The place is functioning but a bit dated. Free parking is a plus point, a place is good for overnight stay for the price paid, not really value for money.

We have never stayed in Morro Bay, but we decided to this time when we went to the Central Coast. This motel/hotel is adorable, clean and Ann and her husband (the owners) are kind and welcoming. The location is perfect for walking down to Embarcadero St or up Morro Bay Blvd to shops and restaurants. I would definitely recommend staying here as it's clean, quiet and close to everything.

Very nice visit to the Sundown Inn at Morro Bay. Sundown Inn is a basic old time motel. The owners are on the property and are very gracious and keep the motel in excellent shape. The room was very clean and comfortable. (Even had a vibrating bed!) The motel is within walking distance to the waterfront and to the small downtown which has plenty of choices for dining. Visiting from the east coast, but if ever we return to the Central Coast, we would definitely stay here again.

This is a very cozy older property that has been maintained and lots of little charming touches added like lace curtains and cute decorations. The ownership is wonderful; kind, attentive and genuine. There is a coffee maker in the room, refrigerator and a microwave. There is WiFi. It is walkable to the waterfront and the neighborhood is quiet. My only (tiny) issue was I could hear people talking in rooms on either side and I am very sensitive to sound but I was able to drown it out by using white noise app on my phone.

PROS: Very close to beach, shopping and restaurants! Friendly staff. Easy parking.Clean rooms. Coffee, refrigerator, and microwave in room.
Old school massage bed!?!
CONS: TV occasionally buffers. Beds are a little noisy.
With all that said, I would stay there again.

The owner is a very sweet lady! The only negative thing I have to say is the decor was very old faded dusty but we had everything wee could need in our room !!!

We booked 2 nights and extended our stay here for 6 nights. The owner is very friendly and helpful. Rooms are very clean and cozy. Has everything we need. Location is great. It was a really nice stay here. We will come back!

Our stay was excellent! Very comfortable and clean. The owners even helped return our son’s childhood stuffed animal he’s had for over 10 years back to us after leaving him behind in the room we stayed. Ta Lin went above and beyond to locate and ship our beloved Shay the fox back to us. We will definitely be recommending the Sundown Inn for anyone looking for a great place to stay while in Morro Bay.

This small hotel with a dozen or so rooms is conveniently located and offers an elegant environment. It is just a few minutes' drive from the beach, restaurants, and supermarkets. The hotel rooms are clean and feature very quiet air conditioning for both heating and cooling.

We loved this cute vintage hotel! It was perfect! I especially loved the succulents growing all over the place! Just beautiful! Very close to the downtown area. Could walk to restaurants and shops! Very good value too! Thank you!

This is a charming family owned hotel that is wonderful. Location is excellent and the proprietors are very caring. Highly recommend if you will stay in the Morro Bay area. I highly recommended if you’re coming into town for the 70.3 Ironman.

I like it. The place is a little retro, to my liking, cozy, very friendly staff, very quiet. The shower door a little tight for a big guy like me, but doable. It appears to have been recently renovated.
Overall a very lovely place. I will stay there again in the future.

This motel is a hidden gem. The cost is reasonable and the place was CLEAN and tastefully decorated. Just awesome what one industrious Woman can accomplish apparently on her own when running the front desk AND cleaning the rooms with no assistance. There was one problem with a noisy neighbor, but he/they/whatever managed to put a sock in it around midnight, so I did manage some sleep.

Very, very clean and the owner is a lovely, gracious woman. The hotel is three blocks to town, perfect for walking to the street market on Saturday. Parking outside the room door is handy. Fixtures in the bathroom are a bit low for taller folks (5’8” and 6’1”).
