My wife and I were here for three nights to enjoy some winter solitude. The staff was great, and the facilities were very nice. The cross-country and snowshoe trails were an excellent, unexpected surprise—better than we had expected. The only negative was that there was no sit-down breakfast option.

We stayed in the cabins. It wasn't big but had everything we needed and room for our family of 5. The cabin looked good on first impression but after unloading our things and moving around we realized there was dog hair all over the floor. Our socks were covered with it as was the couch. There was so much the kids were leaving chunks of it on the ladder as they went up to the lofts. There is no phone service and no way to contact the front desk so we had to walk over the bridge and to the desk. They tried to tell us there had been no dogs on property, even after we brought a chunk of hair with us. In the end they gave us a vacuum cleaner to carry back to our cabin and said they would leave a note for housekeeping. We had to go back and vacuum our own cabin. Overall the cabin and grounds were nice and a neat location, but staff made us seem like an inconvenience when we asked for anything.

The staff is amazing. They were friendly and personable. Our room was comfortable and clean. We enjoyed our stay and will return someday.

An interesting building and a pleasant stay.
Given a less than perfect score for the mattress/pillows (which were not to my liking) and to the squeaky floors (it's an old building) and lack of sound insulation (the upstairs lodger was bothersome on our first night there).
Thought the trains would be a bother at night, but they were not. It was fun to hear them coming and then thundering by, even at night.
This location is ideal for the park, as you are just about equidistant from both ends of the Going To The Sun Road, so it doesn't matter from which side you enter or depart the park, your ride to and from is always the same.

The place was so hard to get to. Gravel road with lots of potholes, 2.5 miles away from the building. The car will probably need a wheel alignment. Very poor signage to get there. Trains constantly going through out the night 109 feet away. The bed frame was metal and makes so much noise when you move. No light bulbs next to the bed lamps. It would be a nightmare to drive at night. Very decieving on the booking

We had booked two rooms, one for my husband and myself and one for a family member. Our room was clean and comfortable, the other family member said his bathroom was not clean. There were dirty towels in bath and a dirty toilet. The bedroom area was fine and clean.

My wife and I had a great stay. Room was nice and we both really enjoyed the food. Sitting outside on the covered porch, watching the train go by made it a very enjoyable stay. We wish we would have known about this place when our kids were younger. Thank you for a very nice stay.

We are driving cross country and found this gem of a hotel. It had reopened only a few weeks before our stay and the entire in has been renovated with painstaking detail to its history. Our room was small but cozy, the bathroom brand new and modern . The bed was comfortable and inviting. The staff, from
front desk to restaurant and bar were friendly and welcoming. We stayed for three nights and were delighted that we found this spot. It’s located about 25 miles from either the west or east entrance to Glacier National Park. We couldn’t be happier with our experience

We had a good stay and thought the hotel was quaint and fun. The rooms don't have tv or air conditioning but we needed neither during our stay. Water pressure is not good but the building is very old. We were treated well and greeted with a smile.

Hip vibe, awesome food! We came in September and the property was doing projects to improve the place. Cool patrons and staff.

Can't say enough about the LOGE. Quiet, peaceful, pristine and the staff very helpful and friendly. The food at the restaurant was the best we've had in Montana.

This property is a historic hotel undergoing renovations. Some rooms are off site and need to be access by an unpaved dirt road. There is an elevated bridge that connects these room to the main lodge. The staff at the lodge are super friendly and can be reached anytime by text. Our room was off site. The room was large and the bed very comfortable.

We stayed for 6 nights and were gone most of every day. We did make it back one day for the dinner which was very good and the service was great. Lucas and his very friendly staff are doing a great job. If you stay across the tracks there is a bridge so you can leave your car by the LOGE or you can choose to go down the hwy and follow a primitive road back to your place. The trains do go by but they are slow and actually soothing (they do not blow their whistle) we stayed in room 402 which is newly updated and very nice.

We liked our visit to LOGE. The room was great, especially the bed, or I was really tired. It was a little hard to find the room location and the restaurant was unable to serve us, as the kitchen wasn’t working.

I was so excited to stay in a caboose with my four kids. The accommodation was cozy and clean. The staff assured us they would be available for any questions and requests as the lodge and lobby was closed. This wasnt true. Power went out without notice of why. We had to walk and ask. Guest laundry was closed or being used by staff. Hot tub drained. We went expecting some closures but not the complete lack of communication or service. We wont ever return even when everything is open. There is NOTHING to do on the property.

This property is not as advertised of Expedia. The website in the Expedia listing stated there was a restaurant a bar Jacuzzi lodge with multiple games like foosball and billiards and none of that was available and none of that was disclosed. We ended up being in a retrofitted antique caboose on the other side of a freight train yard required a 1.5 mile drive up and over the train tracks and then upper very rough dirt road with potholes to a spot on the ridge overlooking the train yard and the lodge there was a foot bridge that you could take to the lodge, but the lodge was being renovated and shut down, and there was no one really there to assist us in fact when we went over there, they wouldn’t even even assist us nor let us in. Staff is non existent None of this was disclosed until the day of check in when they sent saying we should go shopping first as the restaurant was closed. The oven did not light so we could cook our frozen pizza. This is a very isolated location had I’ve been disclosed at the restaurant and bar were not operating. We certainly would not have reserved there. I’ve been practicing a 30 for 30 years and I’ve never seen a more egregious false advertising situation in which customers are misled by the representations online and I am seriously considering a class action lawsuit against the company. We ended up, insisting to be let go of our reservation for the second night we left to go to elsewhere. Listing

Hotel is still under renovation and we did not find either front desk or Cafe. But instruction on the building/in the cabin is clear, key release is timely after registration, room is tight but clean and well equipped, surrounding forest is beautiful. Pleanty wild berries, too. Pleasant experience overall.

I have been visiting the Izaak Walton for most of my life and each time is special. Yes it might be an older building and have occasional problems related to age but the inn is possibly the most unique in all of Montana. The staff are always top notch and professional and the location is amazing!

Almost had to beg for small bar of soap for sink. Sink was in bedroom not in bathroom. Bathroom had only a liquid soap dispenser in shower

This inn is steeped in history and is like going back in time to the 1940's. The rooms are clean, the premises delightful and the staff accommodating and friendly. The only down side is that the location is at least 1/2 hour from any services. The restaurant on premises is very good, but really the only option unless you travel. Be sure to bring some snacks to your room to tide you over. The only complaint we have is that we got a corner room on the second floor directly over the exhaust for the restaurant where the room smelled like a grill for late afternoons and early evenings. While we really preferred to have a corner room and are glad we did, the smell was an issue until it cleared out with the windows open around 11pm. Still, overall, it was a very good experience and we'd certainly recommend the Isaak Walton Inn.

Nice restoration of vintage lodge but that means small room, no heat in the spring, no wall insulation, restaurant was way over priced for very poor quality food.

Foldout bed was very uncomfortable but slept okay. Room with bed and foldout (futon) was bit crowded for a small room. Love ❤️ the deco and the lodge. May come back.

Amazing location tucked into the mountains. Several trails nearby and the staff was very friendly. Great spot halfway between East and West Glacier.

Tiny room. No a.c. or fan. Radiator very hot. No t.v. no wi-fi. Staff not welcoming. Had to drag all luggage up flight of stairs. Not "rustic" or historical. Like a boarding house

The historic inn is at a railroad yard with several modified train cars on the property as guest rooms. We stayed in the main building. The staff was friendly and helpful. The restaurant serves a full menu. Our room was simple and small which is common in that area. It did provide us a comfortable space for our stay. One negative thing was that we could smell food from the kitchen below. Overall, it’s worth considering if you’re visiting Glacier national park.

This hotel includes a lodge, formerly housing for railroad workers, and outlying cabins, some of them converted rail cars. It is a charming place along the tracks with a playground, green lawn with chairs, and an appealing lobby and porches. Our room in the lodge, although small had been nicely restored and modernized.
Unfortunately.,there were many problems. In September 2021, with Corona raging, no staff member wore a mask. Our room was uncomfortably warm the first night. The next night, we discovered that: the radiator, set for off, had nevertheless come on. The front desk was frequently unstaffed, leaving guests waiting. The restaurant has a virtual monopoly in the area. and it shows. Prices are very high and food quality uneven. The first night, we made a reservation for outdoor seating. When we arrived, we were told that, due tof a large party. we would have to sit inside. After complaining, we were finally seated outside, where the space turned out to be more than ample. At breakfast I was told that the oatmeal I ordered from the menu was unavailable. How do you run out of oatmeal?! When I ordered the eggs with two biscuits from the menu, the order arrived with only one biscuit cut in half, and the server became huffy when I called the discrepancy to his attention. That evening, a half hour before closing, we ordered decaf coffee. The waitress said she would some, but then another staff member appeared and said that only regular coffee was available--how cheap!!
