The Alpenrose is located about 5 minutes walk from the lake and central Zell am See. Cosy guesthouse, free parking outside. Free wifi which was very slow. The hostess was very friendly and helpful. There is no lift in the house. We got a double room on the second floor facing away from the street which was nice. Nice balcony, but a rather noisy river runs by, so bring ear plugs if you want to sleep with the window open! Quite small room, very clean, the usual hard beds as was expected, but fine for one night. Clean bathroom, good shower. Excellent breakfast, Anna was there to explain how everything worked and made sure we had what we needed. Enjoyed our stay, convenient location, especially in winter I would think, since one of the major lifts is just down the road. Would recommend and stay again.

Great location and a pleasant stay. The owner is very helpful. This is a symphatic pension house, you will accept little shortcomings e.g. no soundproof and the interior style from maybe 80s.

The owner welcomed us into this wonderful Alpine pension. Short walk to city center and the lake. Great breakfast.

We had a three night stay after driving from Munich. Annie greeted us upon arrival with the biggest smile and was most insistent on letting her know if there was anything she could do for us. Remember this is a Pension not a Hotel and as such does not have all the amenities you might expect, like an elevator, so hauling a big suitcase up steep stairs can be a challenge. The room was clean and comfortable with a balcony with a table and chairs. The bathroom as expected was small but had everything we needed. The breakfast room was very nice and had a good selection of juice cereal, fruit, meats and cheeses as well as yogurt and breads and a good multi type coffee machine. The internet worked well and parking was right at the door. As for the location it was very central with a five minute walk to The Grand Hotel on the lake.

The Pension is owned and run by Annie. She was the perfect hostess, friendly and helpful. Room was comfortable and breakfast was excellent. Would thoroughly recommend.
