this hotel is top perfect

Very disappointing 3 night stay! I read many review stating this was a wonderful hotel. For the price of the room, the hotel was ruin down and tired looking. The beds were extremely hard and old. The room came with a small fridge and sufficient dish wear. The A/C worked. The breakfast was mediocre. The pool was very murky and the swim up bar unusable. Nice central location but not worth the price. We stayed in many other hotels in Costa Rica for the same price and they were way better.

This is a no-frills but nice little hotel right in the middle of Coco just a short walk from the beach, restaurants and bars. We had a great time here. I would definitely stay here again.

We loved how each unit has its own terrace with comfortable seating, a hammock, and steps to the pool. The breakfast was delicious and the staff were friendly and helpful.

Great place to go if you’re on a budget! Very short walk to the beach, lots of restaurants, bars, and souvenir shops. The pool was nice and clean - but note there is not a bartender at the swim-up bar, more just for seating. The rooms were clean, but no daily housekeeping and you wash your own dishes from breakfast. The reason I took away one star is because it would smell like sewer about 1/3 of the time we were at the hotel. I would stay here again, it’s worth the price!

What a wonderful 4 night stay at this hotel. Great location close to the beach, restaurants and souvenirs. They arranged our transportations to airport. Delicious breakfast included. Pool was great! 10/10 recommend!

I was a little unsure what to expect after reading some reviews but we were delighted with this property. Kelly and the staff were very welcoming and made us feel immediately at home! Our room was to our liking with a kitchenette, functional and adequate air conditioning and a double bed that was firm but comfortable. The continental breakfast in the morning was great with fresh fruit, rice / beans and spiced scrambled eggs. We also appreciated free bottled water available for filling our water bottles. The location was perfect for us right in downtown. Easily walkable to the beach and local pubs and restaurants. We spent the week diving and it was a quick 5 min walk in the morning from the hotel to Rich Coast Diving - ideal!! We did experience a little noise in the evening from the pool / local pubs playing music but it didn’t negatively impact our sleep. Overall we were very happy with our stay and felt like it provided a great space for good value.

This was a great find. Great location. Great staff. Great building. very clean. very safe. The pool made us sick and the bed mattress was not good in any way. Our back hurt from it. At night there was very loud music, but we loved the atmosphere. Again, would stay here again if those two things were fixed. Thank you!

I just came back from a 10 day trip to Costa Rica. We spent the last three days of our trip at this hotel and it was just what we needed A very friendly and comfortable place to feel like you can relax and enjoy the cute little town and beach. There was a couple people that stay there I believe a couple of months at a time and I could see how I could easily do that as well if I didn’t have to come back to my job. There is just a 45 minute walk to the beach and restaurants were just around the corner. I felt safe walking in the evening to go grab some dinner with my son. The pool was amazing and just outside your door. The facility was so quaint with the lights on in the evening. A very beautiful setting. highly recommend.

Excellent breakfasts, friendly staff, kitchen reasonably equipped, good wifi. Updating needed - mattress in Master bedroom needs replacing; A/C unit in Master bedroom difficult to manage; sink stoppers missing; deck cushions need replacing. Overall, a good hotel for short stay, close to the beach & shopping

The property was close to the beach which was nice and the staff we dealt with very very friendly. However the noise from a nearby bar played very loud music until 2:30AM making it impossible to sleep so although we paid for 4 nights upfront we had to check out 2 days early with no refund and move to a quieter location. The loud music 7 nights a week should have been mentioned when we booked. I would not recommend to anyone unless they like to party to 2:30 AM and sleep in late in the morning.

It was an average property for the price.

We booked for 3 days and ended extending for a total of 8 days. The owner, Amber is an expat from the US and is very friendly. She knows the area and helped make our vacation amazing. Her office staff, Gabriel and Maria Jose are bilingual and friendly as well. The hotel is an older one. The pictures online are accurate. Amber purchased the hotel a year ago and has been working on updates. The rooms are located around a central pool. The location is near everything you probably came to Playa del Cocos for- a block from the beach and a block from the main road with multiple restaurants, nightlife, and shopping choices. There was some music noise on Friday and Saturday night but honestly we didn't hear it over the AC in our room. There is a gate and friendly night time security guard. Free daily breakfast was typical Tico beans and rice, fresh fruit, pastries, fresh juice and coffee. One minor negative, and this was true for other hotels and apparently for Costa Rica in general, is that the beds have the softness of a good quality cardboard. Amber did work with us to find the best mattress she had available for our stay. We initially picked our hotel based on location and price but Amber and the service is what made us want to stay longer.
