The property owners were absolutely wonderful to my husband and myself. We were there celebrating our 29th wedding anniversary and they actually cut a bouquet of fresh flowers to give to us as a celebratory gift. Absolutely stunning. Too bad we couldn’t bring it back to the mainland. I would definitely recommend this place if you’re looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of a busy hotel. The fact that no children are allowed makes it even better. It’s a guaranteed quiet spot for people who are wanting to get away together in the peace and quiet.

We were entirely comfortable when in our room or especially on the spacious lanai.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here! The property is very secluded, and we loved feeling like we were in the rainforest (especially at night with all of the singing frogs). The hosts were extremely kind and accommodating. Honestly one of the best stays we’ve had in recent years!

Goode’s was truly an awesome place to stay. The facility is beautiful inside and out. It is solar powered. The host and hostess are gracious. The view of Hilo Bay is special. There is also a view of Maura Kea a short walk up the road. I would recommend it to anyone who appreciates grace and beauty.

The Goode's have a lovely compound just north of Hilo. Its close to the highway, but far enough away to be quiet and peaceful. They have a handful of various rooms, that are tastefully decorated with nice little touches throughout. Its like visiting your friends/family in the country, but the accommodations are classy and clean, and the surrounding property is well maintained and beautiful. You get a comfortable bed, lots of room, and nice furniture inside the room. Also, there is comfortable chairs, hammocks, and loungers to relax under the shade on the porch in front of each room. They owners grow lots of fruit trees and share their fruit with their guests. They are very responsive and take a genuine interest in your comfort and happiness while in their care. But they also give the guest plenty of space and privacy. But they are there anytime you need them, and are very friendly and nice people! Its not cheap, but its not expensive. It IS good value. Also, if you are looking for a longer stay, call Garvin, and he can offer a good rate on extended stays, for travellers and people in the Hilo area there on business.

I liked that they had dishes and cutlery to go with the microwave, fridge, kettle coffee machine and electric kettle. The room was well decorated and furnished. They even included sunscreen, bug spray and umbrellas (blow dryer as well).

I loved that it was very “ homey” and that they provided all the commodities we needed. Staff were very friendly. My only comment would be , needs more lighting at night by the driveway. Otherwise , we had a wonderful stay.

Wonderful room and beautiful patio area with hammocks, an outdoor tiki room to bbq if you wish. Very natural and quiet except for those lovely little coqui singing frogs! The hosts are exceptionally friendly and will offer good recommendations for sightseeing and restaurants if you want. Every little detail was perfect!😁

Excellent accommodations with serene beautiful setting. Room was spacious, very clean and owners friendly and well informed about Hilo and the island. For a restful and leisure stay Island Goode’s was just what we wanted.

Lovely accommodation in a rural location, 10 minute drive from Hilo.

It was very quiet, which was exactly what I was wanted. The sounds of nature at night were perfect 'white noise'. The owners are very helpful and offer suggestions and helpful information about the area.

This is a wonderful, quiet, clean relaxing place to call home base. Our room was large, and very clean with every available convenience in could imagine. Our bed was made daily, our coffee was restocked as well as the filtered water. Sitting out on own lanai planning our day or talking about the days activities in the evening was very relaxing. The owners are friendly and very accommodating with fresh bananas, oranges, and even produced a BBQ for a dinner in! Highly recommend staying at Island Goode's

I found the manager both friendly and helpful. The property was well maintained. A nice view of the ocean.

Unit is extremely small reminiscent of a cruise ship stateroom, remote and rustic. Privacy is limited, area is noisy and parking is challenging. Sleep number bed was nice but microwave and other items outside was odd as was the room stipulations and power restrictions.

Nice small B&B kind but no breakfast. Nice room and property with three horses. But a distance from Hilo.

Excellent! Owners are friendly and have a gorgeous home/lodging. Everything your little heart desires. But, (Follow the owner's exact driving directions or you will miss the road to turn on)

Unfortunately, the volcano had stopped erupting, so there was no view at night of the lava flow. We loved the sound of the chirping frogs. And, we liked the location, far enough from downtown Hilo to be quiet and peaceful, but close enough to Hilo for restaurants, shopping, etc.
