pricepoint they should make some improvements. Very disappointed at the price I paid. Also my reservation said paid in full- I checked before arrival- yet was charged upon check in.

Amazingly seated right next to the Vilano Beach! Great retro style furnishings. Nice quiet getaway for the night.

The outside balcony and proximity of the Vilano Beach pavilion on the ocean - wonderful. Now for the rest of the story = We had to wait for check in, but there was a phone number to call.. The room is very small and SPARSE - Very little furniture. Two hangers in the "make shift closet". One night stand. The rug was HORRIBLE. Dog Pee Stains all over it - FILTHY. The bed itself was firm but comfortable. Two thin towels and two tiny soaps. etc...you get the point. Nothing for "the kitchen" - and the fridge works off and on., But the WORST thing, besides the filthy carpet, is that the A/C is programmed (not kidding) to turn off at midnight. So - the room becomes unbearably HOT. If you get up and turn it on it works for maybe 30 minutes then shuts off again. We were told that others complained but that some people don't notice. The staff is WONDERFUL" - all the staff are kind, but helpless." Oh yeah - The bath tub runs water constantly - shower is mini...Or, lets say, don't try to move or wash your hair. Never going Back Again = Sing it.

Had to change rooms. Hot water didn’t work.

I would have to say that excellent should not be used when rating this motel. Misleading it sets guest up guest to be disappointed in stay.

This property was overall a good stay. It was clean and it was just a few steps from the beach, which I loved. The place that they have to eat is not great not even for coffee.

Location,location and location!

Room was fine and reasonably priced but housekeeping did not clean. They made the bed, but did not clean anywhere else - bathroom, kitchenette, floors...

Such an amazing place! Everyone was so kind and the retro feel and location were perfection!

We enjoyed our night at this charming hotel right at the beach. Great staff assisted with us finding boat parking. Would highly recommend.

Angela at the front desk is super nice as are those cooking breakfast. Great staycation for us, just a quaint local place close to it all to chill.

So cute and clean

The unique was the good atención in the office. We don’t like the dirty room with old furniture, the problems in the kitchen with the sink and shower. The kitchen utensils were incomplete without knives and without plates to eat decently. The refrigerator no was working correctly all the time was freezing in both areas. Never was cleaning the room.

This was probably my 3rd or 4th time staying at this hotel. It has vintage charm, but it’s clean and comfortable. The location is great! It is in a quiet and safe corner of Vilano beach across from the public beach access (that has been recently upgraded). Also close to stores and a short Uber ride to the historic district. Room sizes and styles vary. Great for families or couples.

Super cute, old motel. Friendly staff, clear room, perfect location.

Very retro in appearance. Bed was comfortable and slept well. Room was tight with a king size bed in it. Overall a great place to get away to. Close to Vilano Beach walking distance.

This is an older place and by no means upscale. More a retro place. Close to beach and has chairs to sit outside the place.

Although the hotel is not the most comfy, I highly recommend it because of its closeness to a beautiful Saint Agustin beach that is walking distance from it. The price is great.
