The Asteria Inn is and unique property, the commercial site is also part Shelter for transitional adults. This adds a very home type of feeling. The residents I meet were polite, engaging and considerate. The staff was on point with additional information on local restaurants and transportation. The price point for this facility in a convenient location to downtown Stillwater,MN and the river walk ways made it reasonable to accommodate 2 adults for half the cost of any commercial competition. I would definitely go back.

Little run down/ratty. Cheeper hotel

Room was clean and comfortable. Lighting in the bathroom was not bright enough. Front desk was pleasant and helpful.

Check in was good. Upon entering room first noticed holes in wall and burns on bed spread . Later noticed stains on sheet and towels followed by broken shower valve. Next day staff member accused us of not paying the additional fee for our dog. When I told her we paid she followed up with I’ll check , I’ll check. I showed her the receipt and told her to check before accusing us of not paying. We brought her and her helper in the room and shower them the problems with the room. Oh, and it looked like the cleaning procedure for the bathroom was to sweep everything behind the door and call it good enough. The place is substandard at best and I give it two stars because the cable tv worked.

Good rate for nice rooms

There was never anyone at the front desk and there were people running up and down the upper floor hallway in the middle of the night. Our sons room did not have the security latch on the door and something was wrong with the smoke detector. The hotel was clean. Two of the rooms that were in our group had patches on the walls and had not been painted over. It is a basic hotel and was very clean.

Beds are nice. Rooms are simple. Price is right

Dirty linens, lots of hair in the sheets & on pillow cases. Lots of stains on bedding.

Lighting in the room did not work. The heater was noisy! Left off due to noise. The room smelled like an old Smokey bar. Room non smoking but if you smoked in it you would not notice!

This place has No ameities what so ever. Dirty and bathroom sink is clogged and can't be used. Very noisy from people that live here.

Overwhelming bad smell throughout the whole hotel. Worse in the two rooms I tried. The lobby was very dirty and overall the hotel was just gross. I left and got a room at a different hotel. I asked for a refund 10 minutes after checking in. The manager said I had to call Expedia for the refund. Expedia said he lied. Do not stay there!

Check in and out was so fast and friendly. They have a coffee machine in the lobby for whenever you need a cup! Close to everything.

Sheets appeared to be stained and hole in bed spread. Not real clean appearance. Lack of breakfast. Mounding coming off. Overall appeared to be for workers that stay in area for awhile.

Conveniently located. Places to eat close by. Not the best kept up or updated. Although it seemed clean, there were holes in the bedding, rack to hang clothes not securely attached to the wall, recent paint job not done well, etc
