The property is absolutely stunning. The rooms are clean, and the front desk is always staffed, which is convenient. Additionally, they offer a complimentary breakfast. The location is perfect, as it is within walking distance to the beach and is situated right on Ocean Avenue, surrounded by an array of charming shops, cafes, and restaurants. However, it's important to note that parking can be a bit of a challenge. There's no guaranteed on-site parking, so if you happen to arrive on a weekend, particularly during peak hours, be prepared to spend a significant amount of time circling the area to find a parking spot. Additionally, the walls of the Inn are quite thin, meaning that noise from neighboring rooms and upstairs can be quite annoying.

This used to be an upscale property that made our prior stay most enjoyable. Now, with new ownership/management, you pay a premium price for bare bones accommodations. Although the on-site staff was very good and accommodating, the room hasn't been upgraded in years and may have been cut back to save money. What a shame. We will not stay there again.

There couldn’t be a more perfect location for visiting Carmel. This hotel was clean, quaint and incredibly convenient. Rooms are not large but very comfortable. Continental breakfast was a nice added bonus.

Room 302 was our first room. It overlooks the street. We enjoyed the breeze that would come through the window. Things that I would change. The lighting in the bathroom by the mirror could be better. It would be nice if you had soft closed toilet seats. It would be nice if you had open top garbage cans in the bathroom. The small closed top garbage can are hard to access. Beyond that it was quite an enjoyable stay.

Located in a great area! Room could use a little work…updated fixtures, etc. complimentary breakfast (continental) was appreciated.

It’s an older property in a fabulous location. We had a fireplace room that would benefit from some attention from an interior decorator. It was very noisy in the morning. The main positive point is its location…. Right in the heart of Carmel, an easy walk to restaurants, stores and the beach.

We had a lovely stay and will be returning. The inn is beautiful Henry constock design and well maintained. Breakfast was also a great addition, staff was incredibly kind. There is street parking and about 8 reserved spots in a lot for guests. The location is wonderful, few blocks from the beach and within the main shopping/restaurant part of Carmel. Once you park, you can walk for the remainder of your trip.

For the price we paid - the hotel is in need of a major renovation - there are no amenities. Period - parking is limited and not guaranteed. The “free breakfast” is cold packaged cereal, cheese you can get at any 7/11 and danish and coffees. The shampoos and soaps are generic - not a luxury brand (bring your own). The only good thing is the location - otherwise we will not stay there again.

Very charming place to stay. Comfortable, clean & great location. Breakfast is pretty basic, but fine. The only negative is that if you check out one minute after 11:00am, you are charged $75.00 for every fifteen minutes you are still there!! That was kind of a turn off.

We had a very pleasant three night stay at the Normandy Inn. Appreciated the cleanliness of the property, and the friendliness of the staff. Will definitely return on future visits to Carmel.

Excellent Inn for a prize. Will come back someday. Just hoping they have sofa instead of chairs so option that it can be used to sleep.

Great hotel right in the thick of things and walking distance to the beach. Free parking either at the hotel or on the street. Friendly staff and good free breakfast. Large bathrooms and comfortable bed. The only issue I had was the room could have used some wall hangings as it was a little bare.

This is a charming hotel! My daughter and I stayed 3 nights and were very happy with the property. The front desk staff were helpful and friendly and the complimentary breakfasts were much appreciated. We’ll be back for sure!

Room was very nice. The parking lot of hotel could only accommodate 8 vehicles. Breakfast offered was a cold only option with a toaster and hot water for oatmeal.

It has a bit of a French country Chateau quality to it. Nice appointments to the room. Loved the fireplace. Bed was comfortable enough. I tend to like firm mattresses. I was told it was a recently new one. Breakfast was adequate, coffee could have been stronger for my tastes. Very friendly and accommodating staff.

Property is on Ocean Drive where all the shopping, restaurants, and bars are. Very walkable to Carmel Beach. Very friendly staff.

Really good experience staying here. Friendly staff at check in and around the property. Room was clean and bed was very comfortable. Location is fantastic; easy walk down to the beach and up to restaurants, shopping and more. Only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was that the walls aren't well insulated so we could hear the neighbors.

Nice hotel, perfectly located between the beach and the center of town. The room we stayed in was renovated and well designed with a large bathroom and a comfortable bed. The only negative worth mentioning is that the hotel, while advertised on Expedia as having parking on site, did not actually have parking - rather we were told free street parking is available nearby. Which was true that particular day.

Great location and property!

The hotel is in perfect walking distance to the beach, food and shopping. The room was spacious and clean. The staff was also very kind! The parking wasn’t the greatest but manageable. We had to park on the street because the lot was full but thankfully it wasn’t too far from our room.
