Excellent stay stuff were amazing with their knowledge and friendly service

I was really looking forward to staying here, on arrival the lounge area looked lovely and i was looking forward to seeing the room. That was where the stay was different, the room was in need of updating and the bed a new mattress. Bits were missing of furniture and windows broke. We did sleep one night and the next day we left. We were given a refund for the second night and the staff were very understanding. They had said that they were closing the hotel to renovate the rooms in December. All i can say is that once the room we stayed in has been redecorated it will be a nice place to stay but for now make sure you don’t stay in room 8.

Room, breakfast and service excellent - fantastic view

Staff was very helpful. The hotel is being renovated so parts of the building are looking tired and there is no lift but our bedroom was spacious, nicely furnished and had obviously been revamped very recently. Breakfast was good and there was a Spanish restaurant and a coffee shop in the compound.

Friendly and Helpful staff. Greated with a cheerful smile. Nothing to much trouble. Conveniently located for the upper part of Lincoln (Cathedral and Castle area). Room comfortable. Complimentary Continental Breakfast plentiful and a good variety. Very enjoyable stay.

Excellent location

Check in was impersonal, no interest other than giving our key and paying. Room is very tired and in need of refurbishment. Carpet uncomfortable on bare feet, no water other than tap and given it was the hottest day of the year no fans or anything to make it more comfortable. On the flip side very spacious and no other issues.

Lovely hotel with great rooms. Nice continental breakfast with a good choice of food. The hotel is situated in a great location for access to Lincoln Cathedral and Castle. Check in was friendly and quick. Although you have to pay for parking, there were plenty of spaces available in the car park adjacent to the hotel. We would definitely stay there again if we went back to Lincoln.

Perfect location, a quaint hotel and great service.

I booked this hotel last minute, researching the hotel. The pictures looked great and the reviews persuaded me to book a room. The external look of the hotel, looked well kept. The bathroom ceiling needs touching up and in general the entire room needs a 'spring' clean. Switching on the TV seemed troublesome. Every time I switched it on, it went into setup mode. I gave up in the end! The bed was very uncomfortable, especially for the price of the room I paid. The towels looks old, no softness. so having a shower was uncomfortable with towels that didn't dry properly. Came down to breakfast, not much selection. The cheese and meats looked stale, the Danishes looked shop bought and the cereals were limited i.e. selection. Overall, the staff are great and really helpful. Its just a pity about the rooms and the linen.

Excellent stay close to everything we did

Amazing value for the price! The room was so cute. Clean, comfortable, bathroom and shower were really nice, coffee and cookies were a nice touch, blow dryer. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Hotel is close to tourist attractions and shopping and food/drink. Breakfast was great. Bar in hotel was convenient. Overall I would highly recommend!

A quaint and quirky hotel recently acquired by Stokes Coffee Lincoln UK. Previously staff accommodation adjacent to the old asylum, and apparently undergoing some redecoration. The hotel staff were very friendly, efficient and accommodating. Breakfast was continental style with plenty of choice, although a cooked breakfast option would have been better. However, the old asylum houses various businesses including a Stokes restaurant, where we enjoyed a tasty al fresco brunch 😋. Location was perfect, a 2 minute walk to the Castle, a friendly pub and delicious Indian restaurant. Theres a car park on site, we paid £9.80 for 24 hours. We loved our 2 night stay ~ perfect for exploring Lincoln. 😊

The hotel was a lovely location opposite the west gate of the Castle and really close to the Cathedral. Shouldn’t however advertise parking available to then find out it is a public car park charging £9.80 per 24 hours! You need to be aware of this upfront. Listed building so no lift but only two floors so not a problem to us. Continental breakfast very basic and not well stocked. Had to ask for extra cheeses and meats as very low quantity brought out at any one time same as bread for toast etc. The Receptionist also organised breakfast and ran the bar so we had to go to Reception to ask her to replenish breakfast or open the bar. Room spacious and clean however Room 7 overlooks the car park on both sides so not a brilliant view. Okay for a two night stay just to see the city but would not go back for a longer stay.

The bed was too hard for me though my partner didnt mind it.

Staff were wonderful but hotel needs an update, paint peeling off the bathroom ceiling and late night noisy pub across the way

The place could do with an update. There is PLENTY of room for a mini fridge. A smart TV would be a good addition too

Wonderful location, very historic area

Loved everything about the hotel, the only improvements could have been, bottled water in the rooms and softer pillows.

Great location but very tired in places. No breakfast until 8am is a bit challenge for business users. Bed and pillows rather bumpy and lumpy

Stayed for a wedding had a fantastic evening and breakfast was very good 😊

Very outdated and in urgent need of renovation. Too expensive for what you get. Breakfast Buffett is very poor.
