Amazing trip!

I recently stayed at the Sophy Hotel and had a wonderful experience overall. The boutique atmosphere was charming and the hotel was impeccably clean. The staff were friendly and accommodating, making my stay even more enjoyable. While the parking was a bit farther than expected, it wasn’t a significant issue for me. I did encounter a hiccup during check-in when I was charged an additional $800 despite at the hotel event though my booking through Expedia. This was a simple mistake by the hotel. Thankfully, the hotel staff apologized for the mistake and promptly processed my refund even though it took a week to receive. Going forward I’d make sure I communicate that my booking was previously paid for. Despite this minor setback, my time at the Sophy Hotel was very pleasant, and its convenient location near downtown made exploring the area easy. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a cozy and welcoming place to stay!

Such a beautiful hotel! Thoroughly enjoyed my stay! The only downside was the restaurant downstairs which didn’t make any sense. They would be empty and still make you wait for long to get seated and that was a bit frustrating but other than that the hotel was amazing! They even have bicycles to use for free

Very nice hotel, rooms are very stylish, clean and comfortable. Front desk was very nice and courteous.

The hotel was beautiful and very comfortable. Our check-in was fine, however, parking was a block and a half way (in a less than desirable area at night) and no valet service. I never use valet, however, with most hotels not having on site parking, I would have used valet for this one night stay. I paid for parking and received a QR code confirmation. I used that to enter the garage with no issues. When I went to check out in the morning, I stopped at the front desk because I couldn’t locate the QR code on my phone anymore. I had no email confirmation or text message confirmation. So I asked the front desk how I could exit the garage and she told me she couldn’t help because the garage is not part of the hotel. I’d have to take it up with them. She told me to see if they had a gate attendant to help Or I may have to pay again. I asked her if they would reimburse me and she said no because they have nothing to do with the garage. Luckily, I was able to get a Supervisor at the garage to help me (at 6 AM!), but she was not happy with me or the hotel! I stayed at another hotel in downtown Chicago where their parking garage was also not on site. They told me if I had any trouble with the barcode they gave me at the garage, to hit the help button for assistance, or make the payment and bring them the receipt so they can reimburse me. Why the Sophy hotel doesn’t have similar relationship, I don’t know. I was lucky I found someone to help me!!

Man, when I lived in HP 20 years ago, there were ZERO lodging accommodations swank enough to even touch the cuffs of the Sophy. I hope this hotel is here for the long haul. Well done.

Worth the expense. Lived in neighborhood many many years ago. Went back to celebrate anniversary and found this gem. The room was clean except rugs are showing their use and could use a good cleaning. Restaurant and bar were excellent. Amazing shower!!! Highly recommend.

Just a very nice experience in an exceptional hotel. The vibe the, artwork, the location are all a notch, or two, above hotels at this price point.

Excellent hotel. As good as anything downtown. One blemish. The service in the restaurant was mediocre and disinterested.

We enjoyed our stay at Sophy Chicago very much! It almost felt like we were in London when inside the building - it was beautifully decorated and had everything we needed.

Rooms are the nicest! Property very attractive and comfortable. Food in the bar/restaurant excellent! Staff needs to be better trained. Bar staff makes no eye contact, conveys no customer focus, denies access to seating requested with flimsy and inconsistent excuses. Staff at bar/restaurant just does not measure up to food! Who trained and selected them?

Love the vibe of this property. It's beautiful and captures the Essence and history of Hyde Park. The food was excellent. The service was good though there were times that the staff might be talking to each other alot which led to some service delays in the restaurant. Overall, I had an excellent stay and would stay again.

I am so glad there is a nice hotelbin Hyde Park. The staff is amazing, decor is lovely and costs are reasonable Perfect location. This will ne my new go-to hotel in Chicago.

We were in Chicago with our son for a college visit to the university of Chicago. The SOPHY was so convenient and we could easily walk through charming Hyde Park to the university. We loved it all! Great restaurants! Also easy to walk down to the beach!
