Its a great location with lots to see and do in Ladysmith. However the hotel is dated and quite simple.
We couldn't get the heater to work in the room so we were very grateful for the extra blankets!

Needed somewhere to stay close to Nanaimo for a couple nights and came across this place. It was within my budget and I have no complaints! The owners were very friendly, the room and everything was clean, the water pressure in the shower was better than at home, and it was nice having a balcony with a decent view!

Rooms and property are a bit old but taken care of! Room we had could be considered a bit small and would have liked a bigger balcony area with a small table but I knew all that! 2 of us can go Ladysmith for 5 nights and happy with motel! Very clean and our needs were met! I had read previously that some people complained about highway noise? Really! The motel is right beside the highway! Lol. We shut balcony door closed the curtains and turned A/C on! Problem solved! Will gladly stay again!

This place could be a gem, great location, but needs definite renovations. Bed was very comfortable and shower was clean so that was important, but lock on screen for patio didn’t work, lock was sticky. Lamp didn’t work. Rooms dire need of painting and upgrading. For the price we paid, I suppose we expected more. We would stay again in a pinch, but not my first choice.

Desk person was very pleasant and so was on/site staff. But I could barely walk into the check-in area because it was full of incense. Some of that smell also seeps up to the room. Mattress was good, But the heavy traffic noise all night long outdoors was way too much. Even with earplugs.way overpriced

Super clean but very dated. Odd that the staff (owners) were away and reception locked up at check in time 4pm. Walking distance to all the shopping and restaurants in Ladysmith. Great water view from the balcony.

Such a cute place! Very clean. Small A/C made the room temperature bearable, but could've been cooler in this heatwave. Staff were very helpful and welcoming. I would happily stay here again.

Staff was extremely kind when my phone was misplaced upon arrival. I really like the allergen-free room: not carpeted and bedding comfortable, with no itchy eyes in the morning. On a rainy night highway sounds can be noticeable.

Proprietors take great care of the appearance of motel with hanging flower baskets and lush landscaping in the front which I could admire from the balcony

Nice and polite manager. Quiet room, despite being near a highway. Excellent water view. A 5-minute walk to the charming downtown area. A very good coffee/breakfast place across the street. The motel is in need of some updating but it is clean and serviceable.

The shower broke the first morning. We had to keep it running. We could not stop it and nobody in office to help. The noise was unbearable coming from the highway. I had to get another room at another location. They didn’t reimburse me for the day I paid in advance. Expedia should be advertising this property. It absolutely horrible.

Beds were comfortable, linens were clean. A bit noisy due to proximity to the highway but that was to be expected. If anything, I wish the room had a hairdryer but no big deal.

Negative. It’s right next to the trans-Canada. There was no hairdryer.
Staff was not available other than for check-in. We were on our own 10 minutes after check-in. No ice available and no staff on phone, reception door locked at 5:00 pm.
This room cost almost $200 for a clean bed and room and nothing else. Lady Smith is a lovely little town.

Room was clean and staff was friendly. Overpriced. Outdated. Did not feel safe with only the lock in the door handle and a chain on a door that opened into the parking lot.
